Chapter 07

AUTHOR'S POV

Sara sighed for the nth time. She did not want to do this. She did not want to go to that Asshole's room so early in the morning and then ruin her mood.

“ What other option do you have Sara? You need clothes. ” She murmured to herself sarcastically as she sat on the bed and stared at the wall in front of her blankly.

She could not sleep last night. She could not even bring herself to lay down and rest for a while. Her eyes were burning. Her body was aching badly.

But she did not care.

Suddenly, her phone dinged with notification of a message. Her hand went to grab it and she brought it in front of her face to see who it was so early in the morning. It was only seven in the morning for Heaven's sake.

' I fixed the meeting with his PA first thing in the morning. You know he is my friend Ma'am. President Gabriel will meet you at Paradise hotel at 7 in the evening in room number 578. I asked the PA to keep everything confidential as of now that's why they booked a private room. Be careful Ma'am. You know the rest. '

She read the text and exhaled heavily through her nose. That was what she lacked!

Meeting that old geezer in a room where there was going to be no one except for her and him. There would be no one to save her if things go astray.

“ From when do you need someone to save you Sara?! ” She scolded myself in a loud voice and dropped the phone on the bed beside her.

She was the grand-daughter of the great Lexington family. He would think a few times before doing something wrong to her. And what if he already knew about her fallen position? Sara gulped thinking about the possibilty.

If he knew that Grandfather Magnus did not favor her anymore then...

She would take matters in her own hands. She was Sara. She could save herself on her own. She was strong enough to deal with everything. All alone...

Just like she had been doing for her whole life.

But this did not help reduce the fear. Fear of something horrible happening to her. Shaking her head, Sara got up from the bed and started walking to the door of the room.

First thing first, she needed to get her clothes from the room where Silas was definitely sleeping. That good-for-nothing so-called husband did not have anything to do except for lazying around. And now when Grandfather Magnus was going to give him allowance and provide him with all the luxury, he was going to enjoy his life. He would get high on this newly acquired power. He was going to enjoy it so much and then...

Everything was going to come crashing down on his thick head.

Everything came with a prize. He would pay the prize too. Just like her mother did. Just Like she did. Just like her Father did.

Just like them...

Silas will pay a heavy prize too.

And then he will think that it would have been better if he never craved for this life.

Sara could not wait to see that kind of lifeless look in his eyes when he will realize that he ruined his life with his own hands.

Lost in thoughts, Sara did not know when she came out of her room and stopped in front of the white door to his room. It was his room when it was supposed to be their's.

Standing outside the door, Sara wondered what it would have been like if she truly got married. Married to a man who cared about her - about Sara. Only Sara...

Not the money that came with her.

But, fate had something else in store for her. Even if she dreamed sometimes about a life where she was loved by everyone, she knew it was never possible.

Even if she would have gotten married with her own choice, she was going to marry someone who was Powerful so she could use his power to climb the succession ladder.

She had only one goal in life. Just one single goal.

Inherit Lexington Group of Companies.

Nothing else mattered to her for a long time now.

Heaving a heavy breath, Sara shook all thought off her mind. Those thoughts were making her feel sad all over again. She felt hunrgy. The desire to stuff her stomach to the brim was slowly taking over her once more.

She turned the door knob hoping it was open and fortunately it was not locked. Sighing in relief, she pushed the door open making the least sound possible.

She planned on taking some of her clothes and leaving silently. She did not want to see his damned face so early in the morning at all.

She peeked inside, her eyes instantly being drawn to the bed where the duvets covered a huge lump. Rolling her eyes, she stepped inside and glared at the lump.

He was sleeping. Peacefully.

After ruining her peace, he was sleeping. Why wouldn't he sleep like this? His journey from Rags to Riches was really successfully.

Sometimes, she wondered if he deliberately approached her that night in the club. Maybe, everything was planned.

The night.

The Media.

The Scandal.

The Marriage.

Everything seemed like a plan to her rational mind but who cared anymore? He was not her problem for a while. She will deal with him but after some time passed. Right now, she had bigger problems to deal with.

Detaching her eyes from the lump on the bed, she marched to the door that lead to the walk-in-closet and then an attached bath.

The glass wardrobes showcased all of her clothes, so it was easy for her to select which dresses she needed to take now. The rest, she would take them later.

Sliding the door open to one of the wardrobe, she raised herself on her tiptoes to grab a dress when something soft came in contact with her torso making her scream loudly.

Abruptly, she turned around to come face to face with a wall. No. Not a wall.

Her eyes glared at the naked inked chest in front of her face before she shut her mouth close and glanced up.

She was about to shout at him for scaring her like this but seeing him so close made her voice disppear.

Fresh water dripped down from the wet bangs covering his forehead. Slowly, her eyes followed the path of a water drop that fell down his hair and travelled from his nose to his lips, chin, neck, inked chest, waist before it disappeared in the towel that was wrapped around his torso.

Well. Shit. She flinched realising what she was doing. She was ogling at him openly and he was watching her with amused eyes.

“ What-How did you get so fast here? I me-mean you were just - just... ” She started stuttering out but his eyes that were staring at her made her pause. How did she even think that this huge man could adjust in such a small lump. He was awake and he was taking a bath.

