Twin Billionaire's Little Bird

Two Birds, One Stone

"...Ahh", I let out a hot breath. I wasn't sure if it was oxygen running out or if I am simply too nervous.

"There she is, my lovely little bird.", the man in front of me said as he pulled me in closer, grabbing my arm. "Who said she was only yours? She is OUR lovely little bird." Another man, looking exactly like the one who pulled me, spoke and also did the same to my free arm. Now I am stuck in between the two of these men who probably see me as their play thing.

My name is Carmilla Jones and my family was indebted to these two men in front of me, Caesar and Daemon. Identical twins and filthy rich bastards. If I am their little bird, then they are my little devils. In the end, my parents sealed the deal and sold me to them, the Von family. Now I am here, wishing for freedom to get away from these two.

"Mhm, I'm about to head out my dear brother. I have some business to attend." Caesar, the longer haired twin spoke softly and gently released my arm. His hair is long and straight while his twin has an opposite shorter haircut. As the two converses, I am simply listening in silence. Until now, I don't know who they really are.

"Okay, you are always busy. Why don't we go have fun this weekend?" Daemon, the other twin who is still holding me by my arm finally released me and walked up to Caesar. Both of them are always wearing expensive looking clothes, but today, they're both wearing a plain black suit and tie.

Caesar smiled at his twin, "No problem dear brother. I always make time for our family, you know that." He winked and Daemon simply smirked. Caesar turns his eye on me, "I'll be gone for a while, you take care of the little bird." He said in a gentle tone of voice.. and as I heard those words, my heart skipped a beat. What does he mean by that?

"You don't have to tell me. I've been bored lately. I will have a lot of FUN with Carmilla." Daemon gently touched his chin and looked at me from head to toe. It almost felt like I was being undressed by his gaze alone. I turned my head away from him, what else am I supposed to do? "Where are you looking?" Daemon suddenly placed his hand on my cheek and made me turn my head back to him.

I heard Caesar chuckle softly. "Don't be so rough on the lady. After all, we should treat her like a guest.. despite her family's debt to us. We, the Vons must always be nice to women." He sounded as if he was calmly lecturing his twin, but Daemon doesn't care. He won't listen to anyone.

"As if you are as nice as you say Caesar. Go on now and leave me alone with Carmilla." Daemon pushes his twin brother Caesar out of the room - and shuts the door close. "See you later" Daemon jokingly said with a smile.

Finally, I mustered the courage to speak up. For some reason, when the twins are together, it gets harder for me to talk. "How long will I be here.. What do you want to do to me?" I asked Daemon, but I couldn't look into his lovely heterochromia eyes. On the left, his eye is sage green. On the right, it's gold. Both twins have the same eyes.. but why does his seem more intimidating?

When I stand next to the Von twins, I feel little. Compared to them, I am simply an average girl. However, is this alright? Am I supposed to be here? What will happen to me from now on? My anxiety looms in... I cannot help but wonder and fear at the same time.

"Your family gave you to us. Obviously you'll be staying here forever." Daemon answered my question and walked past through me to sit on the sofa. "In this house, there's only you, me, my twin and the other servants." He said with a flat tone of voice as he grabbed the remote and turned the television on. Now, there's extra noise in the background and I feel more relaxed. "Can you pay your parents' debt? Obviously, not." He said, mocking me.

"I am not my family's property. I am an adult, they can't just sell me to anyone. Besides, slavery is not okay in this time of age. It's the modern world. Slaves are illegal." I decided not to back down so easily. I protested against Daemon and stood in front of the TV, blocking his view.

"You're naive, aren't you?" Daemon simply glanced up to look at me, causing me to fall silent. I gulped, thinking that I must have angered him. But there's no backing down now.

All of a sudden, Daemon grabbed me by my hand and pulled me close - eventually causing me to lose balance and fall on him. I landed on his lap and now I find the situation very awkward, but for some reason, I've lost the strength to move away.

"Modern day slavery is right in front of your eyes... you're just too blind to see it. That's how the world works, the sad, unfortunate reality." Daemon wasn't smiling, he was talking seriously and I could sense the fierceness from his eyes. "In fact, you're actually lucky." Gently, he runs his fingers through my hair. "You're owned by two billionaires - any other girl would die just to become ours."

"Not all girls are materialistic. If they see how you act-" I was cut off the moment Daemon moved his head closer to my neck and he began breathing close to my ears, giving off a ticklish feeling. I felt my body tremble from the hot air coming from his breath, I am confused... am I afraid, or simply excited?

