CHAPTER 6: SHE CAME

Chapter 6

When I heard somebody scream.

“Yaaah! You are so noisy. Don't you see that you’re disturbing everyone?” she asks.

Everybody looked at the woman who shouts and to my surprise it was her.

My only seatmate.

“Hey! Jae-Eun, don’t try to interfere here!” the man holding my collar told her.

My gaze flews on her.

I was flustered upon hearing her name. Did I just hear my sister’s name?

“J-Jae-Eun” I whispered while I was still looking at her.

But I can’t figure out what she ’s thinking.

Then I saw her walking towards us and she’s holding a baseball bat.

Everyone can hear the eerie sound of the bat on the floor as she drags it coming to us.

I immediately look at my classmates moves completely.

Everyone goes back to their sits.

“I told you not to interfere,” the student said her while looking at her. His brows furrows.

“I told you not to do that when I am here,” she says coldly.

The student let go of my collar and move back without moving out his gaze at her.

She went back to her chair when she finally saw everyone is in their places. She looked at me and point her finger on my chair.

I immediately go back to my chair and sit. Did I just comply? Am I scared right now?

I didn’t notice that I was already looking at her for quite a while.

Until she looked at me as I saw her brow curved.

I look at her eyes trying to read what’s on her mind and luckily I saw a lot of things she wants to do… I don’t know if it concerns me but then I saw a glimpse of her looking at my lips and kissed me.

I was flustered a bit of what I just saw…

“Uhuh?” I said and smile

Her face turns to red as he saw me smile. She blinks a couple of times and tried to turn away from me.

I smiled. What did I saw?

Oh, my heart skips a little to my surprise. I thought I don’t have a heart anymore.

I tried to get her attention but obviously, she's trying her best to ignore me.

I don’t know what’s with her to scare those boys away. Did she save me from them?

Do I have to act weak in front of these humans?

She didn’t even bother to look at me during and after the class. I can’t tell what she’s thinking. Her face blushes every time she looked at me.

She went out first as the bell rang. I tried to follow her but I already saw her running through the gates. What? Is she trying to avoid someone?

Then I saw those boys followed her, should I follow them?

I don’t think they’re after her for she creeps them out earlier.

I took a sigh and chose to ignore her.

I decided to visit my father at his house. I don't know but this thing is keeping on bugging on my mind. I need to ask him about it.

“So how’s your first day in school?” father asked me as he moves from here to there. He's been very busy with his new job lately.

“Fine?” I said laughing.

“I am sorry if you didn't like it but I have to send you back to school,” he said

“No, it's fine. It’s just that I met different kinds of people out there and they creep me out,” I told him then I burst out a laugh.

“Would you believe that I was saved by a girl from those boys?” I asked.

“Oh!” he said trying to keep her laugh from bursting.

“Go ahead…” I said while holding my head.

He laughed so hard. This is not the first time I've seen him laughing but I think this is the funniest one.

Then I remembered something.

“But before I forgot, came to ask you something A-boo-jee. My heart skip a little when I was looking at her,” I asked him.

a-boo-jee smiled at me.

“So you found your mate?” he said.

I was a little surprised by what he said.

“My mate?” I asked.

“Yes, your mate. You know a vampire's heart skips for only one person,” he said.

“Did you had one?” I asked him again. I don't know but the topic made me anxious.

“Yes, I had one but she died just after 10 years of living together as husband and wife. He was your father’s older sister. Her name is Jin Mae, “He said

“Your father was only eighteen years old then and he lives with us. One night there was this young vampire who keeps on following my wife. He barges to our house with two more of his men. He was trying to take my wife and I wasn’t home yet. Your father is trying his best to fight them but the vampire bit him in his wrist. Then it collapsed so the vampire died. The two more men got mad and tried to kill him but my wife saved your father, so she was killed. When I got home she is already not breathing. That's why I didn’t have the chance to turn her like us.

Anyway, the vampire who died? He was the son of the vampire who killed your family. He waited that long. I guess he planned everything,” he said sadly.

“Does he know that I still exist?” I asked looking at abojee.

“I don’t think so, because if he did… he won’t wait,” he said while looking at me.

“Can I still kill a vampire with my blood?” I asked him again.

“Yes, of course. You were not emptied when I turn you into this,” he said.

I am furious to know who are they but I decided to keep it in me.

Then I hugged him and I took off.

I have been thinking lately if the culprit knows that I still exist or was he just waiting again for the right time to attack? Just like what they did to my family.

I should not let my guards down, not until I find him.

Meanwhile,

It’s been a little late when Jae-un came out from her work. She works every day to make ends meet. She works in a café to support her studies. The only person she has is her father, who choose to be drunk every day because he lost her mother. Her mother died 3 years ago, she was killed. She was found dead and almost blood drained. The forces cannot explain how, but she knows something is missing, and she ought to know what happened that day.

That day, three years ago.
