Episode 6

EPISODE 6

CHAPTER 006

“Don’t point fingers at me, I would never kill my own father!” he shouted back at the victim’s wife.

Now that things are getting more suspicious, I think I should really start asking questions now. The son of Mr. George Baker is another potential suspect for his death.

“What could be the reason that you’re trying to blame him?” I asked in the middle of their argument. I need answers; I need to know what’s going on because things are becoming interesting.

The victim's wife looks at me with tears now streaming down from her eyes to her cheeks before she said, "They're still arguing, and I even heard them shouting at each other this morning. He was here before George died," she said before she stared at George's son.

But she told me earlier that George was loved by everyone? Why didn't she warn me about Mr. George's son?

"Stop lying, Elizabeth. You know how much love I have for my father, I might have raised my voice to him earlier, but killing him would never cross my mind. I'm not crazy about murdering my own father." He said in a frustrated tone, staring at his father's dead body. I saw the pain in his eyes as he looked at it.

"Yes, yes! I heard you guys yell at each other, and then I heard a gunshot. You're already gone when I go down! "She kept telling her story. That's suspicious; I've got to take all of her words.

"Have you heard gunshots?" Michael has asked. I know he told me that I'm going to be the one who's going to ask questions, but I think he's already getting intrigued that he couldn't help but start asking her questions.

"Yes, yes! And that's probably Greg's gun, he likes collecting guns, and he probably uses his gun to kill his own dad. "She said hysterically, and I could see Greg, the victim's son, looking angry as he glared at Elizabeth.

"Then why would I go back here if I was the one who killed my dad? "He roared, and it makes sense.

"Maybe because you're trying to appear innocent and say that you didn't know your dad died! "Elizabeth said in a high pitched tone before she tried to attack Greg.

"Don't be silly here, Elizabeth! If I remember you're probably the one who killed him, or you asked your new boyfriend to kill my dad! ”

New boyfriend, huh?

I saw the redness of Elizabeth's cheeks, and she seems flustered. But that's not enough for me to suspect her; Greg is also my primary suspect since he was told to be the last guy George Baker had ever spoken to before he died. And it's not just a conversation, it's an argument.

"Can we ask you a few questions, Mr. Greg Baker?" I just wanted to concentrate on Greg; Michael should take his time and ask Elizabeth Baker some questions.

And though I could tell he didn't want to speak to me, he still shook his head. I asked him to join me in the dining room when I smelled and heard something burning from the outside.

"I'm sorry, I just need to check something," I apologized for taking a peek at the backyard to see what was going on, and I found that there was a garbage drum.

"Can I ask you a favor, officer? "I asked the officer near me, and he immediately went to see me. "Can you give me a copy of a potential murder weapon, and then put some water on the drum to kill the flames," I told him, and he nodded his head like a yes.

I grinned at him, and then he quickly asked one of his team to give me a copy of a potential murder weapon. It says it's a gun, hmm.

I went back to speak to Greg Baker while Michael was busy talking to Elizabeth Baker. I went back to see Greg again.

"Where were you at 10:30 a.m. in the morning? "I started to question him.

"I went out to cool myself down, I was in a grocery store nearby, and you could ask the store manager to check the CCTV for any proof that I was really there," he said. "So I called an officer to check the convenience store nearby to ask for the video footage.

"Is it true that you had an argument with your dad?" I kept asking.

He seems uncomfortable, but he still nodded his head. "What could be the reason for your fight with your dad?”

He ignored my eyes, and I saw him staring at Elizabeth, who was already busy crying her heart out while talking to Michael. "Elizabeth is my ex-girlfriend, and she and my father cheated on me. Eventually, they married each other, I found out that Elizabeth was cheating on my father, so I went to tell him that, but he refused to believe me, saying that I was only making up my story because I still felt bitter about their relationship.

Okay, it makes sense now.

They're the same age, and they don't seem to be close to each other. There's also this Greg's accusation that Elizabeth is probably asking her new boyfriend to kill her husband. But that's enough evidence, understanding that Elizabeth appears to have heard gunshots and that only Greg has a gun in this household.

"Except for the three of you, is there any other person living in this house? "I turned around and saw a little boy carrying a teddy bear, trying to hide from others. I guess he's about ten or eight years old. Well, I'm not sure about that. I found that he had several bruises on his cheeks, neck, and sides.

"Yeah, the younger brother of Elizabeth." The young boy must be the one he's talking to. "I didn't know that my father was dead until I saw all the police officers and the crime sign outside. There's no chance I'm the one that murdered my dad.

