Chapter 35 - Memory!

Third person's POV:

Fiona just slept and Brian checked her prescription. He could understand that she was prescribed antidepressant, sedative, vitamins, iron, folic acid supplements. But there were two more tablets he couldn't understand why these were for.

He decided to search about them in Google. His eyes widened in horror what he found in the search result. These were medicines prescribed after abortion. If patient's condition gets very critical and if the abortion affects the overy and uterine tube, normally these drugs are prescribed. These were high power drugs.

"Why she is prescribed these drugs? Why?" He asked himself. Tears pooled in his eyes thinking about the most obvious reason. His hands and feets were shaking.

He himself was a patient of high bp. He quickly drank a glass of water.

"Please, God. Don't let it be true what I am thinking." He prayed to God. He rushed inside Dr. O'Neill's room without caring for knocking.

"What happened to my daughter, doctor? Tell me the truth. Had she experienced an abortion?" Brian demanded an answer. His face was red in anger but his eyes were teary.

"Mr. Andrew, relax. Sit down." Dr. O'neil tried to calm him down..

"Dr. I am not asking anything which you can't give me. You have a family, Children as well. Think about them, what will you do if one of them were in my child's place? Please tell me what happened to my daughter. If you fear Adam, you have my words, I won't disclose it ever." Brian desperately asked, holding doctor's hands.

"Sweetie, don't stay trapped in this room. Let's go out. We are gonna eat lunch together." Brian said.

"I have made your favorite pasta and lamb curry rice." He added trying to cheer her up. Fiona gave him a nonchalant look.

"Fio, let's go. It may be very tasty. I smelled it while dad was cooking." Jack said. Fiona looked at him for a second and then gave a weak nod.

Her body was still weak so her steps were wobbly. Brian and Jack helped her walking.

When they reached the dining space, Fiona's eyes landed on the huge dining table. She saw Adam was sitting there already.

Her head spun.

Something rang inside her head, loud and clear.

"This is your place, at my feet!"

"What have you said, darling? Oh, I remember, dignity! Look at you, sitting at my feet, you are eating my leftovers like my pet dog. Does your current image show that you have any dignity left in you? You stripped your dignity while you crawled back to me, holding my feel for my leftovers. Dignity is defeated to hunger."

"You are nothing but a slave!"

Her head hurt, everyone in the room stilled for a second. She only saw one person, glaring at her.

Pointing at the floor.

She didn't dare disobey anymore. Last time, he sliced her stomach. She shuddered at the reminder.

Her feet worked. She sat on the floor, at his feet.

She was a slave, waiting for him to finish. Then she will get to eat something from his leftover.

"Fiona!"

"Fiona, darling!

"Fio!"

"Fiona, sweet pea! Get up. Why are you sitting here?"

Brian and Jack were telling her to get up but their words were falling to deaf ears.

"FIONA!" Brian yelled this time, gave her shoulder a vigorous shake.

"Snap out of it!" He bawled.

Fiona stared at him.

"Shhhh. Dad, I can get up. He said that I am his slave. I am not allowed to eat anything but his leftover. I will get to eat leftovers after he is done. Now, I have to wait or he will starve me, punish me." Fiona whispered in her father's ear. She was shaking in the mere mention of punishment, her face paled.

Is this how he treated you? Like a slave? Forcing to eat his leftover? Is he even a human? Brian thought.

Tears rolled down his cheek. He glared at Adam. Adam was looking at his plate, his jaw set tightly.

"Sweetie, get up. No one will hurt you. Dad won't let him." Brian stroke her hair.

Terrified Fiona shook her head frantically.

"Get up!" Suddenly Adam commanded.

His loud command did the work. Fiona got up immediately.

"Sit here." He gestured towards the chairs.

Fiona's body moved like a robot. She sat on a chair. Her head hung low, gaze at her lap. Shaking lightly at the heat of his hard gaze.

Brian sat beside Fiona with Jack.

"Fio, what's wrong with you? You became so scared." Jack questioned in a low voice. He was confused.

The maids served them food. But Fiona was sitting still, looking at her lap, too afraid to look up or move.

"Eat up!" Adam commanded again.

Her hands moved to hold the fork but it fell on the floor with a clink sound. She gasped.

Brian couldn't remain silent after that, "What the hell have you done to my daughter?!"

"You starved her, beat her, forced to eat your leftover?!"

"Now, I am certain. You don't have a drop of human blood in your body. I am taking her back to the room. She is traumatized." Brian stated. Without waiting for any approval from Adam, he took her back to her room.

Fiona was sitting on the bed. She hugged her dad and cried.

"Honey, calm down. I won't let him hurt you anymore. Not anymore. Just don't be scared. We are here." Brian stroke her hair gently.

"Dad, Let's leave here. Every corner of this place brings horrific memories for me. Please, Dad." Fiona whispered.

"Very soon, darling. Very soon."

"Don't be afraid anymore dear. Sometimes we have to become monster in order to defeat the real monster. Your freedom, is your right. No one can snatch it, I won't let him hurt you again, play with your life." Brian asserted.

"What are you saying, Dad?" Fiona asked.

"Nothing dear. You have to get well dear. Your well being holds the key to your freedom and justice."

Adam didn't enter their room but he had the maids sent foods for Fiona, her father and brother in her room.

Brian fed his daughter and son before eating himself.

Fiona was eating like a robot.

Suddenly she spoke, "Dad, you cooked this pasta. And the curry too. Didn't you?"

Brian nodded with a smile.

"You liked it?" He queried.

