Reflection

Chapter 1: Be . . . Strong

It was 2015 June 5th, and this day was seen to be an average day filled with freedom, joy, love, no hardships in sight but all that changed due to one mistake, a mistake that had shifted a child's perspective

In a hallway within a modern home suitable to raise a family of 5, an ordinary family or so they thought, as the eldest child, who had ordinary Polynesian features with tawny brown skin, rich black hair, and supposingly chocolate irises

But not this child who was currently rasping with small sobs trying to contain them as she was eavesdropping on her parents, as she had a rare condition that no one, not even her parents or her siblings were aware of

A condition that enabled her emotions to fully show through her eyes, meaning that whatever emotion she held true to her heart or dominant, would shift the colours of her eyes to that emotion, and currently her eyes were a dim navy ocean blue showing that she felt sorrow, pain, and sadness

As she muffled her sobs hearing her parents who were arguing with rash and terrifying tones she had never before experienced or heard before, as she remained silent her parents were the complete opposite as they knew the children were all fast asleep meaning they were in a deep sleep, allowing their true colours to show

"This is your fault!" Her father stated, hearing his voice boom through the door

"My fault!" She started sounding both offended and pissed "I am not the one who gave signs that- THIS -was going absoloutely nowhere, and the plan was crumbling to ashes"

Her mother gestured something that was invisble to Iosefina's sight but she could guess even with her young child mind that it had something to do with her parents relationship, as this was something she's observed for the past years of her childhood

She could see her parents becoming distant with one another, but this had gone entirely another level to what she would come to summarize the present state of her parents, but pushing her thoughts, the parents spoke louder to push them away

"Heh I guess we both did . . . maybe now . . . it's time to make it official, and be done with this arrangement" Her father said in a shallow careless tone

Iosefina eyes widened at the situation being only a bystander she understood as much

"Maybe it is time . . . but I have to wonder Aaron" She paused as her tone from cunning went to vicious as she asked "What are you gonna do, by yourself raising those br-" Before her mother could finish, her father cut her off saying with an accusing tone

"Don't you DARE call them that!" He said with his parental instincts kicking in, but still she drove to drive his patience

"Well they are brats, bastards, despicable things forthey aren't ev-" Before she could finish a harsh brutal slap could be heard from the other side of the door, the aftermath of such an act was her father saying

"Get out of here Jessica" He told with a decent tone and before her mother could protest he shouted "NOW!" And without a second to spare, Jessica had rushed towards the door with rage, which by then Iosefina rush to her bedroom leaving without learning the end of the conversation

And from that day it became the last Iosefina, her younger siblings Jason and Maya, their father would ever hear from Jessica, but even so all that left the eldest child was to know that things would never be the same

And from this day forth . . . she had to be . . . Strong, for the family no matter the cost, taking the position someone dear to her once had but would never return ever

~To the Present 2020 August 12th~

Five years had passed since the disappearance of Jessica, but even so the Parata's strived over the years, but even so at a cost, as Iosefina grew up way too fast, as she saw her father struggle raising them, she did all she could to be strong, to be a pillar for her father, to keep her family strong

And even though she does so hiding her true feelings behind a mask . . . her love that she bore for her father, her brother, her sister, weighed the strongest above anything in the Universe and if facing the harsh world meant in keeping them safe she would do it . . . in a heart beat

But aside from that fact of her motivations there were things in secret that Iosefina kept from her family, beside her unusual ability which she managed to control after nearly getting caught when she was 5, to what she had before then she could not remember, but everytime she tried she always heard a woman's voice

She kept telling her to be calm, that everything would be alright, and for some reason Iosefina couldn't get the thought that she was so familiar to her, but before she pressed on further onto the matter, glancing up into the clear blue sky under her favourite tree at school she had then heard her nickname being called

"Sefina!" Turning her focus from the clear blue sky glanced towards her best friend, as well as her cousin from her dad's side, who had a half sister who inherited more of his step-mother's genes, and her cousin inherited those genes as well

You wouldn't think that the pair of them were cousin until you learnt about it, but her cousin's name was Akane Takahashi, who had a twin brother, his name was Zackry, and it is kinda ironic how twins are often within their family

But aside from that gene fact Iosefina replies to her cousin rushing towards her with haste "Hey cuz . . . why do you look like you stole something?" She questioned with suspicion and to her unshocked belief Akane halted in front of her giving a guilty expression as she tried to lie

But Iosefina could tell if anyone could lie, especially over the past few years, as many did not know, Iosefina Parata . . . had lost her childhood for one so young, and not a single person had come to notice this

Or so she thought, but details on that matter will come another time

On Akane's defence who was lying terribly it was then her other cousin Zackry, Akane's twin brother arrived pushing his glasses up steadily on the bridge of his nose, then explained selling his twin out on her actions

