Chapter Seven

Ryder POV:

I walked back into Samuel's office and sat heavily in the seat across from his desk.

"That bad, huh?" He asked. "Oh, yeah. Fuck, man. She's kinda right, though. She literally has no social life and she needs to get out more often, but what if those mother fuckers jump her again?" I asked.

Samuel sighed and shook his head. "I had no idea she felt the way she did about me." He told me.

I didn't have the heart to tell him I agreed with his daughters. He felt guilty enough.

"Let her cool off. She can't stay mad forever, right?" I asked.

Samuel looked at me. "She just might." He said.

I just fixed my friendship with Lana and destroyed it already.

It didn't help that Sarah was giving us so much shit about it.

"Dinner's ready." Sarah said poking her head into the room.

Lana was already at the kitchen table when we walked in. "Hey." I said softly, but she only ignored me.

"Lana, I'm sorry, okay? You're right. You should go out more often, but we just don't want you to get hurt." I tried reasoning with her.

"Don't worry about it, Ryder." She muttered. "Lana, please.." I begged. "Please, just drop it." She said leaving the table.

"You're not going to eat?" Samuel asked. "I ate enough." She said, walking upstairs.

Great. Now what?

Lana POV:

A few days later, I sat under the same tree, as I talked to Cole.

"Will you go out with me tonight?" He asked.

I smiled at him. "I'd love to." I replied.

"How does dinner sound?" He asked me. "Sounds like a plan." I said and smiled softly at him.

"He's asked you on another date?" Sarah asked happily as we sat on her bed.

"He asked me to dinner." I told her. "That's so awesome! I'm so glad you're getting out more. You needed it." Sarah said. She was right. I was happier.

I got a message from Cole a few hours later, telling me he was here.

"Where are you going?" Dad asked as I passed him.

"Out with Cole." I said before exiting out the front door.

"Hey, can I ask you something?" Cole asked. "Of course." "I was wondering if you would want to make this an official thing." He said, nervously.

My stomach filled with butterflies. "Yeah." I said, smiling.

I huge smile came to his face. "Really?" He asked. I laughed softly. "Yeah."

Cole wrapped his arms around my shoulders as we walked to the car.

Before opening the door he turned to face me.

He got close to me, making my heart rate quicken.

He touched my chin softly so I would look at him.

He smiled softly at me as he leaned in and pressed his lips lightly to mine. I instantly closed my eyes, kissing him back.

When we pulled up to the house, I saw my dad looking out the window.

"Damn." I muttered. "What is it?" Cole asked. "My dad is watching us." I replied.

He looked at the window and laughed lightly. "I guess it isn't exactly safe to kiss you, huh?" He asked, surprising me slightly.

I laughed lightly at the comment. "Not really." I told him. "I'll see you tomorrow." He said. "Yeah." I smiled at him before walking into the house.

When I walked in, dad looked at me.

"What?" I asked. "Nothing." He said before walking away.

Sarah walked through the front door, soon after.

"So, how'd it go?" She asked, smiling at me.

I laughed nervously. "I guess I have a boyfriend." I replied.

Her eyes widened before she shrieked, hugging me.

"You have no idea how happy I am right now!" She yelled excitedly.

I only laughed and shook my head.

Ryder POV:

She went on another fucking date. This is bull shit, and I can't say anything!

This mother fucker swooped in and did what I was too fucking scared to do. Now it's too late.

I walked into a local bar and ordered a glass of whiskey. I needed to get out of my head for a while.

A few glasses in, I was getting a pretty strong buzz.

"Hey, cutie." A tall blonde woman walked up next to me.

I smirked and looked her up and down. "Hey."
