Tidal Lies

Introduction & Prologue

“Rejoice! You’re privileged. If your goods and riches weren’t beauties, I would’ve killed you and your crew instead.

With a large grin on his face and a quick tilt of his old black hat, he bid the gentlemen goodbye before he holds onto the rope tightly and swung himself from the enemy’s ship to his.

“Till next time, gentlemen! And I hope to see you all well-dressed at our next meeting.” He and his crew laughed heartily at the gentlemen on the other ship who were now left only with their undergarments. Their clothes are now actually in good hands.

The pirates waved the expensive garments, bidding farewell as their ship sailed away from the newly-robbed vessel.

Highly expected from the Pirate King.

Captain Nickolas Thorne was named King of the Sea by the day he has succeeded robbing loots and goods from the great Navy, along with the riches of the Queen.

He was unstoppable. He was powerful above the deepest ocean.

No one could've beaten him. Until...

A day came and whisperings about a young captain who seemed to equal his high standards have started to spread across the ocean. He despised this new captain, just like any other captains, and has decided to defeat him, battling for the title.

But one thing all the pirates never knew about this new captain is that - the new young Captain... was indeed a fine young lady.

-Beginning-

The sound of the ocean was smooth and soft. No seagulls to be heard and the ship was far away from the sea. The Maiden was in the middle of the ocean and it swayed beautifully as it sailed.

This ship is known to all people for this belonged to the one person that everyone despised.

Captain Nickolas Thorne

Yes, the one and only who has robbed the Navy, stole from the Queen of London and did nothing but loot anyone he wished to take.

He is a freelancer on land but called the Pirate King on waters. Yet no one could ever turn their backs on him. No one even dared to be on his way.

One wrong action in front of him could cause you to suffer the next days of your life and even your whole life. It's either you pay him how much he wants, or off the plank with you.

Everyone despised him for doing soulless things to humanity.

He is, indeed, a millionaire. A millionaire who gets what he wants.

Yet there is one thing he never wished to have - a wife. Not even a lover.

No, he's not gay. I can assure you that. He just doesn't like women in general. In conclusion, he hasn't felt love and he will not love.

Nickolas has decided to grow old without a woman and die with his ship.

"Once called a Pirate, will always be a pirate."

And he wanted to live like that. No turning back.

Suddenly, his relaxing and rewarding slumber was disturbed by the sound of his quarter’s door being slammed open.

"Captain!" His righthand man, Taylor Grim, walked fast towards him.

The Great Pirate himself was just resting on his chair. His legs rested at the top of his table, hands, and arms on each side of the wooden seat, his head laid back.

"What has made you come running to me at this hour, lad?" He said with his eyes still closed.

Taylor placed the map on top of his table, making a loud thud. "Captain, it's all good news."

The captain, even though a bit irritated, decided to listen to his loyal lad. He opened his eyes and looked down on the map that the other has spread on his table.

"Make it short.

"Remember the new young captain that everyone's been talking about, Captain Thorne?" Taylor started.

Nickolas said nothing but glared at him instead. He didn't like this new captain that the world's been whispering about. For the reason of also doing the same things as Captain Thorne does, he is angered that he dared to get on the same level as the great Pirate.

His righthand man, realizing that his captain wasn't very pleased by this starter, went on with his news.

"Captain, we have located the places this new Young Captain goes to, when he goes there, and where he will go next." He looked at his captain rather excited, his eyes shone in a new adventure.

The Captain rose his chin, his eyes looking down at the map where red dots and other information were written. He was utterly pleased by his righthand man's good work.

"What do you say, my Captain?" He tilts his head to the side, eyeing his captain as he waited for an answer. "What do you say we show him who the real Pirate in the Seven Seas is." The danger in his voice was obvious. He was prepared to attack anytime.

Nickolas looked at his righthand man, very well impressed by the fast information and great plan he has prepared for their next goal.

He nodded once, "Job well done, Mr. Grim. Job well done."

The quartermaster bowed once; proud of himself, too.

The Pirate of the sea had something else in mind rather than killing the new captain... He smirked at the thought, "Where will he be tomorrow?"

Taylor grinned, "They are currently on their way to Puerto Rico, Captain. And they will arrive there at 7 am sharp."

A smile stretched his lips as he huffed a chuckle, "Then what are we waiting for? We should arrive there first before the young lad gets there." His fingers gently rubbed his chin as he grinned. His eyes dangerously commanding his right hand.

Mr. Grim let out a chuckle, "Perfect, my captain. We will be there by dawn."

Captain Thorne raised his legs again on the table, leaned back as he laid down his head behind him, and took his old black hat to cover his face before resting his arms.

His husky and deep voice vibrated, "Set sail."

Hearing this was always a new adventure for the pirates, and this time would be an even greater opportunity to prove who's the greatest.

Taylor immediately ran out from the Captain's quarters, shouting commands to the crew who were highly energetic to support the Captain's orders.

"I am a pirate and I always will be."

He closes his eyes before relaxing into his chair, "Prepare your sword, Captain Jonathan Slate."
