Chapter 10: Melissa

Clara's POV

I woke up, and hearing some voices in my head made me feel dizzy. I need to get used to this, and it was not like this when I was in the Hollow Angel pack. Maybe because I'm a Luna now?

*sighed*

Not seeing Erik in bed made me feel dejected, but I'm feeling in our link that he is stressed right now. I made my way to our bathroom to fix myself. After making sure I looked okay, I went straight to his office only to see him sighing.

Erik saw me and smiled, but you could see in his eyes that he was feeling down. I also saw Melissa sitting in front of Erik. What did these two talk about that made Erik feel down while Melissa was full of worry?

"Well, I'm off. I'll talk to you again about this matter soon." Melissa walked toward Erik and gave him a little hug. She then faced and walked toward me. "You should invite me for coffee. Our Luna," Melissa said while smiling. After that, she left in Erik's office. I made my way to Erik and hugged him. I can feel his sadness in our mate link. It saddened me, too, when I felt his sadness.

"What's wrong, sweety?" I asked Erik while petting his head. Erik hugged me back and sniffed my scent, and I felt him calm down; he faced me, smiling.

"Nothing, babe, she just" Erik stopped talking and sighed. "She wants to leave, I don't plan on stopping her, but it's not the right time for that. It's too dangerous, but she's too stubborn to accept my decision. I can't just use my position as an Alpha to her. She's my cousin, my precious little sister."

Erik rants and stands up, pacing around in his office. "What if Klaus goes and abducts her and uses her as a bargaining chip for me? I don't want her to experience that kind of thing," Erik said. You can hear the panic and worry in his voice.

Erik's family and close friends were gone too early. Melissa and his Mom, Ellie, is the only one left. I followed Erik and stopped him from moving. I faced him to me and held his cheeks with both of my hands, looking straight into his beautiful green-blue eyes. "Everything will be okay, and she's too strong and smart for Klaus to easily abduct her," I said while looking straight into his eyes.

"You calm down and try to talk to her again, and you should also finish listening to what she would say before you react and reject her, okay?" I said and gave him a peck on the lips.

"I'll try," Erik said and sighed again. I gave him a look, and he just shrugged his shoulders. He looked so cute that I just laughed at him.

"I'll look around in the pack house and think maybe Ian would show me around, but hearing Melissa's invitation earlier. I suppose I'll make her show me around in the pack house." I said to Erik remembering my purpose in coming to his office.

"That's a great idea, sweetheart. Maybe you could talk to her?" Erik said while acting cute. I just laughed at him and said. "That's your job, and even if we talked, I wouldn't tell you" I gave him a look and saw him pouting. I walked towards him and hugged him, sniffing his godly scent.

Erik hugged me back. "Breakfast?" He asked. "Yeah, I still haven't eaten anything yet. I came here first," I said, replying to him.

We made our way to the kitchen while holding hands. We saw Vincent sighing while drinking his coffee on the kitchen counter. Why does everyone seem stressed? "Hey, bro!" I called on him and patted his back.

He got startled and spilled his coffee. I laughed at him, and he just frowned at me. While wiping the counter, he asked, "What do you want?" He told me using his irritated tone. "What's your problem, Vince?" Erik asked, sitting beside him at the counter. I made my way to the other side of the counter to look for something to cook.

Vincent sighed. "I don't know. I feel scared meeting her"

"Why?" I asked while making some coffee for Erik.

I passed the coffee to Erik and started cooking some eggs and sausages. "Is it because she lived longer than you, and she's a witch?" I continued.

"What? No!, I'm wondering if I'm ready for this or if I'm going to be a great mate," Vincent said, feeling dejected. I had never seen him look this weak before. Erik and I looked at each other, and Erik just patted him on the back.

"You'll do just great. You're a good man Vincent. Trust my words," Erik said. Vincent smiled at him and finished his coffee. He walked to the sink and started washing the cup he used.

As I finished cooking, I set the plates and gave Erik his plate. I walked toward Vincent, who had just finished washing his cup, and hugged him. "I'm very confident that you can make your mate happy."

"Thank you to both of you" Vincent smiled at us, and we could see that he was okay now. After that, Vincent left us in the kitchen, saying he had work to do, and we ate our breakfast.

~~~~~~~
"Hey Melissa," I mind-linked Melissa to show me around the pack house and to bond with her.
"Hey, what's up?" Melissa answered.
"I was just wondering if you could show me around the pack house?"
"Okay, sure. I'll go to your library."
"Okay then, see you," I said and blocked her. I mind-linked Erik, saying I'll be with his cousin to tour around the pack house.
I had already become the official Luna of the pack when Erik marked me, but I didn't get the chance to look around at my new home. I walked around my library, looking at the latest books that Erik had bought for me. While scanning the books, I heard someone knock, and Melissa was standing at the door, smiling.
"Let's go?" Melissa asked, and I nodded as a response. I closed the book I was holding and returned it to the shelf.
Melissa showed me every place in the pack house, including the basement where captured rogues were being held. The last place she showed me was the training ground where younger werewolves play while the adults fight each other to train.
We sat on the bench and watched the kids and others in the training field.
"How's the pack? Pretty big, huh?" Melissa asked to start the conversation.
"Yeah, It's pretty big, and the werewolves are nice," I said.
"It was pretty small back then, but Erik made his way to the top, and now they are calling him the strongest Alpha." She said, laughing.
I stayed silent to listen to her story about Erik. "It was pretty brutal back then, and Erik was a child and a teen, but he chose to suffer rather than us. At a young age, he started killing rogues until he was called ruthless. He became stoic, we could joke around, but he would smile. My dream is to travel around, meet various werewolves, and learn more about the world. I want to see the world's beauty with my own two eyes, but I can't leave Erik. I've never seen him happy. Now that you're here and I can see that Erik is happy. He's becoming more open, and recently I saw him laugh." Melissa said, looking at me straight in the eyes.
"You know that he's just worried, right? With Klaus out there," I asked her.
"I never said I would leave immediately, but Erik flatly refused when he heard the word leave. He is so overprotective." Melissa scoffed while saying it.
"You're just that important to him, but I bet he'll give his permission. Just give him more time. He said that you are his precious little sister, you know." I said and bumped my shoulder to hers. She laughed and stood. Stretching her hands through the sky, she said, "I'm pleased that you are here beside him. Take good care of my brother. We may be cousins, but we grew up as siblings." She faced me and smiled.
"Will do," I said, smiling.
