When in Egypt

PROLOGUE

46 BC… Egypt, Horeb City.

One day...A group of clan discovered a trove cave full of treasure. There is one saying goes that, the treasure was too great for anyone to have, not even a king. They rejoiced when they found it. But unknowingly, there’s a countless army of Anubis living underground or to be more exact the underworld. The Anubis is half man and half jackal. While the clan was rejoicing for the treasure that they found, the Anubis was accidentally alarmed. And all of a sudden, the Anubis appeared in front of them one by one. The clan was terrified, and none of them could stand to fight.

They tried to escape, but the Anubis surrounded them. They were trapped and nothing to do just to wait for their demise. But suddenly, one of the Anubis fell in the ground. The Anubis was constantly being killed, and to their great surprise, the one who fought was one of their comrades, Ammon. He fought valiantly until there was only one left. He was so brave.

His companions rejoiced for what he had done but were unaware that it was just the beginning. A moment later, another Anubis was approaching and increasing in number.

Ammon told them to retreat, they ran out of the cave and left Ammon behind. He hid behind the huge rock, the Anubis were continuously emanating from the underground.

Finally, one last Anubis came out. He was wearing an amulet pendant. He is the God of the Anubis. Ammon heard it said that they would occupy the entire city of Horeb. Ammon escaped immediately and returns to the city of Horeb to warn the people to leave the place. But only a few believed and followed him. Ammon left with some of his clan. Then the Anubis took their place in the city of Horeb, and they sowed in desolation. They killed everyone until the entire city was occupied by them, and it was then called the city of the Anubis.

A few days later…… Ammon was captured by the men of a kingdom led by a pharaoh, because they found out that he was the cause of the Anubis' outburst. They imprisoned Ammon and enslaved him like captives who had long been detained in the slave area of the kingdom of pharaoh. One day, Ammon attempts to escape, but unfortunately, he was caught by pharaoh's disciples. And as a punishment, he was thrown into the desert, called the desert of death. Ammon was left alone. He felt that he could no longer live. He was just waiting for his fate. But as he walked, he saw an object glowing in the sand.

He picked it up. It was a rectangular golden plate. He examined it carefully, there were engraved symbols on it. And it turns out that he can significantly read the symbol engraved in the golden plate. He rubbed it and read the first symbol. Then, unexpectedly something occurred, the God of the Anubis suddenly appeared before him. Into his great surprise, it knelt down and worshiped him. From that very moment, Ammon found out that he could manipulate the Anubis through the golden plate.

“Take me to Horeb!” Ordered Ammon.

“Right away my Lord!” The Anubis said and he bowed his head to Ammon. And for a moment, Ammon found himself in the presence of countless Anubis and knelt before him, he was worshiped by them. Ammon could not believe in his newly discovered power through the golden plate.
