CHAPTER 3

GIANA'S POV

"Wait, I don't get you. A seven year old girl spoke to you like that and you left it? Pour me some holy water, water girl." Trisha said as she paced up and down in her room. I had stopped by to see her after work and filled her in with what happened. I nodded at her. "And Alvin did nothing. Her dad did nothing. What kind of father is that?"

I hissed. "Trust me girl, I became immobile. Her 'father' said I have to do it again and i can't refuse cause you know the job, my clients have to be satisfied. I can't believe I have to go back there tomorrow. I can't stand that kid at all."

"But you need the money so you got no choice. But you know me, if a kid spoke to me like that, I'm whooping her ass hands down." Trisha said and i laughed.

"Girl, if you see this kid father, you won't even try it. The guy's insanely tall and muscular. He got some cold piercing eyes that seem to see through your soul. Then look at me, skinny black girl with a fat ass and no muscles. I can't take chances. The guy would kill me."

We both laughed at what I said. Trisha walked to her mirror stand and took the glass of orange juice she had kept there. The girl loves orange juice a lot. She took a sip and then sat on the bed with me. "So tell me, what's her father like? Is he actually forty? Is he ugly? I don't care about that part though, cause from what I know, he got the cash I need and I'm already interested in him."

I laughed at her. "Don't even think about it. First, his daughter is racist so he most probably is too. Secondly, the guy seems super cold. We didn't talk much but from the way he spoke, I don't think you have a chance. He's so different from Al, trust me. Also, I don't think he's forty anymore. "Like hell, I don't know why Alvin said his brother is old. Trust me Trish, if you this Armani guy...hell, he's fine as fuck. True, he's a cold but man is he hawtttt."

Trisha was looking at me dreamily.

I laughed at her facial expression. "Honestly girl... he looks like he's in his early thirties. He's tall, has brown hair and his eyes. Gosh he has fine eyes. And wait until he talks. Man his British accent got me all hot and bothered. Plus he smells really good. Definitely my type of guy...but I got my Theo already."

"Introduce me already." Trisha said and i burst out laughing.

"How about i introduce you to his bratty daughter?"

I laughed as she twisted her face in disgust. "Hell no. Don't want no white kid telling me about my melanin or I'm gonna loose my shit. And I don't want that cause i got to make a good impression for her fine ass dad."

I chuckled. "Really now? The guy doesn't even know you exist."

She rolled her eyes. "Who cares? You'll be introducing me to him."

I scoffed. "As if. Go get me some food, girl, I'm starving."

*****

I was standing before Riley and we were in a staring competition. When i came this morning, she was the one who answered the door and when i got in and greeted her, she just stood with her hands on her hips and stared me up and down. Well i also put my hands on my hips and looked at her the same way. Call me childish, I don't care.

"Riley honey, who's at the door?" I heard the unmistakable voice of Mr. Vanderbilt.

The little girl did not break eye contact with me but still answered her father. "Its the 'black' lady from yesterday."

I blinked in disbelief. "Excuse me? My name is Giana Williams, not 'black' lady. "

"Ohh. Good morning Miss Williams. I'm glad you came early. Sorry to bother you, I just got an impromptu call from the office and the new nanny Alvin hired will be coming in only tomorrow. I know its not your job but please help me watch over Riley for a couple of hours while you work. I promise to raise your pay."

I looked at him and noticed he was dressed in a well ironed suit that fit him so well, then i looked back at Riley who was also looking at me and we both turned back to her father. "What? Stay with her?" We asked in unison, pointing at each other.

"Look Miss Williams, I usually don't ask for favors from people or entrust my daughter with just anyone. So if I'm asking you, its because Alvin said you're trust worthy and because I can't take Riley with me. So please, watch over Riley. Like I said earlier, I'll raise your pay when I'm back." He then turned to Riley. "Behave while I'm gone. Call me if you need anything, okay?" He kissed her forehead and hurried off.

I couldn't believe him. Did he just leave me alone with his monstrous daughter? I turned to look at her to find her glaring at me. I glared back at her. "Guess I'm stuck with you for some hours. Sad, right?" I told her in a fake sad voice.

She just rolled her eyes and walked to her room. I followed her because that was what brought me back here. Before she could lock her door, i outsmarted her and stuck a feet in. I saw about six boxes in her closet since the door was ajar. Looks like she hasn't unpacked her things. I let myself in and sat on the pink couch while she stood watching me. "Don't sit on my couch."

I rolled my eyes. "You know, for a girl that acts so mature, that was a lame statement. Anyways, you said you hate pink, so what's your favorite colour, or better still, colours?"

She ignored my question and just kept looking at me in disgust.

