MOONLIGHT VENGEANCE

THE VISIT

I will tell my story, I will tell of how the moon goddess brought all this upon me. How good everyone thought the moon goddess blessed me with had become my nemesis.

My name is Mandaline and I am the only child of one of the happiest couples in Zandex, the G’s.
Okay, we call them Gerald and Geraldine. They were not twins but they were mates and they lived very happily together. I thought so, or so it seemed.

So, when the Moon Goddess mated me with Alpha Cosmos, I was happy, I was the most beautiful female and he was the strongest male werewolf.
I was happy because what I saw with my parents was what mates are to me. I don’t care what anybody thinks of Alpha Cosmos, he was my soul mate.

“Mandaline!
Mandaline!” My dad called me.

“You have to rush to the town square to get the foodstuffs, Alpha Cosmos has sent words.
He will be here within the hour.” Daddy said.

“Okay Dad,” I chuckled.

“I can see that.
Don’t get too excited, he is only coming for a business proposition,” Daddy said.

I could not hide my excitement any time I heard his name or anywhere I was and his name was mentioned.
Alpha Cosmos is one of the most revered Alphas. He has very vast lands and was one of the richest producers of food crops in the entire region and I was mated to him.

I hurried to the town square, almost running along the way.
I don’t know why many people have greeted me in recent times. Either it was because I was mated to the Alpha or my dad was the richest blacksmith in town. My dad could make all manner of weapons, including guns.

“Hey my love,” Tony said.

“Excuse me,” was my reply.

“Come on,  Mandaline, I made a request to you and you have said nothing.

“Tony, I came here to get some items if you want me to stop coming to your shop, I respect that,” I said sounding very serious.

“No, you don’t have to do that, but I deserve an answer,” Tony said.

“I have told you severally, I am mated to Alpha Cosmos,” I said.

“So why has he not come for you all this while?
’ Tony asked.

“He is coming today and you are wasting my time,” I said.

“Good luck!
” Tony said, gathering my items.

I could see the pity in his face.
Tony was a good man and he deserved everything good but I made for another. Moreover, Tony does not believe in the moon goddess and the prophecies.

My journey home was a fast one.
I did not want to hear tales of the visit of Alpha Cosmos to my home. My mate whom I cherish and adore.

I got home to see that he had arrived.
There were so many people in the house that I could not count. Why would he bring this many to seek my hand in marriage? I asked myself.

I quietly kept what I bought in the kitchen.
Sussan told me that my dad had been expecting me but she was not sure that I should go and see him for now because it looked like they were arguing.

I quietly took the other door of the kitchen to my room to get a better view of what was happening before I showed myself to my man.
They were still arguing and I could hear every single word.

“Have you lost your mind, Alpha Cosmos?
” my father asked in anger.

“No, Gerald, I want your land and that is final,” Alpha Cosmos replied in anger, his voice sounded as if a lion was in the house and it was quite intimidating.

“Cos, you can not do this to Gerald, not after everything we have been through,” my mother responded.

“Geraldine, I have always loved you, and you know how much I respect your decisions, but I want this land.
If Gerald is not selling it. I am still going to take it. I am the Alpha of the pack,” Alpha Cosmos told my mother.

“Alpha Cosmos, I will not sell my land or give it to you.
I have a daughter, you know,” replied my father.

“And she is mated to me, Gerald,” Alpha Cosmos shouted at my father.

“She is not going to be one of your concubines or prostitutes,” replied my father in anger.

With a single wave of Alpha Cosmos’s hand, all the guns were pointed to my father.
My mother jumped in front of my father.

“Have you lost your mind, Cos?
This man was like a father to you,” said my mother.

“Yet he married my lover,” replied Alpha Cosmos.

“I chose him,” said my mother.

“I don’t care,” said Alpha Cosmos.

I went into the room and they were all shocked to see me.
I walked to the man beside Alpha Cosmos and took down his gun. The others did the same, seeing what I did.

“There is no need for this, it is a business deal and must not be concluded today.
You can come back at a better time. I am sure we will reach a reasonable conclusion for both parties,” I said.

“The true daughter of Geraldine, wise words, I will be back,” said the Alpha as he ordered his men to leave our place.

I could see the sadness in my father’s eyes.
He was not happy that I saw what I had just witnessed. It was not for me. Alpha Cosmos came and that was why he sent me on a wild goose chase to the town square. I felt pity for him because, for once, he looked defenseless.

I also saw something that I had never seen before.
It was the look on Alpha Cosmos’s face anytime he looked or called my mother. I noticed that he still had feelings for her. This was the werewolf that the moon goddess gave me as a mate.

My mother and father went to their room without speaking to me, looking quite unsure as to what part of their conversation I had heard.

I had heard so many stories about Alpha Cosmos but no one had told me, about his relationship with my parents.
No one had mentioned my mother’s name in any conversation or maybe they were all being smart, keeping it away from my hearing.

Tony had several times asked me to ask my mother who Alpha Cosmos was.
I could not bring myself to ask her that. I was close to my father and if he had asked to me ask my father that would have been an easy task.

I made up my mind to ask Tony what he knew about Alpha Cosmos.
The tension at home does require more. I was going to let things calm down for a while and what Tony would reveal to me would help me understand what I need to know from my parents, and yes I was going to support my father in not selling his land. It was not the best of options for now.

I stood in the living room more shocked than anyone.
My soulmate was still in love with my mother and wanted my father’s land. A man I had been waiting for all my life. How complex can my life be?
