Chapter Twenty-one

Because we are about to leave the country in three days, Ethan asked me to bond with him for the whole day. And since I am free and loves to grant his wish, we went to Intramuros, one of the famous tourist spots in the country. A lot of people were strolling around with their family and friends which somehow makes me feel sad because Barack wasn't with us. However, Ethan was still having fun especially when he rode on the Kalesa.

Earlier before lunch, we went to the mall where we shop last time and let my son play in the arcade just like he wanted to. A lot of people were around because it's Christmas season and people were preparing for the special event. Honestly, I want to spend my Christmas here if only I haven't met Blake. He was the one who ruined all my plans for the rest of the year.

"Son, your shirt is so wet now, go change your clothes first." I said, holding his wet polo shirt then shifted my look to Elaine. "Accompany him first, I will just answer the call and I will follow you afterwards," I continued which she nodded in agreement.

My forehead creased when I saw Celestine's number on my screen. She already knows that we are having a quality time with my son which made me think that she called for important things. Confused, I tapped the answer button.

"Gosh, Amber! I was calling you for the hundredth time! Why aren't you responding on my call?!" I kept my phone away from my ear when I heard Celestine's loud voice. She was in panic and worried that I couldn't clearly understand her words.

"Chill. Why? Is there any problem? I am here in the mall, if you want you can meet me at the entrance," I replied calmly.

"There is!" That was the last words I heard before my phone shut down. I made a facepalm before placing my phone back in my bag and went to the entrance of the mall instead.

I know she was driving or outside the house because there was a honk sound and noise from vehicles on her line. I wasn't feeling at ease while standing outside the entrance of the mall, thinking of what she was saying. I just hope that she would come here or just nearby at least.

After a minute, a woman with a swollen abdomen, wearing a blue simple dress came into view. She was holding her baby bump, briskly walking difficulty so I welcomed her.

"What's wrong?" I immediately asked as soon as I reached her.

Celestine's sweat was streaming on her forehead and still catching her breath. "I kept on calling you earlier! You didn't respond! Goodness gracious! Good thing, I made the right decision of finding you here!" she screeched.

I held her shoulders. "Can you please relax yourself first? You're making me nervous and worry.

"You must be worried!" she exclaimed, which surprised me. "Why?" I stuttered.

She held my hand and looked down. "I'm sorry…" I was taken aback. "Why? What's wrong? Stop making me nervous," I replied, completely puzzled.

Just in time, before she could open her mouth, someone grabbed my arm. I was startled by the sudden swift motion making my heartbeat hitch. But what surprised me more was when I looked up, I saw Blake's blazing eyes.

"Hey, what's wrong with you?!" I huffed. His pair of fascinating blue eyes which I used to love changed into fire. "I really made the right decision of following you, Celestine," he said coldly. Celestine just looked down, holding my hand.

"What's wrong with the both of you?" I still tried my best to act calm and normal.

He met my eyes and tightened his grip to my arm. This is strange. I was clueless of what was happening and he looked so angry with us. As far as I know, he left me in a good mood and he was the one who vanished for days. I groaned a little when I felt a bit of pain in his tight grip.

"Where's. My. Son." My world literally stopped. My eyes widened and my jaw dropped. It was like half of my body died and my soul left my body making me feel so weak. My mind turned blank as I was staring at him, unsure what to do and react.

"Amber, where is my son?! Why did you fvcking keep him to me?! You're too selfish! Are you that mad at me and you fvcking include him with your personal madness?!" he hollered in one breath.

My heart sank while listening to him. I know it was too selfish but he doesn't have any right to my son since he didn't even dared to find us! I groaned once again when he held me so tight.

"Stop it, Blake! You're hurting her!" Celestine interrupted with a yell.

He withdrew his hand to me, made a facepalm and messed up his hair. "Just let me fvcking see my son!

"You don't have any son!" I answered.

His eyes blazed more that scared me. The last time I saw him staring at someone like that was six years ago. There was a man who tried to touch me while I was watching their basketball game. When I told him, it ended up with the man in the hospital. "Stop denying it, Amber. I heard it from Celestine's mouth earlier that you left here pregnant. That you left here with my son inside your womb!" I looked away and excused, "They're lying.

I jolted when he became hysterical. "Stop this fvcking scene, Amber! They confessed and explained it to me earlier! They fvcking confirmed it to me. Fvck! Stop the act!

"It's not yours! It's Barack's!" I insisted with my welling eyes. He smirked and shook his head. "So, I really have a son," he mumbled.

"You don't have any because it was mine and Barack's son," I said with my trembling lips and heavy heart. The time that scares me has come already.

"Fvck that! Your son is MY son. Your son is mine and not from that bastard! It's very fvcking clear, Amber." He heaved a heavy deep breath. "So, let me see my son because I will hunt you forever if you keep on hiding him from me." After he uttered those words, the tears that I was holding back, fell down.

Celestine held my arm and rubbed comforting circles around my back. "I'm sorry," she mumbled.

"Why did you do this to me? We're leaving after three days, you must just have waited for that time, at least," I replied between my sobs. "I hate you for betraying me. I thought you are trusting and supporting my decisions," I continued.

She held my shoulders and wiped my wet face. "I'm sorry. I also didn't see that coming. It was unintentional and unexpected. He just showed up at home and we didn't notice his presence. The same time that we were talking about you and your son," she explained. I shook my head as I still really can't process everything right now.

Our surroundings became silent for a while and Blake was standing across us, unease. I am feeling like I'm losing my sanity any time this minute. I just wished that I was dreaming or the ground would open up and swallow me to escape on this reality.

We brought back to attention when Celestine's phone rang. She fished it on her pouch and pressed the answer button with our presence. "Yes… I'm with her right now…" she looked at me, confused. I was mirroring her actual expression. "Alright, hang on…" she said on the other line before she handed her phone to me. "Elaine," she informed.

"Hello?" I started before I heard a worried tone. "Yzabelle, I was calling you a lot of times but you didn't respond so I called Celestine." My eyebrow scrunched. "Why? You need something?" I inquired, snorting.

She heaved a heavy breath on the next line which built a strange fear inside me.

"Yzabelle… E-Ethan was lost…"
