Rivals Love

Prologue

"Diana!" Mom pushed me out of the way when a big black wolf pounced on her.

"Mom!" I turned to see her pinned to the ground. Her arms bleeding from the deep wounds on the wolf's claws.

She looks up at me. "I'll be fine go! Go now! Before they get you too!" I had no choice but to listen to her orders. I turned around and sprinted as fast as I can, I ran a good distance until I decided it was clear to shift. Thick smoke surrounded me growing fur from my body, I could feel my bones popping and cracking, my teeth growing sharper and I grew larger. I jumped out of the thick smoke transformed into my wolf form and ran with great speed.

In the distance, I could hear the growling of two wolves. I listened closely as the sound started to become louder and closer. Then I heard a howl, Dad's howl. I sprinted to the direction of his howl whilst listening carefully to the two wolves I heard behind me. As I cleared the forest I could see him looking for me with his beta and the other wolves.

"Diana!" He hugs me once I reach him. "I'm so glad you're alright, where is your mother?" he sniffs the air for her scent but the only thing we could smell was more rouges. I heard him growl and he looked at his beta. "Track that sent! Make sure they never come back here!" He ordered him.

"yes alpha, Wolves to me!" His beta ran in the woods, followed by the rest of the pack.

"M-Mom…" I looked at my father scared. "She was attacked by one of them… I-I tried to help but she told me to run so I did…" He patted my head and crouched down to my level.

"Do you remember where you left her?" I nodded and looked back to where I ran. "That way, but she said she'll be fine but I don't think she–" Then we heard a faint howl from a female wolf in the direction I ran. It's her!

"That was Mom!" I exclaimed. I looked around and saw Dad in his wolf form. "Let's check on your mother, quick before something happens to her!" He ran ahead and I followed behind. I kept thinking of the worst that might happen to her… no I shouldn't think of such things, she'll be alright I'm sure of it. We ran farther and deeper into the woods and all of a sudden I could smell it, the smell of blood!

"Dad!" I called behind him. "I know… it's strong and belongs to your mother…. Dear God, please don't let anything happen to her." He whispered to himself but I could hear him clearly. Farther we ran, we saw trails of blood that belonged to mother and followed it. Her scent was strong but so was her blood, and above all that, we could smell another rouge just close by… And I remember that scent... It was the one who harmed her

Once we reached her my heart stopped at the sight. She was there… but she wasn't moving, blood covered her body and there were claw marks on her arms. I slowly walked closer praying she wasn't dead. But as I reached her body, she wasn't breathing and a chunk of her neck was a bit off letting blood stream down her neck. Her eyes were wide open but only emptiness remains. "M-mom…" tears started streaming down my face. Smoke covered me again as I shifted back. Once the smoke cleared I grabbed her hand, it was cold and limp. I squeezed it as I cried out feeling the coldness from her hand, no more sign of life at all.

"Diana…"

I cried loudly and didn't hear the voice calling me.

"Diana!" the voice then echoed in my head, it wasn't Dad's voice but it was calling me. I didn't pay attention and cried, slowly starting to scream than cry.

"DIANA WINTERS! WAKE UP!"

I gasped and shot up from my bed, breathing heavily and sweating. I looked to my right and saw the person who woke me up.

"Finally! You're awake!" Sirean looked at me with worry. "You alright? I came to check on you and you were sweating what happened?"

"It was just a dream…" I said to myself, I calmed down and got out of bed. "It was just a bad dream that's all, wait... what time is it?!" I checked the clock. 7:30

"It's almost time?! I gotta get ready! Uhh, Sirean could you get out, please? I need to get ready!" I started shoving her to the door. "Wait! Bu-"

"No time! We're gonna be late! I'll be quick don't worry!" I closed the door shut once she was outside. I quickly grabbed my clothes threw them on the bed, grabbed a towel and went to the bathroom.

I walked out of the bathroom drying my hair with a towel and changed into some new clothes. I checked the clock 7:50 still got time!

I grabbed my bag and opened the door, Sirean was still there waiting while playing on her phone.

"Uhh, Sirean?" She looked up and smiled once saw me. "Finally! Let's go already oh and uh…" She paused.

"What?" I have a feeling I already know what she's gonna say since she looks nervous. "Wait…. Let me guess… my father is sending his beta to look after us isn't he?" She shook her head. "no… but actually yes." I tilted my head in confusion.

"I mean yeah he's sending him to watch us, but only to take us to the high school and then he'll leave us along afterward." She explained. "Oh cool."

We walked downstairs and was greeted by my father and his beta Edward. "Good morning girls." He greeted us. "I believe you know the drill already Diana." I nodded and sighed. "Only to take us there right? Not actually babysit us?" I raised my eyebrow at him.

He chuckled and nodded. "So you girls ready to go? You can eat these on the way I'm afraid Diana sleeping late will have to stop you girls from eating breakfast." He chuckled. I rolled my eyes and took my lunch. "Well, we'll be going now, bye Dad." I kissed his cheek and we followed Edward outside.

"Let's go, I know a safe way to the high school," Edward said shifting to his wolf followed by me and Siren. We both sprinted away to our new high school… a high school where Humans and Werewolves aren't separated in different sections like elementary… in this world, werewolves aren't usually accepted in society even if we've done no harm, but for once maybe we can get along with this new idea of the schools principal, a so-called change in how the humans look at werewolves... hmph I doubt they'll change, I can already see what's gonna happen when they see werewolves in a supposedly built for humans only.

"So Diana." Sirean started. "You think we're gonna see any cute werewolves? Hmm?" She smiled and winked at me.

"Oh my God, I doubt you get a chance to date on if you see him." I rolled my eyes. She scoffs and hits me in the face with her tail. "You're such a killjoy, just you wait once you see your mate." I shook my head. "I just can't wait for you to crawl at my knees and say Oh! Sirean! You were right he's so handsome I just want to have him!" She mocked my voice in such a terrible way I scoffed.

"In. Your. dreams… How 'bout this 100 for who gets a crush first?" I smirked. "Oh you're on! I hope it's you."
