This is fucking killing me!
I can hear her wolf crying, trying to reach out to me and now it’s my fault she’s in so much pain. It’s because I kissed her that she’s now lying in bed in agony. Getting close is risky enough but kissing her was a step too far and I knew that! I can’t help myself with her. Bailey is my fated mate and it’s hurting me to stay away from her as much as it is for her.
The tablets that Rosa gave her are some strong shit. She hands them out to pack members when we’re healing from a bad break and our wolf isn’t healing as fast as it should. It’s obvious that Bailey’s wolf is wanting to be set free and she seems to be a very strong wolf, she just needs to hold back a little and not cause her human form any harm.
I need to rethink my plan on how I’m going about caring for Bailey. She needs to be told as soon as possible for her own safety. She’ll be scared and think we’re all crazy, but it has to be done.
After putting Bailey to bed and quietly making my way downstairs, I exit the house and send my Beta, Archer a message. I need one of the pack members to come and collect my car so I can stick around and keep an eye on Bailey without her finding out.
I can’t go home knowing she’s in this amount of pain.
ARCHER : Got it, Murphy and Arlo are on their way.
I thank him and look out for the two young pack members. I let my wolf zone in on Bailey. She’s in a restless sleep and still in pain, thankfully the tablets have kicked in but as far as I can tell, it’s only taken away the edge.
A car comes to a stop around the corner from Bailey’s home, I already know it’s Murphy and Arlo by their scents and I can hear them. I walk around to them with my hands in my pockets. “I’m wondering,” The two of them become silent and freeze at the sight of me. “Are you wanting to wake up my mate and her neighbours?”
Both of their expressions fall flat. “Sorry Alpha.” They both say at the same time. I just stand and stare at them.
“Sorry to hear your fated is in pain.” Arlo almost whispers.
I nod, they’re only young ones so I cut them some slack. Murphy walks over when I hold out my car keys. “Archer and the others said they can take over watch to give you a break?”
I drop the keys in his hand. “No need for that.”
Before Murphy walks away her asks, “You want your car at the compound or yours?”
The compound is the main, large building where most of our pack lives. It’s basically home for the members, unless they want their own space. Some pack members get their own homes surrounding the compound when they have a mate for privacy but will still keep their room in the compound.
It also has a games room, community kitchen, gym and cinema.
“Mine.” I answer and with one last nod, the two of them drive away.
I walk to the side of Bailey’s house, transforming into my wolf form and jumping over the fence. I can hear and feel Bailey a lot stronger now and my wolf holds back a whimper when we feel how much Bailey and her wolf are suffering.
The fire pit is still on, welcoming me with its warmth. It’s a little cool out tonight so I decide to keep it on a while longer. I’m sure Bailey won’t mind.
My wolf sends out a signal to Bailey to try to help calm her and give her a peaceful sleep, but it doesn’t seem to help. Even with me being so close to her isn’t having an impact.
Maybe if I sleep and enter her dreams?
I’m able to flick off the fire pit with my paw and snuggle into the blankets that we left outside. I can smell Bailey all over them and my wolf seems very happy with that. We both enjoy being enveloped in her scent.
As I’m closing my eyes, trying to get to sleep to join Bailey in her dream consciousness, I wonder where the night could have ended if Bailey hadn’t experienced her pain.
Would we have kissed? Could it have gone further?
We will have to try again once Bailey knows more as to who she really is.
I open my eyes and I stand in my human form. I’m in Bailey’s bedroom and see her lying in her bed. She’s still in the sexy black dress from earlier tonight.
“How are you feeling?” I ask her when she notices my presence.
Bailey sits up and smiles over at me. She’s so fucking beautiful. I think she’s been waiting for me. Even in her discomfort she can smile at me like that.
“I’m a lot better now.” She bites down on her bottom lip, and I see her hardened nipples through her dress. My cock twinges.
Suddenly my clothing has gone and I’m standing proud and naked in front of her. Bailey laughs cheekily. “Well, that’s not fair.”
Bailey’s laughter becomes louder when her dress disappears. She beckons me over and watches me walk over to her. “How about now?”
I get onto the bed and reach for her. “Perfect.” I kiss Bailey. “Fucking perfect.”
