Chapter Fifteen

Lana POV:

A few days later, after Sarah and I went back to the university, we ran into Adam and Cole outside of our first class.

"Oh no." Sarah whispered. "I'm right here." I whispered back.

Lane was in the front office applying for his classes. He wouldn't be able to join us for a few days so I stayed glued to Sarah's hip.

"Lana.." Cole said as we approached them. "What?" I asked. "Lana, I'm so sorry for what I did. Please, forgive me." He begged. "I forgive you Cole, but I can't trust you. Our relationship is over." I replied.

I looked at Sarah and noticed her looking down at her feet.

"Sarah, baby? Can we talk alone?" Adam asked her.

"You can talk here." I told him.

"It's okay." She said softly before walking around the corner with Adam.

I stayed close behind them but out of sight.

"You think you can just leave me like this?" Adam asked her angrily. "I had to Adam. I'm afraid of you and I can't take the abuse anymore." Sarah said, timidly. "If you would just listen then I wouldn't have to punish you."

Punish? This mother fucker.

"Please, just let me go." She begged. "You're mine. I won't let you leave me." He whispered harshly. "No." She whimpered. "You little bitch. You think-"

I walked around the corner before he could finish.

"It's time for class, Sarah." I told her, taking her hand.

"We weren't finished." Adam growled.

I turned to look at him.

"You are now. I have eyes everywhere, Adam. Don't think you're untouchable." I said before pulling Sarah away.

As we sat in class, my phone continuously vibrated in my pocket.

Making sure my professor couldn't see, I pulled in out and saw I had five messages from Cole.

Cole: Please, talk to me.

Cole: Will you at least let me explain?

Cole: I made a mistake, baby.

Cole: She was a mistake.

Cole: I love you.

My eyes widened at the last message.

You don't love me, Cole. You wouldn't have cheated if you did. Please, move on.

I turned my phone off after sending the message and continued my work.

Ryder POV:

I sat in my living room thinking about Lana and Sarah. I knew both of those bastards would try to talk to the girls.

Finally, my curiosity got the better of me so I sent Lana a text.

Hey, just checking in. Call me when you get a chance.

I didn't get a reply which told me she was either in class or her phone was turned off.

I waited anxiously for a while, looking at the clock every few minutes.

She should be heading to lunch soon. Maybe she will call me then.

I was so damn relieved that Lana and I were on good terms again. I still couldn't get my mind off of waking up next to her that morning. I'd been craving it ever since.

Kade was a damn mess. He had been here for hours just talking about the ways he wanted to kill Adam.

"Has Lana said anything about Sarah?" He asked me for at least the fifth time.

"Just like you asked me five minutes ago, no. She's in class, or avoiding Cole one." I replied.

Kade looked at me confused. "Why would she be avoiding Cole?" He asked.

"She caught him cheating on her a few days back." I told him. Just thinking about it made my blood boil.

Kade huffed as he continued to pace.

"Fuckers. Those girls really need better taste in men." He said making me laugh lightly. "No kidding." I replied.

"Man, this fucking sucks. I thought I wanted to get rid of this fuck head before, now I just want to bury him alive." Kade told me.

"Can I ask you something?" I asked. "Yeah." Kade replied. "Why didn't you tell her? I mean that you have feelings for her?" I asked.

Kade smirked at me. "The same reason you haven't told Lana. I'm a pussy." He replied.

I just rolled my eyes at him.

"And you thought my feelings were obvious? Dude, you fell in love with Lan the moment you met her." Kade told me. "Shut up, man." I muttered.

Lana POV:

Luckily, our spot under the tree was vacant so Sarah and I took our places. I noticed she was glancing around the yard, searching.

"What if they come up to us?" She asked. "Adam won't do anything here, okay? I'm right here with you." I replied.

I pulled my phone out and turned the power back on to check in with everyone.

As soon as the power was on, there was a message that popped up from Ryder.

Ryder: Hey, just checking in. Call me when you get a chance.

I dialed Ryder's number and in no time, he answered.

"How goes it?" He asked. "It's good. Started out a little rocky but there hasn't been a sign of Adam since this morning." I said.

"Did he do anything?" Ryder asked. "Nah. I stayed close." I replied. "Good. Kade has been worried sick."

I heard Kade in the background. "Is Sarah with her?" This boy is so head over heels for her I don't think he knows what to do.

"Yeah she's here." I said with a slight laugh.

I heard Kade continue to mumble questions but I could quite hear.

"Mother fuck! Just ask her yourself, dude!" Ryder yelled at him.

I laughed handing Sarah the phone.

"Kade wants to talk."

"Hello? I'm okay... I saw him this morning but that's all... I'm sure... Okay.. Bye."

I smiled softly to myself as I aimlessly played my guitar. I knew Kade would make Sarah happy if she gave him a chance. I sure do love playing match maker.
