Chapter 1

Did he just say Mate?

That's not even possible. I mean how could it be? Judging by the his demeanor and aura, he's definitely an alpha.

"Bring her to the mansion," he said impassively, casting me a look then walking out.

"Come on," someone grabbed me from the back and pulled me to a black car. He pushed me inside causing me to hit my head in the process. He smirked through the rearview mirror once he settled into the driver's seat.

"If you're thinking of jumping out of the window, you should know that I turned on child lock," He grinned tauntingly.

I grit my teeth together and look away.

"So, what's your name?" He asks.

I ignore him and continue to look out the window.

"The cold shoulder. I see, but it's not like it matters, you'll be dead in a few hours anyway," He stated dryly.

I gulped but made sure not to let the fear show on my face.

"I'm Dylan, by the way," He said after a few minutes of silence.

I just ignored him and fiddled with my hands.

The car came to a sudden halt and the guy in front came out of the car and pulled my door open. He pulled me out roughly and I shot him a glare. It looks like chivalry is dead here.

"Let her go," A deep voice growled from behind.

Dylan let go of me instantly and turned around.

"I got the rogue," He said as he looked at me.

"What's your name?" The Alpha, I'm guessing and my new mate, asked as he stared at me. I felt as though he was penetrating my soul and I shuddered under his gaze.

"Serena," I replied.

"Come with me," He offered me his hand which I ignored and continued to look ahead. He fisted his hand and I could tell he was angry.

"Follow me and don't even try to run," He warned me before turning around and walking away.

I rolled my eyes but followed him anyway. We trotted up to a mansion and walked in, the eyes of the residents greeting me. I just stared straight ahead and continued to follow my mate up the stairs. He walked to the left and open a large door and stepped aside to let me in.

A neat office slash study met my eyes as I walked in and sat on the comfortable brown leather chair with him walking to the other side of the table to sit.

"You're my mate," He said.

"Thank you for stating the obvious," I replied dryly.

"But I already met my mate," He continued.

I felt a sharp pain in my chest but made sure not let it show on my face.

"I've met mine too," I said coldly.

"You're my second chance," He said in the same cold voice.

"What happened to your first?" I raised my eyebrow.

"She's dead." His tone turned glacial and the chill made all the hair on my body stand, "What about your mate?"

"He rejected me," I gritted out, painfully.

"Why would he do that?" He sounded surprised.

"He thought I was unfit to be Luna," I shrugged.

"You were a mate to an alpha?" He raised his brow.

"Yep," I replied nonchalantly.

Before he could say anything the door to the office burst open and a girl, probably in her early twenties, walked in.

"Alpha..." She looked at me with piqued interest before setting her eyes on the alpha, "I'm sorry for interrupting but Doreen sent me to ask you what we should prepare for tonight," She quickly took a deep breath after saying all that. It was actually very amusing.

"Tell her to ask Sabrina and show Serena the way to her room," He said.

"What?" She asked wide eyed.

After a few minutes she nodded and motioned for me to come. He must have mind linked her.

"I'm Caterina," She grinned at me as we walked out of the office.

I just gave her an awkward smile before we climbed up another set of stairs to a floor of only four rooms. We walked to the end of the hallway as she opened the door to the left. The hallway lit up with light from the all-white room.

"This is your room Luna," She smiled.

Luna?

"It's just Serena!" I snap.

She flinched at my tone and I quickly coughed to calm myself down.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to snap, just don't call me Luna," I said with a forced smile.

"Okay," She turned around to walk away but I stopped her.

"Can you show me the Alphas office, again?" I asked.

"Yeah, sure," She said and walked out of my room as I followed her. We stopped at the same big door and I walked in without knocking.

He looked up and narrowed his eyes at me. This room was filled with his scent which, I would never admit it but, helped in calming me.

"I don't even know your name and that girl had already started calling me Luna!" I snapped at him.

"My name's Adrian and yes, you are the Luna of this pack now so that is what you'll be called," He replied indifferently.

"And which pack is this?" I asked.

"Black Crescent," he replied and my eyes widened for a second.

Known to be the most dangerous pack in the state. It has over 4000 pack members and 2000 of them are warriors and he's the Alpha. He's known to be heartless!

"How do you know I won't reject you?" I bite back.

Something flashed in his eyes and he was in front of me within seconds.

"I know you won't," He whispered in my ear. I felt his teeth graze my ear and a shudder ran down my body.

"What's tonight?" I took a step back from him and tried to change the topic, remembering how Caterina had come in to ask what to prepare for dinner.

"Just a few special guests are coming, if you want to help in the preparations, please feel free to do so," He said before walking to his chair and getting back to some paperwork.

I roll my eyes and walk out of the office. I look to the left then to the right. Great. I don't know which way to go.

