CHAPTER 3

Khalil cursed loudly after he talked with his father and his voice roared like thunder as he shouted for Alvin. “What took you so long?” He yelled as the man came hurriedly from the kitchen and he glared at the dirty apron on top of his clothes.

“I was cooking,” Alvin explained his tardiness. After a month of relying on food deliveries, Khalil was sick of pizza and chicken that he obliged Alvin to hire a cook as soon as possible. Unfortunately, no one was interested as of the moment, so he was forced to the job instead. When he agreed to come with him at The Highlands, he hasn’t expected to be downgraded into a household help.

“I see. Have you heard anything about the heiress of the Katerina Hotel?” Khalil inquired as he couldn’t find anything on the internet about Sofia Arellano, the woman he was arranged to marry before the year would end.

“Hmmm, just rumors that she has deformities and that’s the reason why her father hid the woman in a faraway place. Why?” Alvin’s curious to know why Khalil was suddenly interested in the mysterious heiress of Katerina.

“Never mind. What are you cooking?” For several days, Alvin fed him with fried fish and hardboiled eggs, and to be honest, he didn’t feel like having fish anymore.

“Grilled pork chop,” he replied.

“Okay. Has anyone called to apply as a cook?” Khalil followed-up about their job hiring for kitchen staff, and when Alvin shook his head, he let out a deep sigh. “Just call me when dinner is ready,” he ordered, and Alvin headed back to the kitchen.

Khalil was furious and he couldn’t think clearly unless he would be able to release his anger in bed. He strolled aggressively towards the West Wing of the manor to get laid and when he arrived at his destination, the women exclaimed their excitement. Silently, he cursed Alvin for lying to them that he’s in search of a wife amongst them, and the women considered the harem as a place to showcase their abilities in bed.

Their smiles were demure and cute but he knew better! It’s just a façade and once they got what they wanted, the mask would fall off, just like his latest girlfriend, Cholen Sy. Not just Cholen, but the rest of the women he dated in the past! They all treated him as a ticket for fame and power. Well, Cholen was a little different though because she wasn’t a gold-digger, nevertheless, she was a player who played him on top of her palm.

Amongst the women in the parlor, he noticed the redhead, and when he stared at her, she lowered her eyes coyly. Khalil smirked at her coyness and he knew she practiced it well. “Hey, come here,” Khalil called the redhead and she stood up nervously. The redhead woman moved closer to him and as soon as she was so close, Khalil grabbed her tiny waist and whispered. “Let’s go to your room, sweetheart.” He ordered.

For the past months, Khalil learned to release his anger and frustration through sex. As soon he closed the door behind him, he began to undress her, and in less than a minute, a redhead goddess stood in front of him, and Khalil gasped at her perfection before he unzipped his pants and pulled it down, including his boxer short.

Without further ado, he carried her into the bed and crawled on top of her. The woman has been his favorite among the crowd and it wasn’t his first time to use her. “Spread your legs, baby.” He commanded her, and when she obliged, Khalil positioned himself to enter her. He groaned as his hardened flesh slowly penetrated her tightness, and the woman arched her head, and Khalil bit unto the soft skin on her neck.

Later on, the room was filled with their moans and the woman cried for his name several times and he loved hearing her seductive voice calling for his name every time he hit the most sensitive spot inside her body.

Khalil moved faster, deeper, and harder into her until his sexual desire was sated.

After the first round, Khalil left the woman and went to the bathroom to wash, then he was off to go. He was already at the door when he decided to look back at the woman who remained on her bed, and he smiled at her. The woman’s eyes lit up as if it was the most beautiful thing she received throughout her life.

What a pity, he said and shook his head in disbelief!

Khalil considered it funny that it has always been like that. Women used sex to get a man’s attention, but he wouldn’t fall for the trick again. No amount of sex could thaw his hardened heart. After all the lies and betrayal he experienced in the past, he wasn’t inclined to gamble his heart once more.

After the quick shower, Khalil decided to call his father, and Don Armando as well. It’s a three-way conference call to discuss his pending engagement with Sofia Arellano. He had no idea that Don Armando was a cunning bastard and he couldn’t let his family become involved with the Arellano.

