Chapter 06

AUTHOR'S POV

Sara's breath hitched as she pushed him away from herself harshly.

“ Why are you looking at me like this? ” Silas chuckled out and Sara gulped down her saliva before stumbling back from him.

It would have been better if she never remembered that night.

Because, It might be too hard to stay so close to him without losing her sanity.

“ Stay far away from me. As far as you can. I don't care what you are and who you are at all. ” Sara shook her head, her voice not that harsh anymore.

Silas watched her. Silently. He observed her cheeks that were turning red, her nose that took the same color. He stared in her eyes that were cast down as she slowly licked her lips.

If he did not know better, he would have thought that she wanted him. Or maybe he did not know her at all. A smirk tugged up at the corner of his lips thinking about the possibility.

Sara let out a shaky breath and turned around to leave this suffocating room that was stuffed with sexual tension.

“ Where are you going? ” Silas called out from behind her when she reached the door to the room.

Pulling the door open, Sara paused for a moment and glanced back, her eyes narrowed down to glare at him. “ It's none of your business. You have everything now. Go and find someone else to play with. ” She hissed harshly and stepped outside, closing the door behind her with a loud bang sound that shook the walls of the whole house.

Silas grinned shaking his head to himself. She was so weird. More than just weird. But was he going to stop pestering her? No. It was too fun to get on her nerves and watch her nose turning red in anger.

Dragging his tongue across his lips, he decided to follow her to see if she was still hellbound on going to her Grandfather in the middle of the night.

He walked out of the room hurriedly and glanced around to see where she was. The room was on the first floor and he could see her roaming around on the ground floor through the glass railing.

How did she get down so fast? He pursed his lips and walked towards his right where the round stairs were. Skipping down the stairs, he observed that she was looking for something or rather some place. A frown etched between his forehead in confusion.

But then a smile broke out on his lips when she finally found the place she was looking for.

A kitchen to the far left corner of the living room.

Everything was black and white in this house which made Silas think that Grandfather deliberately did this. To keep reminding them about how empty their relation was. The colors complimented each other well but the house had some sad vibe to it like those black and white movies in which we could not see the colors of life. Everything dull and lonely.

He wondered who was white and black between Sara and him. He was sure that he would find out someday.

He followed her to the kitchen and found her rummaging around. She had alot of ingredients placed in front of her.

“ I thought you were going to starve to death because of grief. ” He joked lightly eyeing her working efficiently.

Such a wife material! He thought and laughed in his mind.

“ Grief? About what? ” Sara made a sandwich and took a bite, her round eyes going to Silas who was standing in the doorway.

He was so right. Too right. But she would never admit this to him. No matter how sad and lonely she felt, no matter how she was internally breaking down...She would never give up and give anyone the satisfaction of seeing her breakdown.

She felt empty. So empty inside that she thought food would be able to fill the void. That's why she ran away from him straight to the kitchen.

And now...

She would eat so much that she was going to feel nauseous for a whole day or she was going to throw up. Either way, this was the best idea for her to torture herself and forget about everything.

“ About marrying me? ” Silas suggested folding his arms on his chest as he considered all options.

Why did she look so detached? His eyes travelled down to her hand where she was holding the sandwich and then her mouth in which she was chewing so fast that he was sure her jaw would hurt later.

A thought appeared in his mind. She was torturing herself. He sighed out and looked down. It might not be the best time to tease her.

“ Why would I grieve over something as petty as this? ” She paused and walked towards him before stopping just a feet away. Her face was emotionless leaving him unable to know what she was thinking about.

“ I am not someone who cries over fate Silas. ” She whispered and leaned closer like she was going to tell him a secret. “ I am going to think of all ways to get rid of you. ” She smirked, her eyes glazing over with an evil glint. This made him grin as excitement coursed through his veins.

“ How? You can't divorce me little Wifey. ” Silas reminded her and leaned even more closer leaving his lips to hover above hers.

“ You are so right. ” She looked down as a frown made its way on her forehead making Silas smirk triumphantly.

