Chapter 4

Waking up bright and early today, I once again beat my alarm which thoroughly surprises me since that only happens once in a blue moon and now here I waking up before time everyday.

Shrugging out of bed I go into my bathroom to do my daily routine which consists of me taking a shower and brushing my teeth.

I change into my work attire which again consisted of a pencil skirt and a button up shirt with a pair of high heels.

I do my make up and walked into the kitchen to have my breakfast.

Surprisingly today I had woken up in a good mood.

I vow to myself that I will not let anything bring my day down, especially a 6 foot something heavenly looking man.

I would have a good second day of work.

With that mantra playing in my head I set out of my apartment, hailing a cab and going to work.

*****
Getting out of the cab I quickly rush up to the finance floor and straight to my desk placing my handbag there.

I turn around and am greeted with a beaming Candice who's coming out of Jeff's office.

We greet each other like giggling school girls and then hug as if we haven't seen each other in years.

I quickly walk down the small hallway to Jeff's office to say hi and show him I'm here.

"Good morning Jeff" I say cheerily.

"Morning hun, why are you so happy this early in the morning" he says smiling across from me, sitting at his office desk.

"No reason.
I'm going to go and pop over to the coffee shop, do you want anything?".

"Coffee, black, no sugars please".

Nodding my head, I go back to my desk, grabbing my handbag as I ask Candice what she wants as well before heading out of the building to the little coffee shop across the road.

Hugging out a breath, I mutter out 'excuse me's' here and there, finally being able to push past all the people in shop.

Apparently nearly everyone from all the different buildings come here to grab a coffee and what not before heading into work.

Keeping a firm hold on the cardboard tray and the coffees, I quickly cross the road and over to the other side.

Glancing at my watch I see I've nearly taken a whole twenty minutes just to go and get the coffee.

Mentally cringing I somewhat sprint to the glass doors, trying not to fall over in my heels.

Too focused on me not falling head over heels, I fail to see the person coming towards me in the same manner, rushing.

Everything happens in a split second.

One minute I'm heading towards the glass doors of the lobby, within reach and the next I'm slamming into a hard, firm wall.

"Shit, I'm so sorry.
I was in a rush a-".

Abruptly looking to my hand I see the tray missing one cup.

Looking towards the wall in front of me and towards what was once a crisp white clean shirt.

Which now was not so white, smeared a dark brown colour.

Cringing I look up, towards the owner of the shirt and once again cringe so hard I think I might look constipated.

Dread washes over me as the person snaps at me.

"Nora".

Just the sound of my name leaving Alexanders mouth makes me stiffen up and I know I am in deep shit.

Out of everyone in that God damn building it had to be him?

The person whom I thoroughly disliked?

The person whom has my entire life in his hand as he could fire me in an instant and black list me from nearly every job I could possibly want?

"Um sorry sir, I wasn't looking and I-".

Once again I am cut off but this time by the devil in front of me.

"Of course you bloody weren't looking.
It's to be expected coming from you".

What the hell was that supposed to mean?

The Jerk barely knew me and here he was throwing accusations here and there.

Reminded of my mantra today I put away all the ways I could curse him out and instead politely smile up at him.

Grabbing the napkins that came with the coffees I start to awkwardly pat the stain on his chest.

A couple of minutes or well more like seconds into this I realise I am almost groping the chest of the CEO of the company I work at, in the middle of the streets with people buzzing by us.

Blushing I slowly raise my head, my hand grasping the damp napkin still pressed onto his chest.

Alexander looks down at me with that smirk on his face and an eyebrow raised.

He grabs a hold of my hand and places it by my side.

"As much as I enjoy you getting handsy with me.
I'm getting late. I'll deal with you later Davis" and with that, he once again strides past me with me left standing there like an idiot looking back at him.

What the hell does he mean he'll deal with me later, the nerve of that guy.

Heading up to the fifteenth floor, I quickly rush towards my desk, giving Candice her coffee and Jeff his.

Of course it had to be my coffee that was spilled over that hot jerk faces shirt.

*****
The rest of the day passes by pretty much incident free for which I am incredibly thankful for.

At break I had obviously told Candice everything that had happened.

Both of us were getting along really well and I had already considered her my friend even with us only knowing each other for barely a day.

She had laughed and started going on about some cliché office romance thing to which I had obviously scoffed at.

I mean me and him together?
Yeah right.

He was like a living Adonis and I was well plain Jane.

Shaking the thought out of my head I bring my head back to the present which is me sitting at my desk, once again going through a stack of papers.

"You done yet?
".

Looking up I see Candice looming over me, handbag in hand and waiting for me to finish up what I was doing so we could head out together.

Quickly wrapping up I grab the stack of files and go to Jeff's office where I place the files and say goodbye after which I grab my handbag and both Candice and I head down to the elevators.

Reaching the lobby, Candice nudges me in the side and tries to discreetly point ahead of us.

Looking up I see Alexander walking towards us with a beautiful leggy red head on his arm.

The woman giggling and whispering into his ear.

He looks up towards us, smirking at me, before grabbing the woman closer and whispering back into her ear.

Scoffing at him and his idiotic tendencies I roll my eyes and walk out of the building in tow.

What the hell did I care that he was with some gorgeous model looking red head.

I barely even knew him and from what I do know, I clearly don't like.
