It is the end of English and I walk down the hallway to Geography that we share with Emily.

         "Hey Em"I say

      "Hello El"she answers

   We call ourselves the E sisters since both our names start with E.

We walk to class together while gisting about her weekend.

    "You know Em..." She says."My  parents travelled to Italy last two weeks and they came back on Saturday.They bought me lots of gifts and guess what they got you  something too"she blabbers excitedly.

      "Really"i ask happy

        "Of course but I left it in my locker so I'll get it for you during lunch.

       "Kay Kay"I say

  Me and Em have been friends since kindergarten and her parents love me so much like their daughter.The only problem is that they travel alot due to their work.

We reach geography and do the same revision. I bring out my jotter and do the same.

It is the end of monday at school and we head home.Me and Alex always take the bus while Emily's parents pick her from school.

   We enter the bus as sit at our sits and begin talking before we reach home.

    "So what do you plan on doing after our exams and graduation" Jace asks

     "Well since we don't have enough money to pay for my college tuition, I think I'm just gonna look for a good paying job that hires high school certificate holders" I say

       "Really,thats not nice I think you should have other major plans for your future. Well for me I think I'm gonna go to a good college and study Architecture" he said

          "I think you should go do what your best at" I say inspiring him.

      "Ok I'm gonna do that and don't worry I'm sure the future holds alot of Marvelous things for you" he said smiling at me.

   I smile back thinking what's this boy  saying.He is so wrong if he thinks something marvelous is going to happen to me. There is nothing wonderful about my life and I don't thinks anything is gonna change anytime soon.

I change the topic and we start talking about movies.

"So next week I think you should come over to mine if you're not very busy or maybe I'll come to yours? He asked.

      "I think I'll have a little time to spare for your dump ass"I say while heading out of the bus since it is at my stop.

I love this time of the day. Coming back home,meeting my mother and sister and hugging them. They make me forget my sorrows. My family and friends.

I run to my house,which is just a small box in a dirty neighborhood but despite that I consider it home. We moved to our house about 8 months ago. After my dad left, he didn't really leave us with much and we became miserly and so my mom had to sell the house. Though it didn't really earn us that much but it was enough to rent a small house and pay for the bills.

I smile as I reach the front of our door.

"Hey mom." I shout."Nat I'm home."

"Hey El, how was school today" My mom says while approaching me with a smile.

"School was fine mom. The usual. Stressful or even more today since its a week to our final exams" I answer, smiling at her.

"what of yours mom?"I ask

" well El, today was not really full of events since today is my bosses birthday and he took pity on me."she answers.

"OK" I say. "Gotta head to work." I get up and start going out of the house.

Wait aren't I missing something?oh Nat!

"Nat?" I scream her name.

"Yeah?" She answers coming out of the kitchen with an apple.

"Geez,what a way to welcome your sister" I say appearing to be angry.

"Oh sorry,El welcome!" She runs and hugs me. I hug her back and kiss her on the forehead. I release her and say Bye to her before heading out the door. I head to one my jobs which is as a sales girl at a supermarket. It is just a minute walk from my house, I reach there quick.

"Hey Mel" I say while waving at my coworker as I enter the supermarket.

"Hey El" she smiles at me sweetly.

"How was your weekend?" I ask since I don't do per time here during weekend.

"It was marvelous El,I went on a date with the guy I've been telling you about" she says while giggling like a child. "We went to a fancy restaurant and had a good time.

" I'm so happy for you " I say giving her a wide smile.

Melody is a beautiful young woman in her early thirties. She has brown long hair and hazel eyes and a beautiful face. She is tall and slim with curved in all the right places. She married at the age of 20 and her husband died five years after the marriage. Ever since she refuses to move on but I think she has met the right guy.

"Mel,I think this guy is the right guy for you and you should really take this relationship serious".I hold her hand and tell her sincerely.

Just then a costumer busts into the supermarket.

"Mel, Let me go and attend to the costumer"I say before walking to go to the costumer.

The costumer is a tall man,wearing a black casual t-shirt with faded jeans and a cap to hide his face. He is holding a little beautiful girl about 7 years old wearing a pink flowered dress with beautiful black hair just like the man I'm guessing is her father but looks too young to be.

"Hello, welcome to sunshine supermarket.What can I help you with? I say the usual line with a forced smile.

"Well,I would like you to take my daughter to the candy area and get her whatever she likes" he says looking annoyed at me.

I ignore him amd the girl looks at me and just keeps a blank face like she's bored.

"Ok let's go" I say and hold the girls hand and take her.

We reach the area and she starts picking packets of kit Kats and snickers.

"Hey little girl, what's your name?" I ask her.

She looks at me and gives me a blank look and continues picking things from the stall.

"My names El by the way"I say and still no answer

"You know, I used to be like you when I was a little girl, but do you know what happened?" I turn my voice small like I'm about to tell her my life long secret.

"No"she says with a small voice too

"A monster appeared in my room at night and told me to stop or else he would come back and eat me up"I say trying to scare her.

She stares at me for a moment.

"I'm seven not stupid"she said

Hey this girls smart.

I scratch my hair nervously and she bursts into fits of laughter. She laughs and laughs and I also join her. We both laugh at my sad attempt at a scare.

After laughing non stop for like a minute we finally stop.

"My name is Emerald" she finally says with a smile.

"Nice to meet you Emerald" I say.

After we finish shopping we head over to where the father was standing together with a smile.

"Sir,just head over to the cashier and pay and that's all." I say.

"Isn't that also your job?" He says

That's it.

"Sir it isnt part of my job so you better go there with your lazy legs or you can get your lazy ass outta this place" I say annoyed.

Emerald beside me smiles and the man looks surprised and he goes to the cashier.

They pay for their things and Emerald waves me goodbye before they leave.