I decided to go to the right which leads me to a staircase. I go downstairs and feel the gaze of many pack members on me. I just ignore them and bump into Caterina.

"Oh, thank God, I found you, are you working in the kitchen?" I ask.

"Yes, would you like to come?" She asks politely. I think she's an omega.

"Yeah! I'd love to!" I smile at her.

"I must warn you Luna, after Luna Clarissa died, some people started to think they'd replace her and well, they think they're better then others," She says.

"You mean they're bitches," Someone interrupted from the back.

"You can say that," Caterina chuckled.

"Please, excuse my rudeness, I'm Sabrina, mate to the gamma," She smiles.

"Oh, so you're not one of the bitches?" I ask bluntly.

"No," She laughed.

"Come on let's go show them that we have a Luna now, and we do not need them to try to fill in that space," Caterina smirked.

"Wait, you're the Luna?" Sabrina asked in a surprised tone.

"Yes, it seems so," I reply dryly. I really had to bite my tongue hard in order to not snap at them for calling me Luna.

We walked into the kitchen and a strong smell of different spices hit me making me nauseous.

"Who have we got here?" A sickly sweet voice cooed.

"She's our new Luna," Caterina replied to the brunette in front of me.

"No one asked for you to speak, you filthy low life!" The brunette snapped at her. I narrowed my eyes at her choice of words and took a step forward, leaving only a few inches between the brunette an me.

"As she said, I'm the Luna and I expect you to respect everyone around you," I said in a cold tone.

"You're going to tell me who to respect? And that even, an omega?" She laughed.

"That's right, I just did," I shoot her a sweet smile before walking past her, but made sure to bump my shoulder against hers to let her know that I don't give a fuck about how mighty she thinks she is.

"That was Doreen and you still need to meet her leader, Aubrey," Sabrina whispers to me.

"I really can't wait," I smile then turn around to face Caterina.

"What do I help with?" I raise my brow.

"Well, I'm making croissants, so you can help with that," She shrugs.

So, for the next half an hour, we made croissant making about two-hundred of them. My eyes stray over to Sabrina's worktop for the billionth time and I inwardly groan, her shapes still coming out wrong. Flour dappled Sabrina's face as I dusted off my hands, a smirk engraving my face.

"What was that for?" She asked.

"You're making them wrong," I pursed my lips.

She narrowed her eyes at me and threw the dough in her hand at me but I ducked and it hit Caterina's face.

"What?-" She stared at us wide eyed with half of her face covered in dough. She looked... weird.

"It was for her!" Sabrina pointed at me.

"What? No," I batted my eyelashes innocently.

They both smirked at me and I raised my brows.

No way!

I dashed out of the kitchen and bumped into someone. I muttered profanities under my breath and looked up to meet his deep stormy blue eyes.

Why him?

"Caterina will help you dress up, I expect you to be ready at 7 because I'm going to introduce you at the party tonight as my mate," He said.

"But I haven't even accepted you," I retort.

"Cut it out, it's not like you're going to reject me, so be ready by seven," He growled before walking off.

That asshole... He can't just order me around. I'll show him that I'm not a slave he could just boss around. I walk upstairs towards the room Caterina had showed me.

I'm not yet ready to be introduced as the Luna. No way.

Someone knocked on the door twice. "Come in," I say.

"The alpha has sent this for you, he said you should wear this tonight," Sabrina entered my room and kept a box on my bed.

"Who is going to be at this gathering tonight?" I questioned.

"Just a few special guests," She shrugged.

"That helps a lot," I say in a sarcastic tone and walk over to the box. I open it up and take out the navy blue long dress he sent for me. It had only a single sleeve that will probably reach till my wrist and was covered with little diamond like beads from the chest area till where the sleeve ended while the other hand was just left bare.

"Argh," I say and walk into the bathroom to take a relaxing shower.

I came out after 20 minutes and Sabrina was still waiting for me.

I had a towel wrapped around me so I quickly took the dress and walked into the bathroom to put it on.

She helped me with my hair and make up and by the time we were done, it was already past seven.

"You can wear these," She nodded towards a pair of silver stilettos.

"No way," I laughed and put on my white sneakers.

"No! You can't wear those," She complained and scrunched up her nose at my choice of footwear.

"Nobody will see them, my dress is covering them," I smile.

The door to my room opened and Dylan walked into the room. I narrowed my eyes at him. I don't like him.

He coughed awkwardly under my intense glare. "The alpha has demanded you to come down at once."

Demanded? I inwardly scoff.

"I'm coming," I said and turned around to grab my phone. He offered me his hand but ignored it and walked out of the room. I walked to the staircase and saw Adrian waiting for me at the bottom.

Typical.

I walk down and he offered me his hand. I took it and we walked towards a huge brown door. We entered the room and everyone turned to look at us. My hold on his arm tightened.

"Serena?" A surprised voice asked.

Xavier.