“ Then I just have to kill you. ” Looking up, it was her turn to smirk watching his expressions turning blank. “ I think I should wait a few days though. I don't want people to suspect me. I will kill you when you least expect it. ” She murmured and pushed her right hand forward in which the sandwich was held.

“ Wanna eat Silas? It's not poisoned... ” The killer smile on her lips and the evil glint in her eyes as she trailed off sweetly was something amusing to him.

Yet. ” She added and shrugged her shoulders, the fake smile still plastered over her lips.

Suddenly, the phone inside Silas's pocket started to ring and Sara's ears perked up. ” It's my phone isn't it? ”

Her eyes glared at him while he fished out the phone from his pocket. Indeed, it was her cellphone that he took when she fainted.

“ Give it to me. ” Sara pushed her left hand forward, her expressions turning grave.

Silas glanced at the caller Id. It was Liam. A man calling in the middle of the night. Now who was this Liam? Boyfriend? Lover? He pondered over the thought while eyeing the ringing phone.

Rolling her eyes, Sara snatched the phone from his hand and gave the sandwich to him before strolling out of the kitchen. He looked utterly dumfounded and lost.

She glanced around to look at the house and noticed that the first floor had another door. Thankfully, there were two rooms. She would never sleep with him on the same bed again.

Even if she felt undeniably attracted to him, she was never going to give in to him. Maintaining distance was the key here. She would be fine as long as they did not get too close.

She jumped over the stairs and ran straight for the other white door. Opening the door, she glanced inside and sighed out in relief.

There was everything. A bed, sofa set and an attached bathroom.

“ Thank God. ” She murmured to herself and closed the door after stepping inside. As a precautionary measure, she did not forget to lock the door behind her.

Her eyes went down to the phone that ringed for the nth time and she answered the call hastily.

If Secretary Liam was calling her at this time of night then there must be something extremely important right now.

Heaving a heavy breath, Sara placed the phone against her right ear.

“ I am so sorry for calling in the middle of the night Ma'am but I have something important to tell you. ” He started blurting out apologies as soon as she picked up and Sara ended sighing heavily.

“ This better be really important Liam. ” Sara warned, her eyes staring at the tiled black floor.

This house gave off her an eery empty vibe, she could not help but notice. Everything seemed just too gloomy and empty.

“ I know what happened Ma'am so I thought I should find out a way to help. ” He trailed off making Sara feel impatient. She did not like this tone of his. He was talking as if he pitied her. She hated when people showed her pity. It was the worst feeling ever.

“ Just come to the point. ” Groaning, she marched to the bed and slumped down on it.

“ President Gabriel of GS group is going to make new deals. I heard a rumor that he wants to make an alliance for the new upcoming projects of GS group. ” Liam informed and my eyes went wide in surprise.

“ You are suggesting that if I get him to agree on making a deal with Lexington Group, my Grandfather will let me return to the office? ” Sara smiled, her pearl white straight teeth making their appearance.

“ Yes...But Ma'am.. ” Liam was hesitant in saying something but Sara had a hunch about what he was going to say.

“ Set a meeting with him tomorrow at the earliest Liam. Don't let anyone else know. ” Sara ordered and hanged up without listening to him anymore.

This better be done soon or her other cousins would step in. Everyone would try to gain Gabriel's support so they can make their position strong in Lexington Group. This was a never-ending race for the inheritance.

Everyone was doing it for money but Sara...

She had some other purpose for wanting to inherit the Lexington group and she would never let anyone know about it. Until then, she was going to efficiently pretend to be a Power hungry bitch.

She knew what Liam was going to say on the call, that's why she hanged up.

President Gabriel's reputation was not good with women. Even if he was in his 50's, he was still rumoured to be a rapist and a murderer.

But money and Power was blind. It could not see the difference between Right or Wrong.

Sara did not care anymore. She had to secure this alliance if she was going to return to the Lexington group.

She would inherit that corporation even if she had to sell her soul to devil.

Meeting alone with a rumoured Rapist and Murderer was still something small. Too small. Maybe.