As the situation was out of control, he needed to step up being the eldest of the Dizon Family and he planned to warn Don Armando that anyone from his family shouldn’t be messed with. When the call was connected, Khalil stared at the other man and he concluded that looks could be deceiving sometimes. Don Armando didn’t look like a cunning bastard! He looked innocent and composed.

“Good evening, Don Armando. I’m glad that you’re able to join this call,” Khalil introduced himself to Katerina’s founder. “I’m sorry about the failed engagement between your daughter and Ariel, Don Armando.” He apologized for the mishap, but deep inside, he loathed the way the old man smirked at the camera. “Did my father inform you about my terms in agreeing to this marriage?” Khalil asked.

A line appeared on the forehead of Don Armando and he looked confused. “Such as?” he asked.

“Let’s draft another contract for the engagement, and I want Sofia to remain a virgin until our wedding night or it would be a ground for filing an annulment.” He declared coldly.

Don Armando blinked his eyes several times because he didn’t know how to deal with Khalil, but later on, he nodded his head in agreement. “Alright, then I’ll leave it to our attorney to draft the agreement.” He said.

“Thanks,” Khalil said to Don Armando “Pa, I won’t be available during the engagement party, so please do what is necessary,” Khalil suggested another engagement by proxy, and Don Armando gasped for breath, however, he didn’t say anything.

“Okay, son. We will revise the contract, and I’ll keep you updated on the dates.” Mario promised.

After everything was discussed on the video call, Khalil disconnected the conference between the three of them and waited on Alvin to call on him for dinner. Khalil was supposed to contact a friend tomorrow but decided to call the man while waiting for Alvin.

“The money is not yet ready, Khalil,” Anthony said as he answered the phone.

Khalil laughed at Anthony’s tone because as expected, Anthony assumed he called because of the money. “My friend, how are you? I didn’t call you about the money, are you free tonight?” Khalil asked. He wanted to discuss it in private and Anthony knew him since they were in middle school. “If you are, come to The Highland immediately.” He ordered and his friend promised to come around eight in the evening.

Just after he finished talking with Anthony on the phone, Alvin’s head peeked at the door, and it was a sign that dinner was ready. I stood up and followed him to the dining hall. No matter what kind of food they had to eat every mealtime, Khalil made it a rule for everyone to show up at the dining hall in their finest clothing.

As usual, he sat like a King, and in front of him were all his subjects. Alvin and some of the other staff served their dinner of grilled pork chop with gravy and rice. When everyone was catered, he made a sound to get their attention. “Has anyone of you here learned how to cook?” He asked all the women in attendance, and their silence was enough for Khalil to drop the topic. He wondered why no one applied for the job when the salary was high! It was even higher than those who worked in five-star hotels like Katerina or KM!

They ate their dinner in silence in less than an hour. Khalil wasn’t in the mood to chitchat with one of the women as his usual evening routine. He was pissed at his temporary cook, and if he couldn’t find a chef anytime soon, he would probably go crazy!

“Anthony is here,” Alvin announced his friend’s arrival, and Khalil stood up to meet with the man.

“Where is he?” Khalil asked Alvin.

“At the bar,” he answered.

Khalil nodded and strolled towards the bar, and when he saw his buddy from school, a wide grin appeared on his mouth. “Long time no see, Anthony!” He said and tapped Anthony’s shoulder. The other man smiled, and he asked him if he wanted to have some whiskey.

Anthony eyed the man who was kind enough not to send his father to jail after the old man messed up with his job. “What was so urgent that you want to talk to me in person?

“Do me a favor,” Khalil offered.

“A favor? What’s in it for me?” He’s also a businessman and even if they’re friends, he should get something in return from Khalil Dizon.

“I’ll wipe off all the money your father owed to the company, how about that?” Khalil narrowed his eyes as he waited for Anthony’s answer, and when he saw the other man smiled, he knew that they had a deal.

“Sounds great. So, how can I help you?” Anthony inquired.

“I need you to seduce the heiress of Katerina Hotel,” Khalil announced and Anthony’s smile faded slowly.