That's what she was thinking as she slowly found herself lost in his eyes.

His eyes. The lighest shade of brown. It seemed much darker right now. Almost chocolate brown. An unrecognizable emotion was present in his eyes that she almost mistook as lust.

Her eyes slowly went down to the tattoo on his chest. It covered his upper arms and then disappeared down his back. An intricate design of two flowers on both side of his chest that went behind. If only she could see his back, she could have truly known how beautiful it was. It was too complex to be understood in just one or two glances. She had an urge to touch it so she could trace it all the way.

“ Can't take your eyes off me? Want a taste? ” He husked stepping closer.

Sara's eyes widened as a blush crept up her face and she pressed herself in the wardrobe behind her.

No. No. She should never think about how his lips tasted, how he groaned or how she moaned under him. She should never think about the way his hands felt on her skin or how good he made her feel.

Memories were lethal.

“ Don't come close Silas. ” Sara whispered weakly, her eyes moving to rest on his light brown orbs.

“ Why? ” He asked, his eyes turning even darker if possible.

He knew why. Asking this from her was just a way to provoke her further. Knowing a weakness and then holding it over her head was what he wanted to do. She sneered in her mind and her expressions turned grave.

“ I can't tolerate you. ” Sara hissed out in anger to mask her desire and stepped aside to leave.

She turned her back at him, a sigh of relief finally escaping her lips. She did not know that she was holding her breath back.

“ Or you can't resist me? ” His mocking voice made her halt in her steps.

Sara's hands curled into fists by her side. He was right. He knew and she knew too.

Her heart was drumming in her ears. Any attachment meant a weakness. Any weakness was going to push her one step behind from inheriting the Lexington Group.

And an attachment with a Money Hungry man like him, someone who only cared about money...It would be the end for her.

Turning around on her heels, Sara faced her. Her eyes refused to move anywhere from his light brown orbs now.

Slowly, she marched towards him stopping just inches away. Silas could raise his hand and touch her or he could lean in and kiss her. The thoughts were tempting.

But she beat him to it when she placed her right hand on his chest feeling his fast heartbeat under her palm and raised herself on her tiptoes.

Her lips were just against his. She breathed heavily making her hot breaths fan his lips. His hands twitched on his side to touch her.

Her hand on his chest slid a little higher until it rested on his shoulder all the while her eyes bore into his light brown orbs.

Then she leaned in to leave just a soft - feathery kiss on his lips and leaned away. Before Silas knew, he was reaching out for her to kiss her again with his eyes closed but she had stepped away from him.

“ It's not me who can't resist you. It's you who can't resist me Silas Alexander. ” She smirked, her eyes shining with the evil glint as she observed the desperate look on his face.

Silas's eyes shot open to find her smirking smugly. His lips tingled with her touch making him sigh out. She was playing with him just to prove that she did not want him. This was the stupidiest thing she could do.

His expressions turned hard and he stepped forth grabbing her arms to smash her back against the wardrobe in a blur moment.

The smirk on Sara's lips fell as she gasped softly. Her back came in contact with the wardrobe behind her but it did not hurt. He did not intend to hurt her. She could feel his anger radiating off his eyes along with frustration which made her gulp.

However, Sara refused to back down when Silas leaned in to let his lips hover above hers.

He was now playing the same game of lust and desire.

“ You are right. ” He breathed out heavily against her lips, his nose touching hers.

Slowly, his hands left her arms but Sara did not move. It was so hard to not kiss him in this moment when he was tempting her to do so.

Her eyes traced the outline of his lips before she raised them up to hold contact with his intense stare.

“ I want you. ” He admitted, leaning a little away to let her breath.

Her knees went weak. She was barely standing even when he was not touching her yet. His words were enough to make her gulp down the lump forming in her throat.

“ I will never pretend that I don't want you. ” He husked and leaned in but stopped when Sara shrieked out. “ DON'T. DON'T YOU DARE.

She did not know why she was doing this. Probably because she hated him or perhaps he was becoming a weakness that she hated. The desire for him was stronger than anything.

Her eyes closed on their own as she felt his presence still around her. He was so close. He could do anything. She would never be able to stop him if he decided to lean in and kiss her. She would give in to him instantly. That was what she did not want.

She did not want to give in to someone who was going to hurt her anytime, someone who made her feel so dejected.

“ I will not touch you until you want me to. No matter how bad I want you. ” He whispered in a husky tone and leaned in to kiss the tip of her nose.

Sara's heart leapt out to her throat at the soft gesture and then he leaned away to let her breath in relief.

“ Stop pretending around me Sara. I won't hurt you. ” His next words made Sara's eyes to shot open.

She stared at him. Blankly and confusedly. A lump formed in her throat that was hard to gulp down this time.

He shook his head at her and left the walk-in-closet. He left her caught up in his words.

He was talking as if knew what went through her head. He knew nothing! He knew damn nothing! He was just trying to trick her. Everything that he was doing...he was doing it to make her lower her guard down.

She will never fall for this trap. She hated him. She hated Silas Alexander. And...

She needed to get rid of him before he managed to make her fall for his tricks.
