Clara's POV

Erik walks toward the stage, you can see the admiration the pack members have for him. Tapping the mic twice. He cleared his throat to gain everyone's attention.

"Good evening Everyone", Erik greeted the pack. I saw the pack bow their heads.

"After that incident, I have been alone. I managed to be where I am today because I have you guys, my pack. I have been leading you alone and I know that some of you are wondering if I'll ever find my mate, if not I'll have to force myself to do a contract marriage when force mating is done but fret now my pack!" Erik suddenly shouted the last words in his sentence which made me surprised. Erik stood there and looked at his pack members with warm eyes. After looking around his pack members he started to lift his hand that was holding the mic.

"Few of you know that I have found my mate and I am thrilled at this very moment to announce that I HAVE FOUND MY MATE!" He shouted the last part. After the crowd finished shouting and cheering their alpha. Erik looked at me, we locked eyes and I gave him a nod. Seeing me nod, Erik smiled and gestured for me to go to him. Erik lifted his free hand waiting for me to be held in.

I walked toward Erik, feeling the stares at me as I walked. I slowly walk toward Erik, walking with my head high and with grace. My mom used to train me for this kind of event. She was strict but I love our training session together. I remembered my mom. I remember the words she always said to me.

"Always move with elegance."

I smiled, remembering her. I miss her so much. I wished she had been here to witness this.

"What do you think mom will say if she saw this?" I asked Angeline.

"She would be so proud and sad at the same time" Angeline replied using his softest tone.

"Why would she be sad?" I asked confused.

"Because seeing you like this can make her realize that you are now all grown up," Angeline said and I think I heard her talking with sadness in her voice. I smiled after hearing her say that and made stood more proudly.

Erik reached his hands out for me and I gladly took them.

"I'm happy to introduce to you my mate, Clara Lee. Your one and only Luna!"

I stood there and faced them properly. Everyone bowed to me. When they raised their heads, I looked around them and gave them my warmest smile.

After getting a look at me properly. I hear some of them whisper "she's beautiful" while some are shouting and cheering.

After the speech, we went down on stage and started greeting everyone who came to me. Erik introduced me and I was shocked to know that he was so popular in the pack. Not because he's the Alpha, he's popular because he is Erik in short he's friends with everyone. You can see the ruthless man acting like a boy in front of his pack. Everyone walked toward me to introduce themselves. Some even hugged me and said 'congrats'

"I'm tired, so many were to remember" my wolf whined.

I agree with her. Talking to these many people is exhausting. I tried to find Erik through the crowd and, as expected, he found me first. I saw him walking toward me without breaking our eye contact. When he was in front of me, his hands automatically found their way to my waist, and felt the same electricity every time he touches me.

"How are you?" He asked me sweetly.

"I'm fine just-" Cutting myself. I rested my head on his chest. Feeling his firm and broad chest.

"Just?" Erik whispered while kissing my temple.

"Just tired"

"Let's go home," Erik said as he pulled me away through the crowd.

"B-but we can't just leave!" I said in surprise. The event is almost finished so I think we should be here and see it through.

"Yes we can actually," Erik said with a tone that said it's final. I stopped struggling and just let him pull me away to the pack house.

I wished it was like the main house that has doors connecting it to Erik's home. The packed hall is in the middle of the territory.

"Let's shift. That way we can go home faster" Erik said and he was about to shift when I talked.

"I can't," I said with finality. I saw Erik's confused looks but he quickly masked it. As expected he may be acting sweet all the time but he can't mask being an alpha.

Erik's wolf is so wonderful and majestic that I can't stop myself to stare at him. "Okay, just climb on my back," he said, smiling. I was prepared to say some excuses at that moment when I thought he was going to ask why, but I'm glad he just let it slide. I don't want to hide something from my mate but life is not that easy.

Erik's POV

"Let's shift. That way we can go home faster"

"I can't," She said with finality. I want to ask why, but I thought about it for a second. I don't want to push her to tell me her secrets. I know she trusts me, but I think it's not the time yet. She just lost her old pack. I'll give her time. Even if it takes a decade, I know bit by bit she'll open up to me because I am her mate. Nothing can change that, only death can change it.

"Okay, just climb on my back," I said with a smile on my face. I saw relief in her eyes. I let my body change to my wolf form.

I now feel myself standing on four paws. I feel the grass on my paws and feel my fur being swept by the wind. I signaled Carla to climb on my back. I slightly bend my knees for her to climb on my back easily.

I'm bigger than normal wolves thanks to my alpha blood. Sensing and feeling that she is now sitting down properly, I started running back to our home.
