Chapter 4

Nickolas stretched his lips wide as he sees the loot he has stolen from his unmet enemy.

"You're too easy..." His deep voice rasped through his throat, taking a handful of gold in his hand. "Too easy, Captain Slate. I bet I can slit your throat with one move." He devours the look at the gold, chuckling evilly.

Suddenly, the door in his quarters opened, vomiting out his quartermaster. He looks at his right-hand man.

"Oh, Mr. Taylor." He rolls his eyes from him to look at the gold bar. "What made you step into my quarters?" He examines the gold bar.

He bows at him slightly, the quartermaster's eyes were fierce. "We have lost track of the Theorisa, Captain." He reports.

Hearing this, Nick immediately laughs aloud, thinking that this is just funny. Mr. Grim smirks in victory.

"Oh my... Oh my oh my oh my!" Nickolas chuckled and used his long and slender finger to wipe the tears out of his eyes. "They're a dumb heck of a crew!" He deeply laughs again, shaking his head.

Taylor Grim agrees.

Nickolas sighs deeply, still can't move on from the thought of the new young captain. "Haha... This young Captain. Captain Slate, you say, don't you agree with me that he's too easy to handle?" The Captain plays the gold bar on his hand, making it jump up and down on his large palm.

Mr. Grim sways his head, "He'd be in no level with us, Captain."

Nickolas Thorne huffed, making his chest rise, "That is right, my quartermaster... That is right." He played with his tongue inside his mouth.

Mr. Grim nodded, "I will have my other people to know what he's up to if that is... To your consent, Sir." He sought permission from his head.

"No, no..." Nickolas surprisingly shook his head, making Mr. Grim to furrow his brows. He chuckles, "Let us not bother the little rat. Let him and his crew be. Because once our ships meet, it'll be the end of them."

Nodding in realization, his quartermaster bowed. "As expected from the greatest captain of all... There will be no one in this ocean that can steal your title." He obliged, delighting his captain.

"Oh please, Mr. Taylor..." His raspy voice amused as he raised his arm to show his palm to the latter, "Do not compliment me with your words." Captain Thorne waves his pointed index finger, "It just makes me want to kill him even sooner."

The Pirate King chuckled octaves down deeply, the thought of the young man in his mind.

-

Captain Slate gathered all his important men inside his quarters, they must plan everything perfectly for the attack.

He has 5 most important people inside his ship. Those were his family inside her household, the most trustful men she could ever have.

"Okay, let's start this arse-numbing plan." She seriously said, making some of them want to scold her for her ugly speech. However, most of them already laughed.

Her ears were as sharp as the elephant's, immediately glaring at those who laughed at her foul statement. The two suddenly zipped their mouths.

"Watch your lips, Mr. Hawkins and Mr. Gunner." She mumbled in a warning tone. "Or I might take them off before we could even start this meeting." She was very feisty, and they all loved it.

She was still the youngest of them all.

The two men pursed their lips, obeying immediately as she said so.

"Now! Please, Mr. Sailor, the map." She looks at her former butler who had a paper on his hand.

Hearing the order of his Captain, he clears his throat as he leans on the table and spreads the map. "Here it is, my captain."

She smiles weakly at him, "Thank you, Mr. Sailor." Her eyes skim through the map of the Bahamas.

The seriousness in her eyes can be seen, the shine inside them can't be erased. Everyone liked her whenever she was serious.

Mr. Hawkins, although he already has the biggest eyes on earth, widens his eyes more, having that same feeling. Remembering that memories that he had with her when they were still young.

They were childhood friends. They used to play swords, and he remembers how she was always serious in kicking his butt.

The thought of their childish fights made him smile suddenly. His cheeks blushed tomato red.

The Captain was too focused on the map, didn't notice how his childhood friend looks at her.

But William did.

Jealousy and bad feeling tingling his insides, Mr. William changed his place and pushed away Mr. Hawkins that was beside Joana before glaring at him.

They both had a huge height difference, and Mr. Hawkins couldn't fight back whenever it's William. So, he rolled his eyes away, averting his gaze from the beautiful lady.

"Okay, okay. Men." She catches their ears, her eyes still locked on the map. She points her finger on a place, "This... is clearly where they will anchor their ship. So..."

Her former butler barged in, "If they will halt their..." He thinks, slapping the Captain's hand away. Joana was a bit pissed off, yet she took it all in. The youngest breathes in deeply. "It's best to anchor our ship... Here!" He points at a place.

Their eyes all widen. "What?!" The Captain furrows his brows. "Mr. Sailor, are you INSANE?!"

"So, you are saying..." Mr. Gunner slammed the table. "Excuse my disturbance, if you may... That we are going to anchor our ship on the opposite side of the place?! A whole island in between our ships?!" He was a bit panicked by the hesitant plan.

