CHAPTER 6

GIANA'S POV

"No Tanya, I'm not sending you any money and that's final. I gave you your allowance last week and you're already asking for more? Where do you think i get the money from?" I asked my younger sister who had been getting on my nerves lately. I really wonder where she thinks i get money from.

"But sis..."

I rolled my eyes as i tried talking to her and wearing my heels at the same time. Theo and I are going on a date and Tanya picked out the wrong time to call me. "Don't sis me. I'm hanging up now and don't try calling me again cause I won't pick up." I said and hung up before slipping my phone into my clutch. I looked up at Theo who was wearing a well tailored suit. He looked so handsome in it. "Damn babe, you're so hot. I wanna eat you so bad"

He pecked my lip. "And you're hotter, babe. I'll have told you to just stay at home cause everyone will be looking at you and i don't like that. But if you stay at home, there can't be a date. There can't be a date without you, Gi. You drive me crazy."

I smiled at him. "I love you, Theo."

"And i love you too, baby."

I turned so that he would help me with my necklace. He always loved putting it on for me and I found the action so cute. As he wore my necklace, i admired the gold coloured short jumpsuit i was wearing. Gotta look sexy for my man. Theo started humping on my bum and I moaned sensually. "You better stop or we might end up not going out. And i really need to eat."

Theo kissed my neck. "Yeah, you need to eat cause I need you so bad tonight. And you need energy for that."

I chuckled. "You naughty boy."

"Naughty for you." He said and winked.

"Mhmm... this taste so good. But not as good as the food you usually cook." Theo complimented. We were seated at a good family restaurant, feasting on grilled steak with roasted asparagus and brown rice for him, and pesto pasta with chicken, tomatoes and pine nuts for me. With good wine, obviously.

I smiled at him. "The food is actually good and this place is so lovely."

"Of course baby, I can't take you to some boring place. You deserve the best." He said with a smile.

I smiled back, but suddenly felt sad inside. Why was Theo not proposing? Why hadn't he asked me the question yet. We've been dating for five years, three months already. Isn't it not enough? Am i not good enough? And here we are, in a family restaurant. We should be a family. We both love each other and we're good together, right?

"What's wrong, babe?" I was pulled out of my thoughts by Theo's voice.

I can't tell him what's going through my mind. I just shook my head and plastered a fake smile on my face. "Its nothing."

"You sure?"

I nodded and continued with my dinner. We enjoyed the rest of our meal in silence, only exchanging soft looks. I really love Theo and i know he loves me too. So what's stopping him? We left the restaurant and sat on the bench outside with my head on his shoulder, and we both staring at the stars. He covered me with his jacket and i felt so comfortable. "Make a wish, babe." I told him, breaking the silence.

He seemed to think for a while. "I wish to get better business proposals this month."

My heart broke. He was making a wish for just himself. I thought he would wish for us to be together forever, just like what was going through my mind.

"Make a wish too." He said, looking down at me.

I was going to tell him what was going through my mind. "I wish..." But i couldn't finish because my phone started ringing. It was Alvin. Why is he calling me at this time. It's past 10 PM. Apparently, Theo saw it was Alvin and he raised his brows questioningly. "I'll just answer this. He usually doesn't call this late so it must be important." I said then answered the call under his watchful eyes. "Hey Alvin."

"I'm so sorry for calling you this late, Gigi. But i really need your help." Alvin said frantically.

I narrowed my eyebrows. "What's wrong?" I heard the unmistakable voice of Riley saying she wants her daddy. "Alvin is everything alright? Is that Riley?"

"Yes Gi. Ellen is not a live-in nanny and Armani had an important meeting so he asked me to look after Riley. Unfortunately, I got called into work for an emergency. I would have called my mom but she's in France at the moment and I can't call Trisha cause Riley doesn't know..."

I cut him off before he could continue ranting. "And why are you calling me?"

I heard him take in a deep breath. "To come and watch over Riley. I can trust you with her and Armani doesn't have a problem with you."

