Chapter 8: Searching

Clara's POV

"I'm scared "

"Me too, but we have to trust our mate," Angeline said.

"I'm scared of that too." I know that I should trust my mate, I do. I do trust him, of course, it's just that I'm scared that if I trust him so much it will end up again like last time.

"Don't be scared, we will always be together" Angeline replied after a long silence.

"I know. You are me and I am you", I replied. Hearing these words always calms me down. It's our line, our chant for everything.

"Yes. We will always be one."

"Babe?"

I was startled by the sudden voice and saw Erik peeking at the door. I smiled at him and signaled him to come in. Erik walked toward me and I instantly hugged him. "What's wrong?" I asked.

"Your brother mind-linked me earlier and he said he got something about Tia."

I stiffened at the name. I didn't expect him to find things about the witch who survived and was in hiding for a decade already. "Let's go," I said.

Erik's POV

"Let's go"

There it is, her sudden change of tone. Angelic tone to serious tone with a dark expression. Sometimes it sounds cool, sometimes terrifying.

We didn't walk too far to my office because her library is next to my office. When we got there, we saw Vincent sitting drinking his coffee.

When he saw us, he stood up and the siblings hugged each other and I walked towards my chair. Then Vincent faced and bowed.

"Alpha, I have returned," Vincent said and faced Clara "Luna"

I nodded in acknowledgment and Clara smiled at him.

"Talk" I ordered.

"There's this town where I stayed for two days and while eating breakfast there are these folks who talked about a lady who doesn't age and who lived by herself in the mountains. I tried to find a house in the mountains but I didn't find a house. It looked like there was a barrier."

Clara is silent, she's just listening. "Then? I think there's more. Right, Vincent?"

"Yes Alpha". He instantly showed us his arm was heavily injured. "I tried to find the barrier and I smelled some smoke but couldn't see where the smoke was. I followed the scent and saw a tree that didn't move."

Both Clara and I were shocked at his injured arm but tried to contain our worries for later.

"What do you mean about a tree that doesn't move?" I got confused about what I heard. Trees don't move.

"I feel the strong wind but the leaves on the tree don't move like they're not affected by the wind. I tried getting closer to the trees and tried to touch one but I accidentally touched the barrier and my arm got burnt. I think that's where she lives", Vincent said.

"Brother" Clara suddenly talked and Vincent faced her.

"How did you find her?" Clara asked.

Good question. Tia has been living a life in hiding. So how can he find her so easily? For a short time.

" I smelled some alluring scent and the next thing I know I'm in that town" Vincent answered.

Clara's POV

" I smelled some alluring scent and the next thing I know I'm in that town"

Don't tell me

"Yes, sister. It's exactly what you think it is."

Impossible. This is impossible. I looked at my brother with a shocked expression when Erik talked.

"Let's talk about this again later, I think you need some rest, Vince," Erik said with a concerned face.

"I think I do need one bro. Just mind-link me later", Vincent said and waved goodbye as he walked towards the door and left.

"And you..." Erik suddenly pointed at my nose. ". I need a rest too". He kissed me on my forehead and motioned me to follow him.

----------------

We were in our room gazing at the sunset outside when I suddenly remembered my mom.

"Mommy? What are you doing?"

"Gardening *she giggled*" She stood up and faced me. When I looked at the garden behind her, I saw the most beautiful tulips I had ever seen. Black tulips. "Amazing, right? *she giggled* Do you like it?" My mom asked.

"Like it? I love it, mom!" I said excitedly.

"Just look at these flowers when there's a lot on your mind. I know that this will help". She smiled.

"Tulips, huh" I sighed.

I saw Erik walk out of our bathroom wearing only a towel. Oh God, I'm so thankful that I have this kind of mate. "If you want to see this *pointed at his body* you can just ask baby" He smirked.

I playfully rolled my eyes at him. He chuckled while picking clothes in our walk-in closet. "Do you like tulips, my princess?" I was startled by this sudden question.

"Yes, I do love them". I hid behind the pillow to hide my blush.

"We have them in the garden. You can check it if you want" he said. I started to get excited when I heard that they grew tulips here.

"I'll go check it out," I said.

Erik, now fully dressed, walked toward me and kissed my temples. "I'll let you know when the meeting will start."

I smiled at him and walked towards the door.

----------

I was about to enter the garden when I bumped into my brother who was coming out of the garden.

"Brother," I said while massaging my nose.

"Ow sorry, I didn't see you. Uhm scratches that. I can't see you because you're too small", Vincent teased me. I just rolled my eyes at him and continued walking towards the garden.

When I got there, I stopped. It's a beautiful garden that is full of different colors of tulips.

"It's amazing". My wolf said

Yeah it is

"Aunt... I mean your mom used to love tulips, right?" Vincent, who followed him to the garden, asked.

"Yeah" I smiled and just looked at the beautiful garden in front of me.

We were just sitting there gazing at the beautiful view of the garden when my brother broke the silence.

"There's a chance that she's my mate, right?"

I gazed at my brother who was looking at the tulips with a sad look in his eyes. "I don't know, brother, I don't but if she is? I'm happy for you". We smiled at each other and enjoyed viewing the tulips in different colors.

Many minutes had passed when my brother said that we should go back because Erik just mind-linked him. I nodded and we walked back to Erik's office.

When we arrived at the office, Erik smiled at us and said

"Let's start shall we?"
