Chapter 1

"Captain, we are almost there." The sailing master of the crew had shouted down to inform his captain.

"Have you well managed to see, Mr. Sailor?" The captain's voice echoed up its way to the crow's nest.

"Yes, Captain Slate, Sir. I do believe we will be there in about half an hour." Mr. Sailor replied.

"All's well." The heavy voice of the young captain filled its whole ship. "Release all sails, we're heading straight to the port and fast!"

"Roger!" The men replied and all ran to their places.

The Captain of the Theorisa was not someone you can just meet or talk to.

The name is Jonathan.

Jonathan Slate, a young captain who was very skilled and accurate. Although its height was the smallest among the men inside the pirate ship, everyone respected their Captain.

Jonathan always wore a white coat that reached to the man's knees. A bluish, navy color of linings at the ends of his collar. The boots were always pure leather, light, and comfortable. It’s armored with a sword the captain has all his trust into. Made by the finest swordsmen which he did not steal.

She had prepared a pirate ship using all the money she had, the crew was her somewhat family. They grew up with her since she was born.

The captain's name wasn't truly Jonathan... But Joana.

Captain Joana Ruiz Slate

Yes, she was a very fine lady. A young woman who grew up in a rich family, everything and every love she ever wanted, was upon her.

But nothing is going to stop such a gentle lady to ship shape into a man, just to avenge her father.

At the age of 18, the known Pirate King has attacked their land. Stole everything they had, and especially stole her most precious belonging — his father.

For years of training, siding the thought that she's a young lady, she became very noble and strong. Despite her small height, she was very much masculine.

Her once beautiful shape has turned into a very strong woman which hid her femininity. Her long black hair has been cut short and gifted with a uni-gender face, she hid Joana under the face of another person.

"I will be Jonathan. Yet, still Joana. For my heart has always been her, but my blood that has been longing for the pirate king to be killed is Jonathan."

Joana will never forget the man who killed his father. She will forever despise him.

"Just you wait," Her jaw clenched. Her hand crumpled on the wheel of the ship, "I will come for you, Captain Nickolas Thorne." Her eyes focused on the ocean, it never was too hard for her to take him anytime.

Theorisa has lowered its anchor, some of the Captain's men rowed their boat down to take the loots from Dominica.

It took them after a while to see their own little boat coming back to their ship with nothing.

The Quartermaster took out a telescope, hand signaling the men from far away.

After receiving their reply, Mr. William Quarter hurried his way up. "Captain!" He called her.

She looked towards her right as she sees her most trusted righthand man, "Mr. Quarter, what is there you're running for?"

He panted, looking at her worried.

"Well then speak out, Mr. William."

"Captain Jonathan. The men...

Her brows furrowed, the same feeling whenever she guesses something’s wrong stirred her up.

"...someone took our loot beforehand." Mr. Will spoke.

The Captain's eyes widen, her hands tighten. She was not pleased with it at all.

"We are very sorry to sail late, Captain." He bowed down lowly to her.

Her jaws clenched, the other men seeing how she can get mad any time caused them to bow apologizing too.

She balled her fists, "Who did it?" Her voice was surely turned into a man's. No one could ever think that she's a girl just from hearing her voice.

Mr. William sighs as he kept bowed down, "Pirates from the Maiden, Sir."

Joana's eyes widen in anger, her tanned skin reddening on her cheeks. “Captain Nickolas Thorne, you say?

“Yes, Captain.

She cracked her fingers, "Is he still close?" She tries to endure her rage inside her chest, causing her words to fumble.

"The men have said they were here about half an hour ago." The quartermaster informed. "What would you want us to do, Captain?"

She looks at the sea with her raging face. She looks at all her men and raised her voice at them. "PULL THE ANCHOR! RELEASE ALL THE SAILS! PREPARE ALL THE CANONS AND GUNS AND SWORDS BECAUSE WE! ARE GOING TO BLOW SOME MEN TONIGHT!"

The sound of the men's cheering echoed through the whole ship across the land of Dominica.

Every man and every kid from Sailors to gunners, to boatswains, went to their positions and did what was told just so.

Joana was full of anger that she couldn't wait until the title would be given to her, she was furious to take him down already.

10 years of training and hard work, it will all be paid to succeed tonight. They are going to hit on the Maiden. And no one will stop her.

All of them busy, her quartermaster stepped close to her. He leaned down and whispered to her ear, "About time, Captain." He snickers.

She looked back at him in an agitated expression, "You do know, Mr. William Quarter, that you are at fault of this. Yet I treat you my most trustworthy man."

"That is because you loved me before, loving me now, and will love me in the future." He chuckled as he whispered, teasing the young captain.

She wasn't even flustered, "The only man I love is my father. Be grateful that I have rejected your proposal 10 years ago, or else you'd be dead by my hands right now." Joana reprimanded before she walks out to leave Mr. William.

He looked at her back, still as sexy as ever, he thought.

"Oh, she has changed alright." He spoke to himself while shaking his head before leaving his standpoint to supervise the whole ship.

Mr. William was Joana's former lover. At that time, they were arranged to marry each other. Joana, ever so obedient to her father, agreed to marry William.

But the damn Pirate Captain has ruined their plans with one rob in a night and one slit of the throat.

Since then, Joana never loved anyone but just his father.

No one interests her how to feel like a woman anymore. Added to that is her daily conversation with the crew, who are all men.

Despite Joana's situation, William has really loved her. And he still will be. He has been loyal to her for more than a decade, and his faith in loving her will never fade.

He loves her the most.

That is how he loves her truly, but Joana is too blinded by her anger at the Pirate king that she couldn’t see his sincere longing heart.

Only a quarter of her crew knows that their Captain's a woman. None other than that, especially the new ones, have no idea. It is for the Captain's safety and security.

-

Joana slammed the door behind her, locking it for her own privacy. She closes all the curtains, double checks them if there were any slits.

She muffles her anger inside her throat as she wielded her sword and placed it on top of her table. The shiny blade of her beloved sword can be seen.

Coast clear, and everything's locked, she started to take off her clothes. One by one, from her coat to her thin layer of garments.

She opened her trunk, took out some comfortable clothes because she needs to prepare for their fight. Of course, she must do it in style.

Looking at herself in the mirror, no traces of being a girl, she smirked a wide one.

"You will be mine soon, Captain Nickolas Thorne."