Fiona responded, "Very tasty. Dad, after so many days, I get to eat foods cooked by you." After they were done, maids took away the plates.

"Once I thought that I wouldn't see both of you again."

"Dad, all I want now is to leave this place as soon as possible and live a quiet, peaceful life away from all complexity, hatred, revenge, everything." She let out a deep breath.

Her eyes looked out of the window. She has been imprisoned for a long time. She wanted to see blue sky, white clouds, bright sun, feel the rain drops on her skin and above all, inhale fresh air.

She was way to hurt to take anymore pain. All she wanted was peace.

................................................................................................................................................................

Fiona was on sedatives, so she slept most of the time of the day. She woke up midnight feeling the urge to relieve her bladder.

Coming out of the bathroom, she got up on the bed and closed her eyes. She was half asleep when she felt a hand touching her arms.

Her eyes squeezed shut tightly. She knew this touch, she knew this person.

This person violated her countless nights, beat her violently, broke her to the point she lost herself. She couldn't recognize herself anymore.

He marked her as a whore.

She wanted to stay quiet so that he couldn't get aware that she was awake.

"I know you are awake," She heard him. Her heart was thumping loudly. Her body froze.

................................................................................................................................................................

"Okay, but please calm down. You are also a patient of hbp, heart disease. I am telling you." Doctor agreed at last. Brian heard everything and couldn't believe his own ears. He body got goosebumps hearing about the horrific tortures.

Adam captured Brian and his son. Kept them hostage, starved them occasionally and even sometimes, his people beat him.

Adam still kidnapped Fiona, beat her, raped her, tortured her, curved her skin, starved her, lastly let her get sold away in the brothel.

Most painful thing is her daughter experienced a forced abortion, which affected her uterus permanently. It's possible that she won't be able to be a mother in future.

Even after knowing every truth that Fiona Isn't his daughter, Adam wasn't letting her go. He was forcefully keeping her.

No wonder she has become mentally unstable. He couldn't help feeling proud of his daughter's strength. Anyone in her shoes, will commit suicide.

"I wont spare Adam. He will pay for every sin he has done, for each pain caused my daughter." Brian clenched his teeth.

"Don't lose your cool, mister. Adam Knight is a powerful billionaire businessman, moreover he is a mafia. What can you do?" Dr. O'Neill tried to reason him out.

"Doctor, you will see. I will make sure he suffers in the worst way possible."

........................................................................

"You are no one to that bastard. You know from the very first day, I felt a strong attraction towards you. I wanted to make you mine. But my revenge came in my way. Now that I know you are not his daughter, we can be together." Adam said, lying beside Fiona's sleeping figure.

He gently stroked her hairs.

"Still you are so beautiful. I never knew you were pregnant with my child. Alas! I lost it. tsk tsk tsk."

"No worries, I am never letting you go. We can stay together. You will be mother of my children. No one can take you away from me." A psychotic smile formed in his face.

"Your fingers are so soft, so delicate and fragile. I want them run over my back when I make love to you." He touched her fingers.

Brian who was about to enter Fiona's room, halted his steps. His palm covered his mouth in surprise when he listened what vicious things Adam planned to do with his daughter.

He'd rather kill her himself than let her go through the same torture again.

................................................................................................................................................................

"We should make her feel at home. We should act normal with her. Even though she is sick, keeping her in a room will do no good. Walking in the garden, occasionally visit parks will cheer her up." Dr. O'Neil spoke.

Brian nodded. Adam wasn't sure if he was the culprit. But wasn't sure yet. He let Brian stay for the sake of Fiona's well being. She started responding to treatment after her father and brother had come. They were important for her recovery.

"Why not we cook her favorite foods and call her in the dining space? She can eat with everyone. It can be a good start. We have to make her realize that she is not alone." Dr. O'Neil spoke.

"What does she like to eat?" Adam questioned looking at Brian. Brian clenched his teeth, trying to control his anger.

"She isn't a picky eater. She happily eats anything I cook. Her favourite is spaghetti, lamb curry rice." Brian answered.

"I am telling my cook to prepare them for lunch." Adam spoke.

"No. Let me cook these two items for her. I will cook." Brian enthusiastically offered.

Adam glared at him.

"I won't let her eat anything made by a bastard like you!" Adam seethed, gnashing his teeth.

Brian countered, "You know that I haven't done anything to your family. Yet you are holding grudge over the crimes which I never committed. You are keeping me away from my daughter. But keep it mind that I wouldn't let you harm her anymore."

Adam's hand went to his neck but Brain started again, "If you got balls, find out who is the real culprit and where he is. The person who tortured your family is inhumane without any doubt but you are no better. Otherwise you wouldn't hurt my daughter to the point that she is mentally unstable today, she is bed ridden. Because of You! You knew she was innocent!" Brian rebuked with venom.

Adam's hand clamped around his neck.

"Y-your m-mother m-must be h-happy that her s-son g-grew up t-t-to be a k-killer-r-r, r-r-rapist-t-t. W-what is the difference between you and the torturer?" Brian uttered somehow.

Adam's grip on his neck automatically loosened. He landed a punch on his jaw.

Brian stumbled backward, touching his busted lips.

"Truth hurts. Isn't it? But misery is that you feel the feeling of hurt only when it's to your mother or you. You don't value others life." Brian exclaimed.

Adam stood there, clenching his teeth as daggers were threw at him in the form of truth.

"Whatever happened to you is really horrible. But I have nothing to do with this, no involvement, no responsibly. So, let me take my daughter and leave from here." Brian proposed.

"She will not leave me. I won't let her leave. She is staying here." Adam asserted, and left.
