Eight

“Here are the files you asked for, Sir Lev.

Lev grins at Devika, his company’s ever reliable and capable acting president. “Come on, pres, I know you want to ask me about it.

For the past two days, he’s been asking for Devika’s help to get him the information that he needed and, of course, all of it has something to do with actor and model France Nam. Aside from the first conversation they had about the actor, Devika hasn’t really asked him about anything that he’s been up to.

For a few days that he took care of France because of his flu, he immediately knew that he was right about everything. He is still planning to hire someone for deeper insight about the truth of his scandal but that won’t be necessary for now. Not until he’s done with his own collection of information.

France Nam is one of the top actors in country because of himself. He saw it with his own eyes—through the actor’s own space, in his apartment. He said that that guy’s apartment was messy because it wasn’t properly organized at all and the things that were all over the place are all his life small achievements. He didn’t mean to get through his things, he didn’t mean to touch anything else besides everything he needed in the kitchen but it was not hard not to.

Especially when he accidentally tripped because he stepped on an old ball, making him land on a pile of—old things. Good thing that he didn’t broke anything in him nor with the things he landed upon.

That pile of old things is like a collection of France’s journeys—audition numbers, name tags, short scripts for the extras on various movies and series, backstage passes, business cards from different agencies… everything that has something to do with his early career was there. They were sold proof of his hard work over the years.

The ball that he accidentally stepped on was a ball from the TV show segment where he once worked as a writer. The logo of the show is faded but is still there.

The chances that he and France could have met are getting countless.

The person Devika asked for coffee came, and she took her first sip before sighing—finally giving up. “Do you like France Nam?

He laughs hard with her straightforwardness. “Pres!

“What? You told me to ask you. That’s the only thing I want to know.” She savagely says and added, “what we all want to know is whether you finally like someone else beside the bitch of an ex you have.”.

Everyone is really mad at his ex. That made him chuckle. “I don’t know about that yet but what I know is that I don’t like unfairness and bullying and all the bothersome things; you also know that. I already got myself too involved, turning a blind eye with his situation now is useless.

“That’s why you’re planning to cause trouble.

“I’m not that evil yet.” He grins. “I’m just going to spice things up a bit.

France Nam could be mad at him for all the wants but he will meddle with his life until he is satisfied. He’s selfish not considering what would France think about this but he’s way too hard-headed to think about that now. What’s important to him is to satisfy himself—and what would satisfy him now is doing something as fun as bringing people to their rightful places.

He really hates people who bring so much unfairness to the world.

“You do know that this is the sole reason why you… never mind.

“Come on, pres, say it.

Devika places her cup down and looks straight at him. “This is exactly why women and men alike love-hate their attraction to you. You’re like a living trap but at same time being the most irresistible one that they can’t help but to try.

He chuckles. “You flatter me, pres.

“No, Sir Lev, I don’t. In short, you’re very manipulative when you want to and that’s the danger in you.

That was like a solid stab in him, he had to laugh before faking a pained clench on his chest. “Ouch, that’s the deepest stab yet.

He’s no saint. That’s the first thing everyone should know about him.

He can be the most loyal person in the world if he wants to but that isn’t the case. Especially when he isn’t really in any committed relationship. He likes his peace and quite life above anything else but a little fun wouldn’t hurt.

The thing is, the only version of fun that he knows is playing with people’s lives.

He should be considered a player with the number of people he has been with—but no, everyone knows that he is more of a… gamemaster.

Starting a non-romantic relationship with him is a lot complicated than just sex because it will always have all the other benefits. Other benefits. Name it and he can probably give it. As long as he can get something that he needed too.

The irony of him hating the people who bully others and yet he is one too.

“Do you hate me, pres?

Devika chuckles. “There’s always the two sides of the coin, Sir Lev, and I don’t necessarily hate nor like whatever sides you have. You’re a great businessman, that’s what matters most, but you’re also a great person—you just think of yourself too bad.

Her phone suddenly rings and it’s his cousin calling to inform about their meeting. He doesn’t have to come there so he wouldn’t. It’s really nice for him to have someone as capable as this woman plus, okay, he has his cousin who works hard too.

“Before I leave, Sir Lev.

“Yes?

She grins evilly. “Victoria Saeli is one of the major producers in GY Entertainment, MS’s competitor. She met France Nam during a premiere of movie where he was casted as an extra. He was only on his way to his stardom then but rest assured that Victoria has nothing to do with where he is now. Afterall, their business with each other only lies more on the bedroom.

That made him gulp. This woman can really be evil! “H-How…?

“I saw her name on the note you handed me, probably you forgotten to erase it.” She finally stands and straightens her suit. “Both of them are fond of each other but aren’t interested in a committed relationship.

“I-I…”

She laughs. “Oh, goodness! You’re even blushing.” She shakes her head and went to the door, but before leaving she gives him one last look. “Be careful on the game you’re about to play, sir.
