Chapter 7

THIRD PERSON POV

Charlie was awakened by a throbbing head ache and a serious need to pee. Both of which were caused by all the alcohol she consumed last night. She turned over and saw a very naked Sophia lying next to her. "Oh damn. I did it again." She very slowly rolled out of bed and stood up. Her body was not thanking her for last night that was for sure. She walked into the bathroom to take care of the more pressing matter.

When she had finished, she walked into the kitchen to make some breakfast. As she sat eating with her head still pounding, there was a knock on the door. "Who could that be?” a very annoyed Charlie asked out loud. She got up and stomped her way to the door. "WHAT" She asked as she opened the door.

Nobody was there. Or so she thought until she looked down. A tiny baby maybe a couple of days old in a basket was there on her steps.

Charlie looked around but didn't see anyone. She looked at the baby again. She was very carefully wrapped in a pink blanket. Whoever put her there obviously cared about her. But why was she left here? Charlie thought. Then, her mind turned angry. "Some one night stand is probably trying to get my money for someone else's mistake. It wouldn't be the first time someone tried this."

Charlie picked up the basket and went to call the police to have them take the baby away. But something stopped her. When she picked up the basket, an aroma filled her nose, and memories of one woman came flooding back. "No. It cant be." She thought. She looked at the basket, and on the side was a note. Not only was her scent in the basket, but Charlie knew that hand writing as well. She began reading the letter.

MY DEAREST CHARLIE,

I am sorry to tell you about your baby girl this way, but I just couldn't face you. I feel guilty for leaving you all of the sudden. I so badly wanted to tell you sooner, but my parents had kept me hidden away. At first they were going to let me keep the baby, but after she was born they gave me two options. Give the baby up for adoption or give the baby to you. I couldn't stand the thought of my baby going to some strangers who may not care much for her, so I chose you. I know you have a wonderful heart and will take good care of our little Samantha. I hope someday you can forgive me.

With All My Heart,

V.D.

The initials confirmed what Charlie already new. "Tori" Was all she said. She then looked at the baby closer. She was definitely Victoria's daughter. The same captivating eyes, and, uh oh, she had Tori's pout. That always got her into trouble. In fact, it was what led to the night little Sam here was conceived.

The baby started to fuss a little, so Charlie picked her up.

Charlie breathed in deeply the baby's scent. It was Tori. The sweet smell always comforted her. Tori was her first real love. She was the one who got away. "Tori... You have no idea how much I miss you. And suddenly, you gave her to me..." Charlie could feel tears began to form.

The baby started to cry more,, and after a few minutes, Sophia walked in with a towel held to her breasts.

"So that's why my breasts started pouring out milk out of no where. Who's baby do you have, Charlie?" Sophia asked in confusion.

Charlie turned and looked at her. "Mine."

Sophia noticed the baby was not comfortable. "Come." She took the baby into her arms and walked towards the couch. "When they fuss a little or cry, just check their diaper. If it’s clean, they’re just hungry." She checked her diaper. "She's hungry. Do you have any milk formula." She asked and noticed Charlie looking at her. "I Guess not." She then loosened up her towel and let the baby breastfeed from her. "My body still produces milk because sometimes when Sabrina has trouble sleeping she asks for my milk rather than the formula." She explained to Charlie.

Charlie watched as little Sam latched on Sophia's breast and began to sleep again.

Sophia wanted to ask something, but she was afraid. She only remembered parts of the events last night. All she remembered was having a sensation enter her body and tear her apart. She took a breath. "Charlie..."

Charlie smiled at her. "Yes Sophia?" She noticed Sophia looked troubled.

"Ummm. Did we... Last night... Unprotected?"

Charlie didn’t know what to say. She didn’t want Sophia to be mad. She cared for her deeply. "I think so."

Sophia's face fell.

"I'm sorry. We were both drunk. And I'm..."

Sophia smiled. "No need to explain. That's why I don't want to be drunk." She looked at the little baby in her arms. "She's asleep. Where should I put her?"

"My room is fine."

Sophia nodded and tried to stand up. But her towel threatened to fall to the ground. "Umm... Could you help me tie my towel to my body?"

Charlie walked to her side. "Sure." She carefully tied the towel to Sophia’s body and smiled.

"Thanks."

"Come back down for breakfast. Okay?"

Sophia smiled and walked upstairs.

Charlie reached for her phone and decided to call her Sister.

After three rings, her sisters voice came through.

"Uhhhh... I have something to tell you. But you need to come here." Charlie let her Sister nag on the phone. "Can you be here? That's all I'm asking."

Her Sister just hung up. But for Charlie, that was a good sign. Her sister would be here in minutes.

Sophia lay the baby on the bed gently. Now that she looked at her thoroughly, she did have Charlie's hair and nose. Sophia smiled. "She would surely be a very beautiful lady in the future."

