Diana

So Anna and I are planning to go out of school today. You know, to get clothes for the party. Yes, she didn’t listen to me but when does anyone ever.

“So what do you plan on getting?” She asked, all giddy and stuff.

"I'm not getting anything," I rolled my eyes. I was just going there for here since I was that amazing friend.

"But you have to get something! It would be awkward if I'm the only one who's going to be shopping!" She whined. I swear, if I hear that annoying whine one more time, my ears would probably explode.

We were already at the gates when one of the guards stopped us.

"Students?" He asked and Anna nodded. He brought out his walkie-talkie and started talking

Soon after, Xavier came out of the school's front doors with a folder in his hands. Behind him was Jason who was juggling a few binders stacked on top of each other.

"What seems to be the problem?" Xavier asked the guard, not even glancing our way.

"These ladies want to go out, sir."

"Why is that?" Jason turned to me, then to Anna.

"We just wanted to buy something other than uniforms, right Diana?" I heard Anna say. My eyes widened.

"I was just accompanying her. You know, being the great friend and all that," I forced a smile and turned to Xavier who looked somewhat amused.

"Warnings for both of them. We'll bring you back to your rooms," was all he said before guiding us back into the school building. Wait, warning?! You mean, we can't even go outside? A student can only have 3 so this means I have 2 left. Basic subtraction, really.

"Diana Claire and Annabella Woods," Xavier told Jason who was now scribbling something in one of the binders.

Good thing classes were over I didn't really have the energy to go. Well, when did I ever but that's besides the point. Jason volunteered to drop Anna off in her room which was in the opposite wing so I was left with Xavier.

"So…" I tried to start up a conversation but I really had no idea what to talk about. I hated how tense the atmosphere was.

"So what?"

"So, I don't know what to talk about."

He chuckled.

"You know, for someone who had just been caught, you're pretty chill."

"Why? What about the others?" I asked, trying to keep the conversation going.

"Most were bawling their eyes out, a few were begging for their moms. Well, there are the calm ones which only make up 1 percent of the bunch and well, the violent ones," he rambled. It was pretty amusing to talk to him if I had to be honest.

"What about the violent ones?" Right now, I was genuinely interested unlike a while ago where I was just talking to him to lighten the tension.

"One kept flailing his arms around and hit me in the guts. Another kept kicking me in the shin. The worst one punched me in the face and almost broke my nose," he smiled.

We were getting closer and closer to my room and I was starting to dread having to stop talking to him. As much as I loved my bed, I feel like I could spend a few more minutes away from it.

We kept talking about random things. How the school was before the new headmaster, the students he gave warnings to, our lives outside of school. But alas, all things must come to an end.

"So…" I started as we got to the door of my room.

"So what?" He smiled, trying not to laugh.

"So, I don't know what to talk about." I smiled back. It's funny how we started and ended the conversation with the same thing.

"It's almost curfew. Did you get anything for dinner?" He asked after checking the time.

I shook my head, suddenly noticing that I was starving.

"Do you want to join me? I haven't eaten too," he invited.

It was just about an hour until curfew and I didn't want to get caught by the guards. But I couldn't just let him eat alone. That would be sad.

"Do you want something to eat? I stashed a few things inside. It's not much," I offered, remembering the stack of cup noodles I had in the dresser. I also had a few bags of chips and some drinks.

"I don't think I should," his face flushed. Oh, I guess it would be bad for his image if he was found entering a girl's room at night.

"It's fine. I trust you," I reassured, grabbed his wrist and pulled him inside. Once he entered the room, I shut the door and started heating the water.

"Cool room," he commented. I looked back at him and found him staring at almost everything in the room like a clueless puppy.

Honestly, my room was just like every girl's room. I've been into Anna's and it was exactly like mine except she had a few posters of a famous idol. The only decorations I had were a few Polaroids of my friends and a few fairy lights since I can't sleep in total darkness.

“Spicy?” I asked, referring to the cup noodles.

“Sure.

Once they were done, we started eating.

“Why are you so red?” I asked, trying to hold in my laughter. He was gasping for air and was even redder than a tomato.

He didn’t answer and kept slurping the noodles.

“You wanna switch?” I offered him my non-spicy cup noodles. He nodded sheepishly, noodles hanging from his lips.

I liked this version of him. The version that wasn’t all Student Council President and all. He wasn’t scary at all. He was just a regular guy who wanted to do regular stuff. This wasn’t President Gomez, big, strict and playboy leader. This was just Xavier, a normal, smart and dorky student.

It was fun but the night has come and if he were caught exiting a girl’s dorm, that would mean an infraction.

“You’re still coming to the party, right?” He turned around and questioned before opening the door.

“Why not? It’s not like I have anything better to do,” I chuckled.

“See you there,” he smiled and left, closing the door behind him.

“See you there.
