Chapter two

My heart almost jumped out of my chest at the sight of the lady. I knew how painful it was to be rejected for a job you applied for, but I wouldn't cry because of it.

Not even if my life depended on the job like it does right now.

It was my turn to be interviewed.
I mutter some prayers before trotting into the waiting room.

The office was sparsely decorated with wooden artifacts and bronze awards. A manly smell lingered in the air.

I could also hear the sound of running water in a nearby room, an indication that the person I sought could be in the restroom. The door suddenly opens, revealing a familiar face I woke up remembering.

I begin to feel jittery as my eyes take a quick tour around his frame. He was more handsome than he looked the night before.

His eyes suddenly light up before an unresolved emotion takes over.

“He must be a good actor,” I thought to myself.

“I hope my secretary has briefed you on why you're here." He asks, feigning not to notice the clear surprise on my face.

I nod in affirmation, my heart almost threatening to jump out of my chest.

"Pick up your appointment letter with my secretary. You will resume tomorrow.

A quick glance at him, and I saunter off to meet his secretary.

This is the first time a man has humiliated me in the most unspeakable way.

The ride home was a very troubled one.

The thought of working under the stranger who gave me a series of orgasms the previous night sends chills down my spine.

There’s no way he faked the moans that escaped his lips that night. Talking about his lips, I could still feel their feathery touches on my naked body. I quickly smile as my lips twitch in obvious recognition of the torture they underwent.

I needed the money; it was the only way I would be able to pay the loan sharks the whooping sum I borrowed some months ago.
The payment was due in the next four months.

At home, I busy myself with getting everything ready for the work ahead.
It wasn’t the first time I was working under the gross supervision of a bossy boss; my former boss wasn’t any different. The only difference could be that he wasn’t as attractive as the man I met in the office some hours ago.

My first day at work was short of what I envisioned. I arrived at exactly 7:00 with a satisfying grin on my face. A light tap on my shoulder abruptly stopped the smirk that was on my face. I would have sworn that he enjoyed taunting, except that his face bore an expressionless look, and I couldn’t find any explanation for it. He was dressed in a well-trimmed two-piece suit with his two upper buttons undone, revealing a mask of scanty hair on his chest.

“Good morning, Mr. Williams.”

"My desk is a mess. I hope you have not already forgotten your obligations.

It was his guts for him. He had clearly ignored my greeting and only gone ahead to bark orders on my first day at work.

“I will get to that immediately.” I had already prepared myself for the worst. His office was well arranged, contrary to what was expected. I had rushed out of his presence in fear because I thought it was as messy as he said. The door creaks open, and he emerges with a file he casually threw at me. "I need that file to be ready in the next two hours."

The file in my hand was too large to be completed in less than two hours. It was impossible to get whatever job he wanted done by 8:00 a.m. “Is this man not worse than the devil himself?” I wondered.

“One more thing,” he continues, "I do not appreciate excuses.”

Flicking through the files, my mind delves into an unprepared task: calculating, chewing on my pen nib, and finally filling in figures that I deem worthy of the empty spaces in the form.

It was a herculean task, and I found myself with a satisfied grin upon the completion of the work.

My table clock rings out in succession, a clear indication that my time of submission is up.

I carefully make my way to his office door and hesitate before knocking slowly on the door.

My knock is met by a stretched silence. His secretary was kind enough to have told me about the things he hated: “You can only go into his office when he sends for you,” she had whispered into my ears.

So, I waited, and when no response came, I retreated into my office, unsure whether to call him on the office landline or wait for his call.

Either way, I wasn’t ready to get scolded on my first day.

A knock on the door, and I leap off my feet, totally shaken by the fear of being faced by him.

My face suddenly recoils into a smile as I plunge myself into the outstretched arms of my best friend,Alec.

"What's happening here? My boss bellows at our backs, anger visibly written all over his mean face.