Then, something bothered Sophia’s mind all of the sudden. "If the baby is here and it's Charlie's. That means….. Oh no..." Sophia dropped to the floor. What if she was…. What if... She couldn’t think of anything. "Let's not go to the worst case scenario, Sophia. There's always a chance it will not be that way... You and your ex had to try several times to get Sabrina... Yes..." She tried to convince herself. She got up and walked inside the bathroom. She reached for a robe and wore it.

Charlie waited patiently at the dining table. She heard footsteps and looked up to see Sophia in one of her robes. She smiled as the goddess herself descended the stairs. Sophia took a seat next to Charlie and smiled.

They had their breakfast. Talked a little.

Sophia asked for a clean set of casual wear, so she could have a shower and go home.

As Charlie watched the chauffeur send Sophia home, Andrea's car came into view. The loud growling engine of her Morgan Aero Super Sport never failed to make everyone look in its direction.

Slim legs were the first thing Charlie saw coming out of her sister’s car. Then her sisters expression showed she was not amused at all. "It's 10:00A.M. And why am I here?"

Charlie grabbed her sister’s hand and dragged her to her room. She opened her door slowly not to wake the baby up.

Andrea was so confused.

As they walked in, Charlie pointed at the bed, and Andrea gasped.

"CHARLIE! Who's kid did you kidnap?!" Andrea hissed.

"Unbelievable. Andrea, look closely."

Andrea did, and she gasped again. "She has your nose and hair! Oh no. This is yours?!"

Charlie slowly nodded. "Here." She handed her the letter.

Andrea read it, and her eyes widened. "It's Victoria?"

Charlie nodded.

"We need to do a DNA test. Is there any birth certificate?

Charlie shook her head no.

"Okay. I'll handle this. But she looks. Peaceful. The first time I saw a kid not fussing at a stranger’s house."

"Sophia breastfed her to sleep. She was crying before."

Andrea looked at her Sister. "Sophia was here?"

Charlie nodded.

Did something..." Andrea noticed a ripped bra and dress on the floor. "Isn't that... You and... Oh no... You guys did wear protection, right?"

Charlie didn't say anything.

"Charlie!" Andrea sighed. "If something happens to her, you need to take responsibility! NO BUTS! And I will take care of…. What's her name?" She asked as she took a seat on the bed.

"Samantha. It says on the letter."

Andrea smiled. "I will take care of little Sam."

Charlie hugged her Sister. "Thanks sis. I owe you."

Andrea smiled. "But don't be a dead beat dad. Visit her always! Or I swear I'll kill you in your sleep." ...

SOPHIA'S POV

On the ride home I kept trying to remember what happened last night. She saw me in all my glory. And I was sure I saw her, too, but I seriously didn’t remember anything. Except that one crucial feeling inside me being stirred up. Seeing how Charlie treated me this morning, she didn't look like its just a one time thing. She even said I should follow her shopping for Sam's baby stuff.

I had to admit it. I thought I... Well, I thought…. I was falling for her. I smiled stupidly to myself.

"Why so happy?" Carmela asked me.

"Nothing." I said.

She looked unconvinced. "Yeah right. Did something happen?"

I smiled sheepishly.

"Yup. Something happened. Tell me."

"Nothing happened.

Carmela looked at me again. "You're glowing... DID YOU HAVE SEX?"

How could she be this observant? I didn't say anything.

“Shit you did! How was it?"

Again, I stayed silent.

"It was that good, huh?"

I didn’t even remember.

"So we're playing the silent game? Fine. But remember this. Whatever is happening between you both. Just be careful. Charlie is one of those people who dated a lot of woman. Don't get your heart broken again, sis." Carmela was about to go out when she stopped and turned around. ”Brian came last night. He was asking for you. He was drunk and was about to Attack me until one of Charlie's bodyguards threw him out."

"WHAT?! Did Sabrina know?"

Carmela shook her head. "She was asleep. Like I said, be careful, Sophia. That man is crazy. If Charlie's bodyguard didn't stop him I may be dead by now."

Anger washed over me. What did he want?! He threw me out! He divorced me! How could someone as sweet as him go to as bad as that!

"I'm going to the restaurant now. Sabrina’s still asleep. Love yah." Carmela went to hug me.

"Thank you, Mel." I hugged her back.

She smiled and walked out of the house.

I looked around the house and sighed. Carmela had never been a fan of cleaning. I tied my hair into a ponytail and started to vacuum every room, corner and space of this house. I dusted every table, couch and even the furniture. I even cleaned Carmela's messy bed.

I opened my baby's room carefully not to wake her up. She looked so peaceful. She didn’t deserve to live with an abusive Father at all. Why couldn’t Brian be as sweet as he was in high school. Why did he have to change.

"Mom..."

I turned to see my angel waking up. "Yes honey.."

She held her hands up. That was the sign she wanted to be picked up.

I picked Sabrina up, and she rested her head on my shoulder.

"Where were you yesterday? Missed you..."