I shook my head even though he couldn't see me. "Not a fat chance, Al. You and i know Riley can't stand me and the feeling is mutual. Plus I'm with Theo at the moment."

"But Gi, I can't take Riley with me to the hospital and I can't leave her alone. She's just seven. Please help me out. I'll make it up to you, Gi. Don't say no. Please." He said in a sad tone and i could picture him pouting.

How can i say no to someone as sweet as Alvin. "Fine. I'll be there in forty." I said and ended the call before turning to look at Theo who was already frowning. I gulped. He heard everything. "Babe..."

"Don't babe me, Gi. Did you just accept to leave me and go to another man's house at this time of the night?" He asked angrily.

I scratched my forehead. "I'm going there for his daughter, not for him, babe."

"That racist brat." He commented spitefully.

"Yes, she's racist but she's still a kid and she can't stay alone." I reasoned out with him.

He sighed and looked away. "Its not our business, Gi. And its not part of your work description with them." He also reasoned out with me. "Plus we already have plans for tonight." He said with a cute pout.

I chuckled and kissed his lips. "If that's your problem, i'll make it up to you tomorrow morning. Let me just help them. There's nothing wrong with helping, right?"

He grumbled but accepted in the end. He even offered to drive me to Brentwood. Theo is so sweet and understanding. I'm beginning to regret why I accepted to watch over Riley. I'll have been spending quality time with my Theo. I told him there was no time to go home and get sleepover clothes. That was another issue cause he said my dress was way to sexy and revealing to go to a man's house at night but i convinced him that Armani was not at home. When we reached, we had a full blown make out session before he let me go in under his watchful eyes. I rang the bell and the Alvin opened the door almost immediately. From the corner of my eye, i saw that Theo was still there. Alvin and I waved at him before he sped off.

"Thank goodness you're here, Gigi. I'm so sorry for disturbing you. I really have to go now. Riley is in her room. She knows you'll be watching over her. You can just sleep in one of the guest rooms. Actually, the closest one to her room. I already put fresh sheets on the bed. Good night Gi." He said and kissed my forehead. "And thank you for agreeing to this."

I smiled. "I'm actually missing out on great sex because of you. You owe me big time." I told him and hugged him. "Go now. I'm very tired anyways. I'll just check up on Riley." I told him then locked the door once he was gone. I took in a deep breath before walking up to Riley's room. I knocked and entered. She was in bed already, reading a story book but i could tell she was very tired. That's strange cause i know someone else usually reads the book and then the kid will fall asleep. "Hey Riley."

"Giana Williams again." She said as she looked up at me.

"Yup, Giana Williams again. You already know why I'm here. Its so late, why are you still awake?" I asked her as i made my way to her bed and sat on it.

She scrunched her nose in disgust. "You know how i feel about you. Don't sit on my bed. I don't like your skin colour and being so close to me irritates me."

Since i was already versed with her racist ass, i just roll my eyes. "You better behave tonight. I'm so tired and i left my boyfriend because of you. The least i can get from you is a 'thank you'." I told her.

"Is he black like you?" She asked and i nodded. No sign of appreciation. Riley needs help.

"What are you reading?" I asked her in order to change the topic.

She raised the book. "A book, duh." I raised my eyebrows and tilted my head. "Fine, its a bed time story. Daddy isn't around to read it for me."

"Should i read it for you?" I proposed and she nodded sleepily. I slowly took the book and she adjusted to a more comfortable position. I started reading the book slowly and even stifled a yawn. Man was i tired. By the time i was about to turn to the next page, I realized Riley was already dozing off. Looks like she's just as tired as i am. Looking at her sleeping form, I saw the real Riley. I ran my fingers through her hair and rubbed my eyes sleepily. She was so cute and her baby hair was all over her face. For once, she looked like the baby she actually was, and not the big girl she pretended to be. Her long lashes were covering her cheeks and i really saw the resemblance between her and her father. The two have perfect genes. I wonder if she even looks like her mother. It must be so hard for her to be without a mother. Poor Riley.

And those were the last thoughts in my mind before i drifted off to sleep on Riley's bed and in my short jumpsuit.
