Bet for Love

Prologue

"Look, Georgina's coming," someone from the boys said. Jake Contreras pulled out his head from his notebook and follow Connor's line of sight. And the university's reigning queen enters the room together with her best friend, the infamous Jade Ann Velez. "Damn, Deo! He's just my type. Look at those curves. Perfect 10!"

The half Filipino half Brazilian student Georgina Meneses that all males have eyes on looked just like she's stepped on the runway. Or she did, remembering she'd introduced herself as a freelance model during their first year. She made the university uniform look casually chic and sexy. It hugs her curves in all the right places and shows her long legs. Her brown mane hangs all the way to her waist. His eyes rolled down to the pair of flats she's wearing, far from the killer heels he'd been sporting on magazines.

While Jade Ann looked sweet and bubbly, Georgina is wild and sassy. Jake thought as he fixed his glasses that the likes of her don't fit to be here. Rumors says she plays around and maybe it's a fact considering how boys surround her like a tempest.

Georgina must have felt she's being watched so she looked over to them, to the boys sitting at the faraway corner of the room. Connor and the rest of his gang whistle thought they caught the attention of the supermodel wannabe.

But honestly, she's looking directly at him, her arresting brown eyes met his. And he couldn't fathom why she pays attention to such nerdy looking guy as he is. She pulled a half-smile on her lips as if she's trying to play innocent or something. He just cocked a brow and ignored the vixen. Study first before anything else, he cites his mantra as he resumed reviewing for the exams.

"So we've met again," Jade Ann sat beside him and pulled out some stuff from her bag; notebooks, books, pen case. He heard she's on the Dean's list. "I hope you don't mind I sit next to you. I can't study being with George and the boys around."

"No worries." He said. "I bet it's hard to be with the Queen?" He asked out of the blue, tapping his pencil on the open book. Jade Ann laugh.

"Queen? Do you mean George?" He nodded. "Actually she is most of the time. She got these quirks I can't handle but if you look closer and know her better, Georgie over there is just as good as me. Well, if she would want to," she said knowingly. He was about to retort the idea when the professor came inside the room. Everybody sat in their respective seats. And don't know what Georgina got on her pretty little head of hers that she exchange seats with Kristal and sat on the chair in front of him.

"What's the deal between the two of you?" Georgina looked back and questioned the two of them. Her perfectly plucked brows almost made one-liner. "Are you dating my friend, Contreras?'

"He's not, George. Don't pry." Jade answered while jotting down notes.

Georgina seemed pleased. "Oh, is that so?" and with one last look to him, she pulled her self and began to focus on the lesson ahead.

Jake let it pass. It's those little moments that the 'IT' girl realizes that he exists. Normally, she's with Jade Ann most of the time. If she got extracurricular activities, it was unknown.

"Hi," Jake looked up to see two first years in front of him. He's sitting on one of the benches under the old Narra tree reading a book as a past time. 'This is awkward but please accept our gifts. We bake cookies for you." And his eyes go down from their blushed faces to the presented gifts, cookies wrapped in colorful plastic with ribbon to tie it up.

Didn't know what to say, he accepted the gifts. "I...Well, Thank you," he said shyly. It's a first knowing there's a lot of faces on the campus that girls talk about. He smiled at the gesture, appreciating small acts. "Will you bake again for me next time?' Cookies and other pastries had been part of his breakfast having a baker as a mum. He doesn't have the heart to turn them down. And what's not to like about cookies.

There faces turned bright red. Stammered, Eli said, "Of...Of course! We'll bake cookies for you. Right, Tina?" Tina seconded. And the two merrily leave him telling they had a huge crush on him. Imagine the red crept on his cheeks. Another first time someone confesses to him directly.

If only he's aware of how Georgina watched him from afar...

Georgina witnesses it all. From the corner of the gymnasium while chatting with some players she saw two freshmen approach Jake. So the nerd guy knew how to smile all along?

And a part of her felt insulted how those silly girls make him smile while he can't even stand her presence? That's humiliating! No one had ignored her the way that nerdy Jake Contreras did. And so Georgina walked towards Jake, determined to prove her point.

That no one, even him can resist her.

"Come with me," unable to respond, Jake followed Georgina whose hands are on his uniform and literally dragging him out of his place.

He allowed her to drag him on the unused storage room full of armchairs and tables. When they're inside, she instantly locked all the doors and closed the windows before she focus to him.

"What is this all---"

She grabbed the lapel of his uniform and pulled it towards her. The minute her lips meet the inexperienced lips of the nerdy guy felt surreal. It was lusciously soft. Untainted and here she was, devirginizing such sweet lips. Or so she thought.

Jake wasn't sure what was happening. It was clear that Georgina was toying him but the hell's wrong with him that he responds to her kisses. She leads, tongue forcing its way on his mouth demanding he submitted to her fully.

In some deep recess of his mind, Jake knew making out with Georgina is never good. Yet his tongue probed and licked and she fought to keep up. Now, he's on the upper hand.

She felt his hands slide around her waist and down to her bottom. Then felt herself being lifted onto the nearby table. He moved between her legs, his body loomed over hers. Heat rushed through her as his hands were on her waist, feeling and learning its shape. Her arms locked around his nape, finger dug on those soft, ebony, natural medium length waves.

She pulled out on the heated kiss, lips are still touching and yes, his minty, fresh breath is fanning her face. "Gotcha!" she whispered, trailing her fingers over the cutie's cheeks and jaw. "You can't resist me. You want me, Jake." She removed his glasses and stared at those beautiful, soulful pair of brown eyes. "Admit it." Her eyes drank him now. No, he's not the nerdy guy everybody thought.

Beneath the glasses, lies a rather charismatic looking guy. They have the same eye color but she thought his eyes held so many emotions too deep to explore. She'd definitely like that roman nose and his well-defined brows that were a shade darker than his hair. His mouth looked forbidding, top lip not so full but the bottom lip is perfect. Perfect for nibbling, kissing, and...

And something more...

Thinking about those lips is fatal.

"There's nothing to admit, Georgina," his voice came low, deep. He grabs her arm and snatched his glasses away. "You're messing up with the wrong guy." His jaw harden at how she draws him to the pit. He pulled a hand through his hair, raking it back from his brow. And she had the gut to smile widely at him, showing those perfect set of teeth.

Jake felt as if he was going to snap soon with the tension building inside him. But he couldn't. He wouldn't want this vixen knows the power she has over him.

Amusement flash in her brown eyes. Her brows lifted. "Oh come on! Don't spoil the fun---" She caught her own breath when he claimed her lips into a feverish, hot kiss. Different from before and different from the boys she had kissed before him. He kissed her with so much expertise it's hard to swallow he's the nerd guy from her class.

Seconds after he let her lips off, swollen from his kisses. "I don't play silly games, Georgina," he's grinning now, that teasing smile she'd never seen before. "I fucked hard. So go back to your boyfriends and fuck each other's minds and I wouldn't care." He pulled his body away from her and left the room.

She struggled to take this in---he left her in shock, trembling. But she was afraid it was more with his proximity than her anger.

Cursing herself for this very unwelcoming resurgence of desire, Georgina get off the table and act nothing happened when she returned back to the gymnasium. On instinct, her eyes searched for the bastard but he's nowhere to be found.

Screw him! She uttered under her breath as she watched the on-going play on the bleachers. Her face is red in fury.

I hate you Jake 'fucking' Contreras, she swore once more.