"She pretty much caused mulitple incidents on her way here . . . as well as stealing someone's lunch" He told the last past sternly because it was his lunch, looking away whistling while shuffling closer to her cousin

Akane was then caught by the collar of her school shirt by one of their friends Belladonna Evans, who prefered being called by her last name than her long and common name, in response to this action Akane complained

"Agh! Evans! Let me go!" She demanded as she squirmed under her athletic friends grip, Evans replied "The moment I let you go, the more chaos you cause" She implied which was true in many shapes and forms because this wasn't the first or last time this would be cased as Mischief by Akane

Behind Zackry a group of 6 approached them, and this brought along a strong show of how diverse this group of friends were due to their more prominant or known side of their heritage

From the four they were first by the spot that concluded with Iosefina being a Maori Polynesian, Zackry and Akane Japanese, Evans was European, and with the presence of their other friends

The Young brothers who were a comedic pair were British and Russian and knew some parts of Russian, Lucillia or Lucy was Spanish, James Ross was Filipeno Asian, Jane Smith who was from America, Texas was most certainly a friecracker in the group, and finally Luios Francis who was fluent in French and currently learning English while also teaching his friends French

They were indeed a diverse group but that's what makes their bond strong, their diverse culture's had caused a bond of sibling love between them all, as everyone became present Luios spoke with his alright english asking

"Vat tis the matte'?" He questioned gaining a reply from Iosefina "Akane's getting accused of crimes . . . again" She told jokingly gaining small chuckles, eye rolls, and claps from every member present before taking their spots under on in the tree

The Young twins then spoke with their switch-a-roo technique to both annoy and play with people's minds starting with Nicholas otherwise known as Nicky or Nick for saying "Y'know Akane, it's not good to cause trouble"

He started off and before Akane could reply his twin brother added "Because if you keep this up" Lastly saying the same part in sync with a cheeky grin but lightly serious tone

"You might ruine our reputation" They told gaining a throw of two rice balls at their faces, which they managed to catch responding with a smirk at the pouting Asian twin before both did cheers and took a satisfied bite from the Tereyaki chicken, avacado, mayo, and capsican riceball, while the young Japanses girl was having a fit

While those three were giving an entertaining show Jane the Texas, American asked "Should we y'know . . . help them?" Giving a curious expression to their present state even though this was a normal occurance throughout their years of friendship they all replied with a simple

"No" And like that they watched how the Young twins teased their troublemaker in action while eatting lunch making bets on who was going to fall out of the tree first or who would be the last one standing

As the positioned themselves under the tree, everyone was laughing at the antics but it triggered something in Iosefina, as she saw the memory of her previous dream a few nights ago that had lingered in her mind for a while now

~Dream Flashback~

Glancing her palm their swarming her hands was strange light, light of various colours almost beaming a rainbow from the palm of her hands, as she looked up she was shown the reflection of herself

Or what she thought of herself as the figure shown within the mirror did not entirely have her features, as the main differences was the figure shown in the reflection had Pure moonlight white hair, with eyes that had no pupils but pure white glow to outshine the stars

And under her eyes and on her forehead were markings, ones that were unfamiliar, one's that would seem to be created in films of fantasy, magic, and well things opposite to science and they also shined bright white

When she glanced back at the reflection many elements or natrual elements surrounded as their swirled or formed behind her were Fire, Ice, Water, Air, Lightning, Nature, Earth, Moon, Sun, and a final element that was not quite clear

As it was a warming light that was comforting and warmer than the bursting flame element, as she reached to touch it a hand came from the core of it reaching towards her, and then she heard a voice from the element saying

"Come" It firstly said or rather a woman said shortly saying "Come home"

After speaking those three words another hand came out almost as if the figure within was trying to escape the prison within as they lastly said "H-p me E-ro. . . He- me"

~End of Dream~

After replaying that dream she wondered on why she saw such a thing, but before she questioned Lucilla or rather Lucy tapped her on the shoulder bringing her out of her daze asking "Sefina? You okay?"

Without wanting to reveal or explain her weird dreams she saw had no need to be revealed she replied "I'm fine Lucy, just thinking on whether I should kill or thank Ron if he loses or wins" She told gaining a few laughs out of her friends especially Evans

Who of course wrapped her arm around her by the neck pulling her in saying "I'm with you on that on-" Before she could finished Nick had fallen from the tree on top of Akane who fell on her chest with him on her back

Laughter sprung up along with fake anger to those who lost the bet, now this was certainly a family of diverse, but how long would this peace they held, remain

As happiness can be taken much like objects, and soon someone of darkness would intervene with these diverse siblings but the question was 'Why?'
