Two

Today was another day. Another day of waiting for my him in detention. He wouldn't come, I knew it so I already left when the school ended. I walked through my secret route, just to avoid thugs and him.

I had moved here last summer, in my first year of high school, but I would visit grandma every summer, that made living here a bit easier. Grey lived on the second street from our left, Kate and Joe were practically neighbors and they lived in my neighborhood. I had another friend, Elijah. He used to be the closest to me but he left for California after our first year.

I missed him. I missed Tyler, Britt and dad. Tyler,Britney and I grew up together. We were inseparable and when I was moving here, they literally broke up in tears. I had promised to call every day but it became impossible due to the time difference and studies.

I waited for Mr.Eugene. I didn't know why this guy had so many reasons to smirk at me whenever anything happened. I would feel my palms sweating whenever he did that. The pen even slipped once.

I remember when we first met.

I was new to this place. Grandma went to meet her friends at the old house so I went out for a walk. It was pretty nice due to the rain. I went to the park, had some refreshing games with few kids. There was this family of a couple with their three year old son. I loved the moment they held his hands and walked him around.

Those little fingers would've felt so secure, so loved in the hands of his mom. She would be holding with such a gentle gesture, as if he knows he's in the best hands he could hold. Maybe that is how a mother's touch feels like.

I could tear up any second so I left and ended up by a bakery, went inside to buy something for myself and grandma. She loved pastries, I bought her some. Took my stuff and headed back.

"It's getting dark." I looked at the sky. It was a shame that this sky made me happy. The darker the things were, the easier it got to hide them.

I walked out to the parking lot. Unloaded the stuff in my bike's basket. The clouds rumbled, and my guts gave me this sick feeling. I sang random songs to lighten up but I could feel someone staring at me. I turned my head a bit to look behind me and yeah there was a guy standing in the alley behind me. My hair stood at their edges.

I hurriedly got on my bike but the chain just got off.

SERIOUSLY?RIGHT NOW OF ALL TIMES?!

I dragged the bike and left. The man started to follow me. My palms got sweaty cause another issue just came up. I had forgotten the way. Where was I? I didn't know. I took out my phone, turned on my location.

I looked back, he was standing at ten feet apart. I gulped as my fingers started trembling. Grandma had warned me about street rats like him. I slowly moved forward. There were few pedestrians in the place. I couldn't even muster up the courage to ask anyone for help. My throat just went dry.

I kept on mumbling to myself that I should call grandma but she wasn't picking it up.

Great!

I turned at the corner, bumped into someone and fell. My butt hit the ground and I landed on my back. I was too scared to even notice what happened. I looked up, a young guy stood in front of me. He seemed pretty decent since the surprised look on his face indicated it.

"You okay?"He extended his hand at me. I took it and stood up. "I-I'm,"I stuttered and looked behind me. The man was coming. He leaned over to look at where I was looking. The moment he saw the man, he grabbed my shoulder and pulled me to the wall. My back hitting it.

Ouch!

"Don't move,"he hugged me, bending himself forward a bit to embrace me. I was shivering, so I hugged back unintentionally. For a sec it felt so warm and comforting but I was still in a shock. I didn't even know this guy. What if he were also a pervert? I stopped hugging and tried to pull away.

"I said don't move,"he whispered in my ear. I didn't listen to him and tried to break free. His grip on me grew stronger and he hugged me tighter.

This guy is trying to strangle me to death!

I pushed him again but failed. I gave in. Just dying like that was my fate. I already declared myself half dead for now.

"Okay I'll just di-"

"He's gone." The guy moved back. He had a pretty pissed off look on his face. I think I just messed up. I gave him a frog smile,"You were saving me?"

"Hmph,"he looked away, stepping back.

"I'm so sorry!"I panicked,"thank you so much!"

"It's fine,"he looked at my phone. "Where do you live?"

"I uh...I live near-"

And then he walked all the way to my place and dropped me. I couldn't thank him enough. I was grateful to this guy for helping me as a stranger.

"Meet me in school tomorrow,"he told me.

"Huh?"

"I'll be in the math class upstairs on third floor,it's with the piano room." His voice was soft and husky.

"Do you study there?are you a senior?"I frowned. He took off his glasses and ran his hand through his hair.

"I'm a teacher,see you at three tomorrow."

And that is how I was given detention for the first time in my class. Later on this savior turned out to be the most evil person I had met. I couldn't believe he'd give me punishment whenever he had the chance to.

I hated him for that.

He was unluckily my tutor now. Grandma so happened to bump into him at the market, he somehow helped her with her groceries and brought them to our place. Then who knows how my grandma offered him tuition without asking him anything about his job, just that he knew math and my grandma appointed him.

WHO DOES THAT?

And now I would face the wrath of this evil guy who had somehow managed to fool my grandmother so far.

So evil indeed.

I had clearly been waiting for my order, patiently and eagerly. It's McDonald's and it's good but it didn't mean that I'd be waiting for my order for more than an hour. I checked my phone. Called again. They told me they had delivered it already.

But who took it?Grandma was at the old house. She was visiting her best friend.

"Wait I didn't even hear the bell ring?!"I was puzzled. I didn't even pay for it yet.

I walked downstairs, there wasn't anyone in grandma's room. I walked to the lounge and saw him sitting there.

"Your door was unlocked."He waved at me,"Your grandma left me in charge!"

"What?"I crossed my arms, I just started losing it. "I'm in charge for today,"he got up from the couch, dusted his clothes,"did you order that?,"he pointed to the empty paper bag of my food.

"No!"I ran and checked it, it was totally empty,"You ate it?"

"None denies food at any cost,"he smiled.

"YOU-"

"You weren't in detention today...did you miss it?"His voice just took a serious tone.

I'm screwed.

"I uh...I waited for you but your weren't there." I needed to make it out of this conversation from the start.

"I was in the classroom from the start today,Ms.Bridges."

Shit that Ms.Bridges means I'm dead.

"I...I wait for you everyday!" Okay so I just said something I shouldn't...felt like that.

"And?"

"You never show up!"

"Mhm."

"I can't understand what I did to get into detention."

"You're always late,"he raised an eye brow at me.

"I-"I knew I was late but still,"but still...I have the best grades!"

"That's not an excuse,Nora."

I knew I had to turn the table in my favor so I yakked explaining myself without noticing that he had turned back to his phone without listening to me.

"Hey!"

"Nora,"he looked up. I got silent. He moved a bit close.

"What?"

"Did you ever notice it?"he moved even closer. I moved aback,"W-what?"

He didn't say anything and kept on moving closer. I kept moving back with him walking closer to me. He leaned forward, close enough for his breath to brush against me. He smelled like vanilla, mixed with clone and sometimes mint.

Clean freak.

I got that awkward consciousness again. The one that took over me whenever a guy would be closer than he should.

"Aren't you getting bold?"he whispered in my ear. My whole body felt numb. "I-I'm not!"

His hand moved behind my back, snaking around my waist, lowering itself and grabbing me.

He's my teacher!

My whole face was probably like a tomato right now. I closed my eyes as his half lidded eyes stared at me.

"You didn't check the oven."

"Huh?"

"I said you didn't check the oven."He moved back.

Okay major EMBARRASSMENT.

I escaped from him and checked the microwave. My food was in it.

"You didn't eat it?"I scrunched my nose. He smirked at me,"Feed me,princess.

"Gross."

He laughed at my face,"You are,we both know it."

"Urgh!"I complained,"I hate you."

"Same here,princess...same here." He turned on the T.V and started to watch a movie as if it was his own place. I wouldn't complain either since he was our neighbor after all.

Lucky bastard.