"Just behave and be a good girl, alright?" Daemon whispered in my ear and released me. Quickly, I seized the chance and moved away from him.

What have I gotten myself into? Why did my parents do this to me... There are so many questions inside my head, that in the end, I only choose to be silent.

"Once Caesar comes back, we will talk. For now, take it easy and enjoy our humble home." Daemon stood up from the sofa, smiled at me, and walked away.

Left alone inside the spacious, extravagant room, I stared at the door for a few minutes. I had some time to think about the situation and to calm myself completely. Still, I could not forget the day I first came here.

- TWO DAYS AGO -

I remembered seeing my parents for the last time. They were being weird that night, telling me they love me and to forgive them for their imperfections. I simply smiled back at them, telling them that it's okay. I grew up as a responsible adult under their guidance, what more could I ask for?

Then I went to bed, feeling satisfied after having a good cry with my loving parents. Little did I know, I would wake up inside a cage the next day.

"Who are you.. where am I?!" I raised my voice and asked in panic. There was a lady who wore a maid uniform. She only looked at me and walked on, ignoring me as she continued sweeping the floors. I looked around and realized... I am trapped inside a cage that was placed inside a humongous bedroom.

"Don't ignore me, please help me!" I yelled at the lady, but she acted as if she couldn't hear a thing. Eventually, an old lady also wearing a maid uniform finally came close to me. "My apologies, miss Carmilla", the old lady said. Her voice sounded kind. "Who are you.. Why do you know my name?" I asked as I frowned. "Can you let me out?"

"Oh, no worries. The masters will return soon and you will be allowed to leave your... cage." The kind lady hesitated to mention the word at the end. As she spoke, I wondered what she was talking about. I've never seen this woman in my life, let alone have any idea about her masters.

Wearing nothing but a plain white spaghetti strap dress, I waited uneasily inside the cage. I don't know how long I sat there to wait, until I fell asleep. When I awakened, there was still no one around, but I found a plate of food I've never tasted before. I refuse to eat food from people I don't know, so I stubbornly turned my back on it.

Finally, the tall door opened... and I felt an intense pressure inside my heart.

"You're awake. Good morning" The man spoke, and that man was apparently Daemon. The two identical twins stood out to me. "Who are you?" I asked as I stepped away until I reached the other corner of the cage. "My name is Daemon Von, and this is my twin, Caesar Von. Don't you remember us?" He smiled and raised his arms open.

"We were childhood friends... if you recall us playing by the old country side, when we were taking a vacation at our dear grandparents' villa." Caesar crossed his arms, in contrary to Daemon's open arms. Wait, childhood friends...

These bastards were the twins I used to play with when I was young?! But why are they here now, and why am I here with them?

"Before you ask anything: Your parents sold you to us to cover for their debt and we agreed. So, we basically own you now." Daemon stood in front of the cage and pointed a finger to me with an arrogant smile on his face. "Hmm... but what should we do with her, really?" Caesar asked his twin.

"I don't know, really" Daemon shrugged and raised a brow. "Oh I know, since the family is deciding who should be the heir, how about we compete on who wins her first? Whenever we compete with anything, we always end in a tie. But if it's her..." Daemon glanced at me. "It can be fair. We can finally put an end to this endless rivalry of ours." He sounded excited... but I was confused on the other hand.

It was all too much for me to take.

"That again with our competition... fine then, let's see who wins. If it's some other girl, we won't know for sure if their answer is genuine. Carmilla can be the fair maiden." Caesar seemed to play along Daemon's games. He walked up to the cage and pulled out a key. "Hey, what are you doing?" Daemon asked him. "Letting her out, of course. This would be my first point then. A caged girl being set free by a hero." Caesar was obviously joking, and I do not see him as any hero. You two were the ones who put me in this cage... in the first place.

"Very well, you can take the first point. However, I will definitely win this game." Daemon laughed and watched Caesar open the cage for me.

Caesar offers his hand to me and smiles, "Come on out, you're free to go." Despite his kind appearance, he is no longer the childhood friend of mine that I knew... people grow up and change, so I refused. "Hm.. guess I'll let you be. Come out when you're ready." He winked playfully.

"Don't even try to leave the mansion or there will be punishments." Daemon leaned on the cage and smirked. "Let's go brother, I'm hungry."

As the twins left, I contemplated revenge inside my head. If my family is indebted to them, then they must be the one that caused my parents to suffer. In the end, I decided... I refuse to be their toy. Instead, I can kill two birds with one stone.
