Chapter 7: Lover

“Your Highness… so you already know the prophecy?” West King Yako asked.

“Huh? I – “ I said, then looked at Vice. Even she is looking at me, puzzled. “I…” I said.

The West King sighed. “Very well.” He said. “This just makes it all simpler. As what the prophecy said, you will help my son and my son will kill the evil king.” He said.

“That’s why I’m so against this since Yelena will face grave danger facing against the evil king when she aids the West Prince – “ my father said and sighed.

The West King ignored him. “ – and the two kingdoms – the West and the East, will be united by two hearts. That would be my son, and you, the East Kingdom’s princess.” He said and pointed me. “You’re going to marry my son.” He stated.

“Huh?” I said. “Huh?!” I said, shocked. “Wait a minute! I thought I’d just save the prince here, so why should I also marry him – ?!“ I asked.

“That’s what the prophecy said.” King Yako answered.

“The heck – “ I bit my tongue. Calm down, Yelena. Don’t blow your cover. I took deep breath. “Pardon my insolence, Your Majesty the West King, but – “ I said, then took a deep breath. “I have a boyfriend.” I said.

“Huh? ‘Boyfriend’? What’s that?” Yako asked.

I sighed. So, their language is really so old. I thought. “To be more precise – “ I said. “I have a lover.” I said.

“What – “ they all said, shocked. “This can’t be!” they exclaimed.

“Yelena! Who is he?” my father asked. “So, you really just ran away to find a lover?” he asked.

“Oh, my.” My mother said as she touched her blushing cheeks. However, her eyes are sparkling in excitement. “He’s so lucky to have my kind-hearted daughter…” she said, wiping her tears.

“Wait a minute!” Yako said. “You can’t - !

“Sir.” I said, looking at him straight in the eye. “I already agreed to help you save your son. I also have no intention to take your kingdom.” I said. “So, could you please keep this as a promise never to mess with my love life?” I asked. “In that way, you could choose a woman for your son to marry, or he could choose freely of whom he should marry. This is a win-win situation for you, isn’t it?” I asked. “All I ask is that you don’t mess with my life. That’s all.” I finished.

It took a long while before Yakov answered. “A – All right.” He said.

I secretly sighed, relieved. Thank goodness! I hope he won’t ask who he is –

“But.” He said, then looked at me. “Can you tell me who is your lover?” he asked.

“Huh?” I said.

“I’ll agree if you could show me your lover. That’s all.” He said.

Oh, shit! My face went pale. I can’t tell them my non-existent lover is from my world, can I? Well exactly, I don’t have a lover! I thought. I keep my love life confidential every time I have a press con or fan signing event so that the world won’t know I never had a boyfriend in my entire life! They all will laugh at me! I thought. The sought-after actress has never been in love!

“Yelena? Are you alright?” my mother asked when she noticed my silence.

“My daughter, where is that lucky boy now? I’ll crown him as a prince.” My father said and smiled.

Oh no… those smiles… I thought as I looked at my parents. I don’t want to break their hope. “Err…he’s… uhm…” I said as my eyes darted around until they fell on Vice who’s silently standing beside me.

I looked at her. She raised her eyebrows telling me, “What?”.

An idea popped in my head. That’s it! I could use her! I thought. I smiled. “Everyone…” I said. “May I present to you, my lover – “ I said and pulled Vice’s arm. “ – Vice.” I told them.

“What… hey!” she said, surprised, as she pulled her arm back from my hold.

“What – ?!” they all said, shocked. Their faces cracked.

“Are you kidding me?!” Yako said, angry, as he glared at me before he glared at Vice.

“Y-Yelena…” my father said, shocked. “You don’t mean – “ he said and looked at Vice before he collapsed.

“Dear!” my mother said and helped my father. She looked at me. “Oh, my.” She said as she stared at Vice. “She’s a fine young woman, too, Yelena. You chose well.” She told her before she helped her husband up.

Vice grabbed my collar. “What the heck is this?!” she asked, mad.

“A – ahahaha…” I said. “Aren’t you glad I told them about us?” I asked.

“Hah?!” she said, then grabbed my collar tighter I almost lost my breath. “The heck are you – “

“You’re telling us she’s your lover?!” Yako said after he recovered from his shock. “Prove it!” he said.

“Huh?” I said.

He crossed his arms. “Kiss her.” He said.

My jaw dropped to the bottom of Marianas trench. Vice looked petrified.

“See? He’s really not your lover.” Yakov said, grinning. “Then you marry my son – “

So that’s how you’ll play it, huh. I thought. I grinned, then touched Vice’s cheek and kissed her. Their jaws dropped to the floor.

“Holy shit – “ I heard Emil said. He’s peeking at the door.

Her lips are really soft. I thought when I remembered staring at Vice every time I listened to her. Every time her blood-red lips move, my eyes are caught.

I suddenly licked her lips. I felt her trembled. I grinned. She must be terrified. I thought. Kissing scenes are inevitable when filming dramas or movies. Thus, even if I have no boyfriend, but I have kissed countless men. Also, I have kissed women, be it because of dares, or also in filming. Kisses between men, or kisses between women are nothing. As long as your conscience is clear, or if you really wanted to be touched.

I finally let go of Vice. Her face is so red, whether out of anger or embarrassment. I looked at her eyes that always captured me. Her eyes are glassy. I thought. Shit! Could it be, she was too much terrified?!

“F – Fine!” Yako said and rose from his seat. His chest is heaving up in down. He’s horrified, as well as mad. “Just… just save my son. Have a g-good day!” he said, then fled out of the room.

“You…” I heard Vice spoke. She finally recovered from shock.

I looked at her. “Huh? Ngh!” I cried when she slapped me. She looked at me, her beautiful silver pupils full of hatred. She then ran out of the room.

I deserve this. I thought and wryly smiled.

“Ye… Yelena!” my mother cried after she saw her daughter was slapped. “Are you alright?” she asked, her eyes looked worried. She touched my red cheek.

“Ow – “ I cried and hissed in pain.

“Sorry.” The queen said. She looked at the door where Vice went out before she turned to me. “She’s not your lover, is she?” she asked. I nodded. She smiled. “What a waste.” She said.

“Huh?” I asked.

She smiled. “She’s a fine young woman.” she said. “You go after her. I’ll explain everything to your father when he wakes up.” She told her.

I turned to the king lying unconsciously on the cold floor. “… is he alright?” I asked and saw Emil carefully picked up my father.

The queen chuckled. “Yes.” She said and patted my shoulder, urging me to go after Vice.

Before I went out of the door, I saw Emil almost dropped my father when I looked at him. “That was just a joke.” I told him before I went out of the room to look for Vice.
