Chapter 4

FIXRA’S POV

I watched her go as she even challenges Tharos to a duel. She’s brave... too brave.

“Are you insane! She will die.” I turned to Victoria, my maid.

“I don’t think so. Look at that. She avoided every fatal blow easily.” Victoria sighed. “It’s only a matter of time before the disciplinary committee come and stop it all. Are you sure she’s the one?” I showed her the mark she gave me after I kissed her. Victoria sighed. “Yea. That’s the bond alright.

I know what she’s thinking, how will my parents react to this. My siblings will never agree to this. But, they should know that the goddess who chooses her for me should know what she’s doing, I mean, she’s my own aunt, my father’s little sister.

“It’s almost the full moon. Usually, Tharos will handle your need, how will you ask her to fulfil your need this time?” My maid asked.

“I don’t know Victoria. Tharos force himself when doing it with me... but, how would she ... you know... even satisfy me. I have never been with a girl before.

Victoria chuckled.

“I heard that the descendent of Zadicus has something special with them. Maybe she’s special as well. Who knows what you might have little vampires inside you after she’s done with you.” Victoria stated, trying to scare me off.

“That will make my parents killing us both.” Before I could register what’s going on, I took a step back when Tharos was thrown near my feet, bleeding profusely.

“Oh! I’m sorry, my love.” I look up to Kairos who’s not even injured or even been scratch! Tharos tried to get up, but he’s badly hurt. I don’t think I ever saw a God hurt this much before. “I did what you asked me to do.” She smiled while standing beside me. She’s more potent that the God of War himself?! I don’t know how to respond to that.

“Fixra?” She called for me. “Yes?” She placed her hand on my shoulder. “Are you okay?” She asked. I can’t help but feel protected in her presence. Yes, she is my soulmate. There’s no doubt about that. “Who is this lovely lady?” She asked when she finally notices Victoria who’s in shock like I am. “Victoria, my maid and also my best friend.” She waved at her.

“My goddess, Emack beat her up, correct? We all saw her being hit before Varel stopped her brother from continuing, right?” I nodded at Victoria’s question. “Even for a vampire, she needs more time to fully heal. Right?” Again I nodded. “But... Tharos... here... he’s.. fainted. Because of her.” We both heard Kairos chuckled.

“He’s weak. So it’s easy for me to defeat him. He’s a God of war but, he’s not strong enough to defeat me. I just simply hit him in the face and there he is.” She simply hit him?! Simply?!

“Call somebody to take him to his room,” I told Victoria before facing Kairos. “We have the same class next right?” She shrugged. “Lets walk together. Okay?” She nodded.

I’m sure everyone’s attention is on us while we walked hand in hand. There it goes again, the sparks. Just like when we kiss. The first time I saw her walking in the banquet hall, I know she’s going to be something else. The aura she gave out made me feel uneasy. The urges to have her skyrocketed when she winked at me. She’s like a walking disaster whenever she goes.

“Fixra? I don’t think your friends like me so much.

She said when we walk in the classroom. I look at my friends. I’m sure they heard about Tharos. “Just ignore them. They will never understand us.” Just when I’m about to lead her to my usual seat, I felt someone yanked my hand away from my soulmate. “What’s the big idea here?! You and Kairos!” Gisela?

“The real question here is why you yanking my hand away from her!” I yelled back. I don’t think I ever lost my composure like this. But this is a matter of life and death. “ENOUGH!” Kairos shouted before facing Gisela. “We can be friends but not more than that. Fixra is different. And for the rest of you, hate me all you want, but that will never change the fact that she’s mine.

She referring to my friends. I’m sure they will tell everyone back home, how their princess’s soulmate is a vampire. “Settle down! Miss Zadicus! I think you’ve done enough for today. Sit down.” The teacher warned us. I lead Kairos to my usual seat, and we sat together. The rest of the class was filled with such intense staring that I have to warn my friends to knock it off using my eyes.

They should be respecting Kairos, not being hateful to her like this.

“Hey... the class is over.” I heard Kairos’s melodious voice. “Oh.. I’m sorry. Where should we go next?” I asked her without thinking. “We could go to my room and get to know each other?” She winked. Oh wow! She’s such a flirt. I chuckled. “Slow down tiger. That’s just you in heat.” She laughed. “I’m not in heat. Don’t worry about that. I’m more worried about you.” She smiled.

About me?

“What do you mean?” I asked. “I can control myself. Can you?” She leaned in while the others just looking at us. “Here.” She gave me her phone. “Why?” I asked when taking her phone. “This phone will tell you everything about me. My family, my friends, everything. And you need to hold it for a minute because that teacher wants to talk to me.” I smiled while watching her go.