"Look here, you don't want me here and i don't want to be here either. So if you do well and cooperate with me, I'll be finished in no time and leave. Sounds like a plan?" I asked and she scoffed.

She walked over to her bed. "I like purple, red, and white"

I nodded and took out my iPad. "Come see this other design." I called out to her so she could see my other designs.

She facepalmed. "Do i really have to see it? Just do your job."

I shook my head and rolled my eyes. "You better come see it, young lady. Cause i don't want to waste my time doing something and you tell me to redo it. Cause I won't."

"Giana Williams, I said, do your damn job. I'm too tired to walk over to you." She said and diverted her attention to her ridiculously expensive phone. Spoiled brat.

"First, call me Giana, not Giana Williams. And watch your language, you're only seven." I told her as i walked over to her bed to show her the design. I'm the bigger one here so I just have to do it.

She looked at me and smirked. "You told me your name is Giana Williams right? And that I should call you like that, not 'black lady'. Or have you forgotten already?"

I ignored her and showed her the different designs. She stopped at one with a red and white theme. "I like this one."

I just nodded. "Stay right here while I call my team and let them know about the new set up." I told her and walked to the balcony, making a call to my workers. When i got back to the room, the little brat looked up at me.

"I'm hungry."

I raised my brows. "And why are you telling me? I'm not your cook."

"Well my dad said you'll be watching over me and so I'm hungry. Give me food."

I groaned. What the hell did i just get myself into? "Fine, but you're coming with me."

"Why?" She asked with wide eyes. "Just make me breakfast and set it at the dining table, I'll come eat."

It was my time to smirk. "Choose, either you come with me, or we both stay here and you have no breakfast."

She huffed. "Fine, lets go. You're so hard to deal with." I rolled my eyes.

"And you're not." I replied sarcastically.

******

I made breakfast under her watchful eyes, with her ordering me around and when my team arrived, they went straight to work. I left Riley to her meal while I went upstairs to work with the others. Riley finished her meal and i told her to sit and watch a movie in the living room, but she insisted on going to the home theater. I let her have her way. Good thing she complied because to her, she couldn't stand me. As if I can stand her too.

About three hours later, everything was set and I walked my teammates out with all the pink things from Riley's room. That alone took an hour. When they were all gone, I called Riley up to show her. When she got in, I was shocked by her facial reaction. For the first time since we met, she smiled. So she can smile? People, Riley can smile!

"Wow Giana Williams, my room looks nice. This suits my style, I love it."

And we're back to Giana Williams. Great. "Can I at least get a thank you?"

She raised her eyebrows. "Why?"

God help me with this kid. Just then, the doorbell rang. That must be Mr. Vanderbilt. I went to get the door with Riley following behind me. Indeed, it was her father.

He stepped in and kissed Riley's head.

"Daddy, I like my room now." She told him proudly. "Its much better."

He looked up and me and smiled at me. My goodness, can this guy get any more handsome? Look at that smile. "I see my daughter is impressed with your work, Miss Williams. Good job. Let's go to my office so we discuss your pay. And before i forget, thank you for watching over her while i was gone."

I was mesmerized by his accent. Oh, the guy is heavenly. We walked to his office and sat down, with Riley on the couch in the office, again, looking at her phone. What the hell is she doing with a phone?

"So, how much did you agree on with Alvin?" He asked, pulling me out of my thoughts.

I cleared my throat. "We really didn't agree on a price, sir. Alvin made me charge all the bills to his credit card and that amounted to $385,000 for everything i purchased. As for my payment, I usually charge $7000 for my team and I's hard work." I explained to him.

He nodded and took out his check book. He scribbled something to it and handed it to me. My eyes widened as I saw the amount on it. "$25,000? Sir, i said $7000."

He nodded again. "I heard you correctly Miss. I'm just impressed with your work and Riley is happy with her room, plus you watched over her while i was gone. You even made breakfast."

"Wait, how do you know i made breakfast?" I asked. Was he watching me?

He smiled. "I can't own a megatech company without installing cameras round my house, can i?"

My mouth formed an 'O'. Explains why he left me with his child. But when did he install cameras? I left yesterday evening, so when did he do it? I kept my question to myself. Its not my business though.

"It was nice doing business with you Miss Williams." He stood up and shook my hand. Goodness, his hands are so soft, i bet its going to feel so good rubbing my bare back. I shook my head to take off the dirty thought and smiled at him. The guy just gave me my monthly salary. Of course it was nice doing business with him. Now i'm free to get my ass out of their house for good. I turned to leave but Riley spoke up, stopping me.

"Daddy, Giana Williams can't just go. I want my room redesigned every weekend." She said, looking at her father with a sly smile.
