Chapter Fourteen

Ryder POV:

I woke up to the feeling of someone laying on my chest. I look down to see Lana fast asleep in my arms.

She had called me, crying the night before. When I showed up she wrapped her arms around me and refused to let go.

I didn't ask her what had happened, only letting her cry. I had never seen her cry before and I hated that I couldn't do anything.

"Morning." She said groggily. "Hey. How do you feel?" I asked her softly. "I'm okay." She mumbled.

"Are you ready to tell me what happened?" I asked.

She sat up and looked at me.

"I was supposed to stay with Cole last night, but when I showed up, he wasn't alone. I caught him kissing a woman when I pulled in." She said, her voice wavering.

I was fucking furious. I knew that mother fucker would hurt her.

"I'm so sorry, Lan. I know you really liked him." I said as calmly as possible.

"I have to pick dad up. Do you want to come with me?" She asked causing me to smile lightly. "Sure." I replied.

Lana POV:

Ryder and I walked into the kitchen for some breakfast when I saw Sarah sitting at the bar. She was crying.

"Hey. Are you okay?" I asked. That's when I noticed the gash on her lip.

"Honey, what happened? Did he hit you again?" I asked her. She only nodded, wiping her tears away.

"I told him I couldn't be with him anymore and he slapped me. He told me that I would regret it if I left." She replied.

"Jesus, Sarah. You have to stay away from him." Ryder told her. "I know, but what if he does something drastic?" She asked him.

"We won't let that happen. Please let us tell Dad." I said. "I don't want to worry him." Sarah replied. "Sarah, please. He can handle this." Ryder begged.

"Fine, but I want to tell him myself." She told him. "Fair enough." I said.

"Hey Dad, ready to go?" I asked, smiling at him as he packed his bag. "Been ready, sweetheart. I need some real food." He laughed.

Sarah had agreed to tell Dad about Adam that night. She asked me to be there when she told him because we both know how he would react.

A while later, the club members came to the club house to welcome my dad home. I had never seen my old man so happy.

Everyone had been there to surprise him when he got home. The members cheered and hugged him as they told him how glad they were to have him home. My father took pride in his members. Not one had ever let him down.

Sarah had applied makeup to hide the bruises but the gash on her lip was still noticable.

After dinner while everyone sat, telling dad what had been going on while he was in the hospital, Sarah joined.

"You ready?" I whispered. Sarah hesitantly nodded.

"Dad.. There's something I need to tell you." She said. "Sure, honey. What is it?" He asked happily. I mentally braced my self for his explosion and honestly Kade's as well.

"Please don't freak out.." Sarah said, causing my dad to turn serious. "What's going on?" He asked.

"Adam.." She stopped as tears filled her eyes.

"Sarah?" Kade asked, his voice laced with concern.

"Adam has been beating me." She said and finally allowed herself to cry.

She turned to me burying her face in my neck as she held tight onto me.

"What?" Dad yelled and stood.

"How long, Sarah?" Kade asked angrily.

"Kade, please. Don't upset her." I said as I rubbed my sister's back.

He sighed and walked over to her. Sarah looked at him, letting him hug her.

"How long has he been hitting you?" He asked her softly. Better.

"A year." She whimpered.

Kade's face was still full of rage but he didn't let Sarah see it.

"Why didn't you say anything?" My dad asked, trying to stay calm. "I was embarrassed." She cried into Kade's chest.

He quietly shushed her as he hugged her closer to him.

"Sweetheart, you have nothing to be embarrassed about, okay? You could have come to me sooner." Dad told her.

"Why are you just now telling us?" Kade asked. "Lana caught me trying to cover the bruises."

I looked away from everyone, trying to hold my tears at bay. I wanted to kill this bastard for doing this to Sarah.

"Lana, will you get your sister cleaned up?" Dad asked. "Yes, sir." I said, wrapping an arm around Sarah.

"Come on." I whispered to her.

Ryder POV:

The guys and I followed Samuel into his office.

"I'm gonna kill that mother fucker." Kade said, knocking a vase off Sam's desk.

"Hey! Don't go destroying my office Kade." Samuel said, harshly.

"Sorry, boss." He muttered.

"Don't let your feelings for Sarah cloud your judgment." Samuel said causing Kade's head to snap to him.

"Please, man. Don't look so surprised. The only person that doesn't know is Sarah." I told him and smirked.

"What do we do?" Kade asked. "Well, he goes to the same university that Sarah and Lana do. I say we send in someone to keep an eye on him. Also to protect Sarah." Sam told us.

"That might work." I told him.

"I can do it. I'm around the same age and no one will suspect me. Adam has never met me before." One of the members, Lane said. "We have a plan then." Samuel told us.