Even Tharos didn’t let me hold his phone. “What’s that?” Victoria asked when she sat on my table. “Kairos’s phone.” She immediately sits on Kairos’s seat. “Well, what are you waiting for, open it.” I did, and the first thing that greeted me was Kairos’s picture as the wallpaper. “Holy shit.. is that her? With long hair?! She’s beautiful and her body! God!” I have to cover her mouth with my hand.

I look up to Kairos who’s smiling at me before turning her attention back to the teacher. “Hey press that.” I press the photo app and looking into her photos. There’s a lot of her selfie on her phone. “Now, they’re hot. Wow.” She was talking about the guys who stand on both Kairos’s side. “That’s my brothers, Zaff and Alec.” We were shocked to hear her behind us.

“Don’t worry. Continue.” I swipe left and more picture of two young couple. “That’s my parents.” Victoria and I gasped. “They both look so young!” She chuckled. “What do you expect from a vampire?” One of my friends pushed her away from leaning into me. “HEY! Don’t do that!” I stood up abruptly.

“You’re my goddess, and I will protect you from this bloodsucker!

Before I could stop her from continuing to hit Kairos, the vampire stood up with blood dripping from her head. “I don’t think my body can withstand so much blood loss.” I stood up and stopped her before she hurt my cousin. “Please! Don’t. She’s my cousin.” Kairos sighed and fixed herself before she went to my side. “Don’t disrespect her or me! I will not have mercy even if you’re my cousin.

I warned her. I felt Kairos leaned in. “It’s fine. I healed.” I grabbed her hand and walk out of the class with her, followed by Victoria, who also warned them if they cause more trouble for Kairos and me. “FIXRA! You tainted the holy family name if you continued with this charade. If you want her, strip off your title and go to where that creature lives, in the gutter.” Tharos warned me.

He’s here?!

“You will not be permitted in the holy mountain anymore.” My cousin added. The holy mountain, my parents, my siblings, I will not be permitted to see my own family? I will miss them. “You don’t have to worry about that. My family has the right to be in any place we want to be. It’s the perk of being a Zadicus. Even if she married to me, she would have the right to go home to her homeland.

Really? I look at her with hope in my eyes. “Don’t worry. My ancestor, my bloodline, I can do anything.” She smiled. “I am from a legendary descendant, not for nothing.” She assures me. I didn’t even notice she lead us to the dormitory building. We stopped walking when Victoria didn’t enter the front door. “It’s okay Victoria. You may come with us.

I was actually pretty relieved when she said that. “You look relieved,” Kairos mentioned before she chuckling and lead us both to her room. “Hold on, you actually get the whole room to yourself?” Victoria asked the vampire. “Only the student council has the authority to do so. Not even the princess gets her own room.” Kairos was unlocking her door.

“I have a special reason to do so. It’s almost the full moon. I need the room for myself.” She stated before walking in the room. She welcomed us in and close the door behind us. I was surprised to see her room precisely like a guy’s should be, filled with half-naked posters of girls. Well, the only difference was it’s her own picture.

“You stare at your own picture when going to sleep?” I asked. “Why not? I’m gorgeous.” She giggled while placing her stuff on the bed. “Nah. I’m just hanging it for my brother's sake. She wants me to choose which will be perfect to be the next cover for his fashion line, Nightmare by Zaff Zadicus.” She said with her hands quoting it.

“Tea?” She offered. “Sure,” Victoria said while I just nodded. “I’ll be back.” She went through the kitchen door, and I face Victoria. “Okay, she’s different from what I expected. I mean, look at this room! This ribbon, these family pictures. She’s not like any bloodsucker we met before. She’s actually quite charming.” Victoria finished with such exaggerating hand movement.

“I hope you both like black tea.” She walked out of the kitchen door while placing the tray on a table. We both went to sit on the table while watching her pouring the tea. “Usually I’ll mix it up with fresh blood, but I know you both not into that stuff.” She placed a small bowl filled with milk. “So I have milk.” She smiled and sit down. “Are you sure this is milk?” Victoria asked. She nodded. “Don’t be rude, Victoria,” I said while sipping the tea.

“This weekend, are you free?” Kairos asked me. I turned to Victoria. “What do you think, Victoria?” I asked my friend. Victoria thinks for a second. “You’re free for the whole weekend.” She smiled. “How about you?” Kairos asked Victoria. “I’m free. Why?” She asked. “Well, it’s my mother’s birthday this Saturday. She wanted me to come home. And I thought it will be a perfect time to introduce you to my family.

By reflex, I spit the tea inside my mouth on her face. “I’m sorry...” I said while wiping her wet face with my hand. “We just met today...” she showed me her wrist that has our mark on it. “It doesn’t matter because we have this to proof them. The sooner, the better right?” She was hoping I walk, say yes. “I think you should meet her family,” Victoria said while eating the scones.