Mr. Sailor looked at all of them calmly, nodding his head once. "Right."

The Captain thinks, "But why?"

He points at the map as he explained, "Their ship is fast and they are fast ship drivers. They could always catch up on our pace." He reminds, "If we anchor here..." He points to another place near the enemies' obvious stop, "...they will definitely kill our us and destroy our ship."

They all sighed, nodding their heads. Understanding the good point of the old man.

Joana thought very deeply about it before coming up with a better plan. Her head tilted to the side before seeing something wonderful. Her lips stretched out into a smile before leaning over the table and pointing at a hidden place, "How about we anchor our ship... here?"

Pointing at a small cove near the main port of Cabo Rojo, they all leaned over and checked it twice. It was big enough to hide and it had access to the ocean quickly.

After thinking about the possibilities, they all nodded in agreement. Captain Slate was indeed keen with small details and she had found a perfect place for them to hide.

"That's a good plan, Captain Slate but... Wouldn't it be very hard for us to transport the loot?" Mr. Gunner crossed his arms, tilting his head to the side.

Joana looks at all of them, "This is where we split up."

"Split up?" Mr. Feather asked.

Mr. Sailor suddenly realized what Joana meant and he nodded his head, "That is right."

Joana thought of this hard. She knew that her butler was already giving her hints regarding the plan. Taking a little bit of time while the others were worrying about it, she slammed the table hard, causing them to stop and hush.

All eyes came to her.

The Captain smirked, "We... Have a plan."

They had their meeting set for 3 hours, planning detailed. Nothing should go wrong.

If one is mistaken, everything will be a fail.

Mr. Sailor, the dictator of the whereabouts, has been assigned to take a good look at the ship. He will stay in the ship with the others assigned to protect the ship. Repairing and refurbishing the ship before the attack.

There will be four groups to separate and take the loot:

(One)

Their cook, Mr. Hawkins, will be taking good care of their meals for the next three days. Yet, that is not all he'll be doing. With his great knife and dagger skills, he will be taking some of his men to do the distractions and the security of the ship.

(Two)

Mr. Quarter will be in charge of taking care of the Maiden's supposed loots and will be running off with them. He'll also be the second overseer of this quest.

(Three)

Mr. Feather would bring his other trained men in archery to cut off their sails and take part in the loot stealing. The loot that Mr. William takes from the enemy’s ship would be separated into two and run off different directions.

(Four)

Mr. Gunner is assigned with the canons and the powder guns to good use. He will be in action with the Captain since they work together with the best. Both are in charge of the Theorisa's supposed to loot and will separate later to fasten the procedure. Twice the men they should bring since they will be the ones to attack the ship.

"So, are we all settled?" The Captains tapped the table, looking at all of them.

They all nodded, "Yes, Captain."

"Make sure that when we arrive, everything should be prepared perfectly before everyone takes a good rest. Is that clear?" She sterns her voice, narrowing her eyes to catch every glimpse of his men.

They all bowed once, "Clear, captain."

"If their Captain appears on sight... don't kill him. He's mine." She said through gritted teeth. Just the thought of the Pirate King blindfolded and, on the plank, makes everything better.

She smirked. They all had their eyes widen when they heard Joana's request.

Mr. Sailor looks at her with such worried expression, "But young Miss—"

She eyes him, "Refrain yourself from calling me that, Mr. Sailor. We do not want anyone to hear." Joana huskies her voice low, warning his old man.

The latter sighs in worry as the others reacted in their own way.

"I'll blow him down." She tightens the dagger she had in her palms that his father has given to her. "He'll pay for everything he has stolen. This time, I'll steal a lot that is his. Especially his heart." The image of his father in her mind, the confidence in her built. "No one dares to touch him..." She looks at her men, warning them. "...or you'll be the one in my hands."

Some of them gulped the lump on their throats. They all knew no one could beat her when it comes to sword fighting, archery, or even man to man combat.

She is one of the strongest women in their times. No one dared to anger her.

Hours later after their meeting, they arrived in Bahamas 2 days ahead of the Maiden.

They prepared everything in a day. All the carts, guns, bows and arrows, swords, daggers, food... Everything was perfect. Too perfect.

They had a rest for a day before preparing for their mission. Everyone was full and satisfied.

Now that the time has come, they went to their planned phases. In just a few hours, the Theorisa and its captain will arrive.

-

The smell of dawn was coming near and the only thought their Captain has in mind was...

"You'll feel how I felt, Nickolas. I won't let you take everything you stole. Not my ship, no one in my crew will be in your hands. YOU will be mine... Raise your flag, Pirate King, Captain Slate will take everything away from you.