"And that kid... he's just a kid, and he doesn't have anything to do with it so let's not include him here." He gritted his teeth as if trying to reassure me that I don't have to include the kid in this mess. I glanced around and found some picture frames with their pictures.

"What are the guns you've got?" We continued to discuss things until the crime scene investigator called me for some help.

"Thank you very much for what you said to me, Mr. Greg. Although we're still investigating this case, we hope for your cooperation and you'll be under our surveillance for the next few hours." He nodded to me and I went to our CSA to attend to her.

"Have you been checking the drum?" I asked her about it directly. The reason I told them to kill the fire is that I think there's something in there that could be helpful in this situation.

"Yes, there's a 5-inch stiletto in there," she said before showing me all the photos she took when we were asking the suspects some questions.

"Where was the victim got shot again? "I asked her to show me photos of the victim. I take a peek at George Baker earlier, but it's much better to take a look at the picture of the CSA.

"He was shot four times in his head as if there was something in this part that the criminal was trying to hide," she said before she showed me other photos. "And then he was shot in different parts of his body to show that he really died because of gunshots," she frowned. "Something is off because the result of the test that I went through doesn't match any of her alibis," she said, referring to what Elizabeth had just said that he died of gunshots.

"I don't think he died because of gunshots, the information they gave is misleading," she said.

I kept nodding at her. "I think I know who the killer is," I pat her back, and then she looks at me with a lot of confusion. I went to Michael, who's busy speaking with Pahmares, who's presumably asking for some details to get him to deliver the case properly to the TV later.

"I know who the killer is," I said, making Greg and Elizabeth appear terrified in their position.

"Let's hear whatever my co-detective here wants to say," said Michael, letting everyone turn their attention on me.

"Oh, Mr. George Baker died at precisely 10:30 a.m.," I said before looking at my report, where I placed every information I've seen and found in these four walls. "He didn't die because of gunshots, but because of a head injury," so I showed them a picture of Mr. George Baker, his body was already taken, so I just took the photos with me. "And here you could see that the killer shot his head multiple times to make everyone think he died because of gunshots."

"That doesn't make any sense, why would anyone do that!" Elizabeth said in a high pitched accent. She was about to get next to me, but Pahmares stopped her.

"You might want to listen to her first," he said in a raspy accent, making Elizabeth flinch.

"It's to mislead us and take us to the wrong person," I stared at Elizabeth Baker. Her hands clenched as she looked at me. "You said you heard a gunshot and said that Greg was the one who shot his dad with his own gun. The gun Mr. Greg Baker has is a silencer, which means that you can't hear it while you're upstairs just as you said when Mr. George Baker was shot."

I saw Pahmares looking at me as he listened to what I was doing right now.

"Based on the test that our team went through, the gun that used to shoot Mr. George Baker is a silencer that proves the fact that you said it was owned by Mr. Greg Baker," I licked my lower lip before showing everybody an image of some of the bullets we got from the victim's body.

"T-Then Greg is the one who killed his father? Right? Right?" Elizabeth says in a trembling voice, attempting to prove that she's not scared or whatever.

"It may be right, but coming back to what you just said. You said you heard a gunshot, how did that happen?" I tilted my head on the other side.

"B-because..." she stopped, and I found that she was beginning to play with her fingertips, an indication that she was already panicking, "...silencer still has a sound and...

"But it doesn't change the fact that it's not that loud to create a sound that you'll be able to hear from a distance, like being upstairs," I said and sighed.

"Are you implying that I am the one who murdered my own husband?”

"No," I said calmly

"Is it me, then?" Greg stood up and I saw that he was trying to have eye contact with Elizabeth.

"Both of you are not the killer,"

They all look lost as they looked at me.

"But both of you are trying to cover up the real killer," I stared at the kid who was sitting in the back of the refrigerator. "You're trying to cover up that your son is the one who killed your father," I looked at Greg "and your husband," and then I turned to Elizabeth.

The shock has been written all over their faces.

"The cause of Mr. George Baker's death is a head injury that was caused by striking his head with a five-inch stiletto that you own Mrs. Elizabeth Baker... bullets are all to cover up the true explanation why he died so that you might point your fingers to Mr. Greg Baker. Since obviously, he's the only one who owns a gun, but you didn't really mention that he's the only one who knows how to use one.

"And that's what makes everything interesting," Pahmares said, and then he smiled at me.
