She slowly tried to wake up. Her eyes fluttered. A breath she was grasping with each beeping sound, making her to come back in the living sense.

"Slowly open your eyes" A calm instructive voice of a doctor commanded her. She tried to open her eyes, once, twice, thrice...

She opened her eyes fully and all she could see was a blur image of someone standing in front of her. She whimpered in pain and fear.

"I can't see anything, why I can't see anything " She started panicking.

"Relax, take a deep breath and do as I say" Doctor said.

"Close your eyes, take a deep breath and open your eyes letting out your breath"

She did it, again and again, hoping to be able to see.

A big wave of confusion swirled in her mind, making her more anxious. She tightly closed her eyes and opened them as wide as possible. Slowly the blurry visions started becoming clearer.

"Can you see now?"

Doctor asked her.

"Yes"

She murmured. Everything was unknown for her. The white apron man, the nurse looking at her holding a register. She gulped looking at the unknown faces in front of her.

"Any pains in the body?" He asked. She looked at him a little wincing.

"My head hurts. What happened to me? Where am I? " A whimper let out from her mouth.

"Calm down first. You were in a coma for a week. You had a car accident. But you have several minor fractures which will recover and.."

Doctor was interrupted by her.

"My husband? I have a husband?"

She said abruptly crunching her eyebrows.

Doctor gaped at her once. Suddenly the door opened and a semi-tall man walked inside. He held the bouquet of flowers and has a relieving smile on his face when he looked at her.

"How are you feeling now?" He asked walking towards her. His voice deep, affectionate, unmatched to his face.

His baby blue eyes were hypnotizing enough for anyone who will stare at them and perhaps find themselves behind blue layers of the crystal glass orbs. It never left her face. His bushy eyebrows raised up waiting for her reply. His high cheekbones made him attractive as well as mysterious. Lips slightly parted, grasping a breath. But not showing the hint of tiredness on his face. Sharp long nose suited on his attractive face.

A

light stubble and eye bags under his eyes was hinting that he hasn't taken rest properly. His thick curly hair was dishevelled yet suited to him. He seems to smoulder with extravagant appealing. She couldn't help but gawk at him for a while until he breaks her zone.

"Arya, are you okay?" He asked in his deep caring voice. The bass of his voice she felt as if the melting chocolate. She nodded at him. Yes.

She noticed his appearance. The dusky-skinned man looked simple in his plain white shirt and grey trousers. The clothing looked seamless and neat.

She stared at him blankly as if she was seeing him for the first time. He waited for her to say something just like the old times. Both were expecting a different reaction.

The way his eyes held her still, the oceanic cold iceberg. She couldn't find familiarity with them.

But all he radiated warmth through them. There was a hope in the way he looked at her, while she can only pass a perplexed look.

"Who are you?" She asked.

Hearing her words he was taken aback. She noticed how his smile fade away and a frown appeared on his face. His eyebrows scrunched up as he confusedly looked at the doctor and quickly shifted his eyes on her. He opened her mouth to say something to her but looked like he was struggling to utter any word.

He went near her and sat beside her bed. He took her hand in between his palms and delicately caressed it.

"Heart, I'm your husband"

He said bringing the hope back again in his eyes and care in his voice.

"I don't remember you," She said shaking her head. She started panicking a bit.

"Do you remember his name?"

Doctor asked her.

She shook her head breathing anxiously. No.

"What.. I. " He kept the bouquet aside on the table and walked towards her."I'm your Aryan" He said cupping her face. Her fists clenched on the sheet.

"Look I brought your favourite flowers for you," He said holding the bouquet of sunflowers in his hand and giving it to her.

She just looked at him blankly, trying to remember him but couldn't. She was digging deep in her mind but all she could find was hollow space. There wasn't any feeling she could feel except pain surging through her body because of the injury.

The more she remained silent, the more he was getting restless. The baby blue-eyed boy was feeling many emotions at a time she couldn't feel a single of them.

He gave her a look of care,

She looked at him blank.

He tried to convey his love through gestures, she retracted her hand.

He was getting affected by her reactions. His eyes shown tears filled with painful disbelief. He looked at her in a way like she was breaking his heart, with each word she was saying to him.

"What happened to you, I am your Aryan," He said holding her hands closer to his chest. She could feel his rapid bouncy heartbeats.

"I don't remember"

She said removing her hand from his hold but he did not leave. She felt awkward.

"If you would not mind then I want to ask several questions to you,"

Doctor asked her.

"What is your name?"

Doctor asked.

She fluttered her eyes frantically. She looked at the said to be husband Aryan and then at the doctor.

"Arya, my Arya" Aryan said looking at her confidently.

"Do you know which year or month is going on now?"

Arya shook her head again. No.

"I don't remember" She was verge on the crying. Her lips pursed to sabotage her uncontrollable feelings.

"It's 2020, January"

Doctor said.

Arya looked completely clueless. She was avoiding to glance at Aryan. Because each time she looked at him, his stare made her feel a kind of pressure.

"Do you remember what you did last or whom you called up last?"

Arya shook her head again. No.

Meanwhile, Arya started crying out of confusion. He softly caressed her palm.

"Doctor can you just please stop, you are triggering her" Aryan asked the doctor.

"I'm only doing my work," Doctor said.

"I don't remember anything," She said while sobbing hard.

"Relax lady. Calm down. Nothing will go wrong. " Doctor tried to calm her down. Arya touched her head in pain. Doctor turned towards Aryan "If you can come outside I have something to tell you"

Aryan nodded at him and then looked at Arya. " Take rest" He breathed out while kissing on her temple. He cupped her face in his palm softly and then walked out.

After a while, the door opened and Aryan entered. He looked at Arya.

She was resting soundly on the bed. Her eyes were closed. Her breathing was slow, even and peaceful.

She felt something feathery soft touched on her cheeks radiating the warmness in her body. The touch felt unknown yet it was affecting her. She opened her eyes and found Aryan looking at her. She immediately jerked away from his touch. He sighed.

A glint of tears were visible in his eyes. She could see his eyes filled with emotions but she couldn't recognize them. She just stared at him blankly but looking at him crying she felt guilty.

"I'm sorry, I don't remember anything" She mumbled. He shook his head controlling his tears.

"That's okay. Doctors said that you are facing a memory loss. He told me you will not remember anything but don't worry. I will make you remember each and every moment of us" He said holding her hand in his fist and gave a little squeeze.

"You will remember us soon heart, I promise" His voice choked in between as he was still trying hard to control not to shade tears in front of her. She looked how firmly he was holding her hand and escaped her hand from his hold. She breathed out and felt pain in her head. She tried to touch there when his hand stopped her.Her mind was completely blank looking at him.

"Now take rest, I'll be back" He said covering her body with a sheet and got up. He walked towards the door and held the knob.Suddenly he stopped and let out a breath. Moving his sleeved arm up he wiped his tears. She noticed him crying. After he left, she sighed heavily.

She closed her eyes thinking deeply about the blue-eyed man.

Why I can't remember him?
