Chapter 8

Paxton Flynn:

"I'm dead. I'm dead. God, I'm dead."

"Would you stop talking and walking? Just take a seat." Sebastian said crossing his leg over the other as he made himself at home.

How is that even possible?!

"How can you be so calm?" I asked him, my hands flying around. "We're in trouble. Principal Robbins would suspend or even expel us, my future."

I felt tears brewing up, I've never been in here before. This can't be happening to me. My parents don't have enough money, I'll surely be expelled.

"Are you going to cry?" Sebastian asked uncrossing his legs once more.

"This is all your fault!" I accused him.

"Right, then be calm. I'll take all the blame." He says calmly.

"What?"

"You heard me."

"And why would you do that?" I asked him.

"I'd do anything to escape the torture of watching you cry. A girl crying is torture enough."

"I wasn't going to cry."

He raised his brows at me, "well you look like you're gonna shit your pants and that's just as terrible. Much more terrible."

I couldn't help the smile and chuckle that followed after. "I feel like crying just to spite you."

"Please don't."

I sighed getting a bit serious, "what if we're asked to pay for the broken equipments?"

"I'll take care of that. The only problem would be them calling my father, then I'll have to shift all the blame to you." My eyes widened as the words left his mouth and he smiled- the first smile I've ever seen on him - "I'm joking, don't freak out. But calling my dad won't be cool."

"You have enough money to pay for everything without involving your dad?" I asked taking a seat. He nodded. "What are you? A crown prince?"

He smirked, "of course, Sebastian Crown, crown Prince of so so kingdom. Has a nice ring to it doesn't it?"

"So so kingdom?" I asked him amused.

"Well even if I don't have a kingdom. I'm from the Crown family and I'm a Prince, so Crown Prince." He chuckled at his own joke and it was infectious.

"Yeah but there's just one big flaw, a Prince is supposed to be charming, you're anything but." I stated.

He smiled, "only you seem to think that Flynn, only you."

If only he knew.

I couldn't say another word because Principal Robbins barged into the office immediately. Walking as straight as a pole with her head up high. Some students said she's a real witch but I haven't been on the receiving end of her broomstick or wand before. This is my first time and I'm afraid for my life, a little part of me for Sebastian too.

She didn't say a word until she was comfortably sat on her spinning leather chair. Then her eyes shifted from Sebastian to me. "Mr Crown what are you here for again, isn't this the third time this week?"

"Er fourth actually." Sebastian said and she frowned at him more, then her narrowed eyes stopped at me.

"What's your name?"

"Paxton Flynn." I replied, "Mister Paxton Flynn or just Paxton. But you can call me Flynn or Mister Flynn, whichever you choose, I really don't mind, it's up to you to do whatev-"

"Shush." She said and I clamped my mouth shut immediately biting on lower lip. I could see Sebastian raising an amused brow at me and I just blushed red. "Paxton Flynn, new blood in crime I see."

I raised my head up to say something but decided not to. Its best if I just keep shut.

"So both of you broke a beaker and two pipettes. Spilled chemicals and completely disrupted Mr Stuart's class, paying him no respect." She read out, glaring at us both.

Sebastian rolled his eyes. "He told you all that didn't he?"

"This is an offence Mr Crown and I could you both suspended."

My eyes widened in panic and Sebastian seemed to have noticed. "Its all me, Flynn had nothing to do with it."

She turned to him, "just you eh? So expulsion it is then?"

This time Sebastian eyes widened, she was definitely making a mountain out of a mole hill. "It was us both. Me especially, it was my arm that pushed the equipments down." I confessed, I figured that since I'm 'new in crime' my punishment won't be as harsh as his.

"Oh really?"

"Don't listen to him." Sebastian said giving me a confused look.

"You should listen to me." I countered.

"No, its I who--"

"Enough. Mr Stuart also said you both had trouble getting along." She said crossing her hands and giving us both a look.

"Whaaaaattttt?" Sebastian and I drawled at the same time, totally coincidental. We looked each other and I'm sure we would have burst out laughing if not for the principal in front of us.

"Be quiet. As punishment, you both or just, any how you guys want to settle it, all I want is for the apparatus broken to be replaced. And then I subject you both to one week of after school detention."

"What?" I asked, Sebastian seemed unfazed by this.

"You both would spend one hour after school in detention, for the next one week. Nobody should be absent, otherwise, there shall be more punishments given to you both. Understand?"

"Must it be an hour detention, for one week? Can't we get something else?" I asked. One hour everyday with Sebastian? Kill me now.

"Would you rather be suspended for two weeks, Mister Flynn?"

"No ma. But--"

"No buts, detention together or suspension?"

"Detention." Sebastian said not missing a beat.

They both turned to me and I sighed muttering "detention" reluctantly.

"Great, you may both leave. Your detention starts tomorrow straight until seven days. You may leave."

*-*-*-*

"I want to say this is all your fault, so badly." I muttered as we left Principal Robbins office, into the empty hallway.

"Well? No one is stopping you." He replies opening up a bubblegum wrap.

"This is all your fault." I said finally.

"Good, now do you feel better? Is the world now perfect after that?" He ask.

I sighed, "not, but at least now you know its your fault we're in this mess."

"Bubblegum?" I refused him again and he threw it into his mouth. "I honestly don't mind. With or without this incident, I'll still attend detention all through to next year even. So, even if its for just the week, its cool to have a cute buddy with me."

He winked at me, "see you tomorrow Flynn."

Cute buddy?

Me?