“But... I’m nervous..” Kairos laughed. “Don’t be. My family will not eat you. They will embarrass me a lot. That’s for sure.” Did she just joke about it? “I won’t force you but, at least come with me, both of you, to the party. As a friend, if you’re not ready.” Kairos smiled. “My family’s ship will be coming on Friday. If you decided to go, come, meet me at the dock at 9 am. If not, I’ll be going, once the clock strike 11 am.

She willing to wait for me even If I don’t want to go?

We excuse ourself when it’s almost time for dinner. She said she’s not be joining at the banquet hall because she has her own food to snack on. We all know its blood. We were on our way towards our own dormitory building when my friends surrounded us. “Princess, are you sure you want to be with that, beast?” Asked one of the males from my village. “Princess, don’t you remember who killed your grandfather? It was a vampire. What will your father, the king if he knows about this.

“Please, let the princess rest before the banquet started. You can’t stop her if the goddess, her own aunt choose the vampire to be her soulmate.” Victoria tried to reason. “We can destroy the bond,” Tharos suggested. He made his way towards me and forcefully pulled me towards my dorm. “BOYS AREN’T ALLOWED HERE!” Tharos didn’t care as he pushed down the warden with his hand.

“Stay down!” He shouted before dragged me to my room. Victoria tried to stop him, but he’s too strong. He kicks the door towards my room, and he pushed me in. He locked the door behind him and grabbed my body. “We will destroy the bond.” He pushed me on my bed. I tried to run away, but he grabbed my body again and forced me back on the bed.

He slapped me across the face hard repeatedly until I can’t feel my cheek anymore.

“We will destroy the BOND!” He started to remove his shirt and force himself on me. “You love it when I do that. You love it. ADMIT IT!” He lost it! I tried to avoid being kiss by him as I feel I’m betraying my soulmate. “Stop it! I DON’T WANT YOU!” I screamed. “I can give you a child! She can’t! You will be a mother if you’re with me!” Again he forces himself.

I tried to use my power to remove him from on top of me but being the god of war, he’s much stronger than I am. He used one of his hand to pinned my hands down on the bed as his other hand removed his pants. I feel so weak, so vulnerable, so disgusted. He’s going to rape me. Like any other time we did, he always did this to me. I don’t want it anymore.

My eyes widened when he ripped my dress and undergarment. “No...Kairos... HELP ME!” I screamed while closing my eyes. The moment I screamed for help, I don’t feel his weight on me anymore. I reached for my duvet and covered myself. When I look up, I saw Kairos holding Tharos by the neck. Her eyes turn to a shade of red, her fangs extracted from her gums and set of black wings appeared from his back.

“YOU WILL NOT DISRESPECT MY SOULMATE!” As she yelled at Tharos, I heard a couple voice spoke together with her. Is that Kairos? Or somebody else? When she turned to me, her eyes changed from the shade of red to golden orbs. That’s the Kairos I know and love. “This man will know his place.” She said before throwing him towards the front door, destroying it as his body collided.

Victoria, who’s crying, ran towards me and hugged me. The rest of my people from the village just stare at Tharos. “He tried to ... our princess... the vampire... save her..” by now the wings that I saw on Kairos’s back was gone and so does her fangs. “Let me tell you something. The Zadicus bond will only be destroyed if one of us rejected one another. The bond will stay within us even if you kill one of us.” She’s not herself.

“Even if she dies, I WILL BRING HER BACK TO LIFE EVEN IF THAT'S THE LAST THING I DO!” She hissed. She turned to face me and kneel in front of me. “How did...” she cut me off. “I heard you calling for help. I flew here as fast as I can. I was glad I’m not too late.” She placed her head on my thigh. “I’m so glad... I really am.” She mumbled.

She looks up to me with blood-stained tears on her cheek. “I will not let anyone hurt you anymore. Even if the king of gods, I will protect you with my life if I have to. That’s my promise.” I was deeply touched by it.

“I will tell the king about this! He will kill you, vampire!” Tharos threatened when he regained his consciousness. Once again, I felt the demonic aura coming from Kairos. “You can try, god. But remember this, and remember well, I will never let you go if something happens to my soulmate.

She took my hand and kissed it. The mark on my wrist glow violet. “She’s... MINE!” She growled the last part, and it made Tharos slightly cringed from the overwhelming power.

Victoria commanded the others to bring Tharos away from my room. She excuses herself before leaving us alone. She still kneeling in front of me while holding my hands. “Sleep in my room tonight. I’ll ask the president to fix the door.” She said before looking up to me with a smile.

I could only nod. “I... want to have a bath... I feel disgusted..” she stood up and help me to the bathroom. I feel exposed with my ripped dress. “I’ll stand guard. No one will make you feel less than a queen when I’m around.” She said before closing the door. I look at myself on the mirror before I cry my heart out again. This time it’s not for what Tharos had done to me.

This time it’s for my soulmate. I don’t want my family to kill her if they know. I am weak.