My heart melted. "I'm sorry, honey. Mommy was working."

She hummed.

I walked out of her room and went to the kitchen.

"Hey Sophia." A voice behind me made me jump. ”Shit sorry. I knocked. But the door is unlocked. So I just came in."

Was that.… It was Charlie. "It's fine. But next time, please shout or something. You nearly gave me a heart Attack."

Charlie laughed at me. "Okay. Sorry. Hey little Sabrina."

Sabrina lazily waved at her. Her eyes were still half closed. But as soon as she knew it was Charlie, her eyes shot open. "TOYS!"

Charlie looked so confused.

I chuckled. "After you bought her all those toys, she called you toys."

Charlie nodded her head. "Well. Are you ready to have more toys?" She asked my little baby.

"No. She's not." I said strictly.

"But... Mommy..."

"No means no." I stuck to my opinion.

"Oh come on, Sophia. It's not that much. Just a little toy... Toys..."

Was she trying to spoilt my kid.

"Mommy.. Daddy never bought me toys, and I wanted them.

It struck me. Sabrina's words struck me hard. She was right. Brian’d never been a good Father to her. I turned to look at Charlie. "I thought you're buying things for Sam?"

"I can spoil both. Including you. Go get ready. I'll be waiting here." Charlie said and sat on the couch.

"But..."

Charlie stopped me from talking. "No buts. Go get ready. Put on something comfortable." She looked me up and down. "Maybe something with less cleavage."

My eyes widened.

Charlie laughed. "Joking. Go... Get ready."

I sighed and picked Sabrina up. "I'll be right back."

Charlie hummed her response.

What was she planning to do now...

CHARLIE'S POV

"So. Where should we start first?" I asked them.

"TOYS!" Sabrina yelled.

I Guess we could do that. "Sure. Let's go!" I picked Sabrina up and ran to the toy store. I was guessing she never had a father figure to spoil her, so I’d just have to.

"Little Sam will love this!" She picked up a Barbie doll.

On the way, Sophia explained to Sabrina about Sam. It was a wonder how mature Sabrina was for a three-year-old.

"Put it... inTo the cart!"

Sabrina happily put it in.

Sophia just shook her head watching us buying stuff. "Charlie. Don't spoil her too much."

"It's fine."

Sophia shook her head.

Sabrina pulled my pants trying to get my attention. "Can we have this?" She pointed at the Barbie doll house.

"Sure. Put it... inTo the cart!"

"Sabrina!" Sophia called for her Daughter.

Sabrina stopped and looked down to the floor.

"Hey. Don't yell at her. She's just a kid. Come on. It's not Every day. Let her have fun."

Sophia looked at little Sabrina.

"Who knows... She will be my Daughter in the future, too." I said lowly.

"What? Can you repeat that?"

"Nothing." I smiled sheepishly. "Now. Where were we? Oh yes. The house." I asked the salesperson to deal with it. "Why are we here again?" I asked myself.

"For Sam?" Sophia said behind me.

"Oh yes. What should I buy?"

Sophia looked around at the baby corner and picked everything that the baby needed. I noticed how happy she looked picking up the baby clothes.

"That's all you need?"

Sophia shook her head. "No. Do you need to buy a crib?"

I looked at her confused. "Crib? You know what. Just buy everything." I smiled, and Sophia laughed.

Sophia took everything that caught her eyes. Formula, diapers, wipes, bibs, clothes, bottles, pacifiers, toys, blankets, crib, bath stuff, car seat, stroller, teething toys, burp cloths, Rocking chair, towel, dresser and changing table.

A baby needed all of this stuff? Wow.

"I think we got it all."

"You sure?"

She nodded.

"Can you pick something for Sabrina as well."

"Huh? Why? She has enough stuff."

I leaned in. "Sophia, she needs new things. Look at her worn shoes.

Sophia looked sad.

"I'm sorry. But. Let's buy her stuff."

Sophia nodded. She picked new clothes, new bedding and new shoes for little Sabrina.

"That's all?"

She nodded.

"Let's pay for it."

We walked to the counter.

"Add this to my bill."

The cashier smiled.

"Can you send it all to my house. Thank you."

"Sabrina. Where should we go next?"

She shrugged.

"I think we should shop for mommy's clothing now."

Sabrina nodded her head. "Yes!"

Sophia instantly shake her head no. "No. It's okay. I don't need any new clothes."

"I didn't ask." I grabbed her hand and dragged her to a Gucci store. "Let's make magic together." I smiled.

“I’ve never been into this store." She walked to a simple shirt and gasped. "It's $400! For a plain tee!"

I shrugged. "So? It's designer. Come on. Choose."

Sophia looked around. She always checked the price tag first and left it.

I walked up behind her and hugged her. I know she completely didn't expect my gesture. "Look. I don't remember what happened last night, but I'm sure we bonded. At least let me pamper you with gifts and love just for a day. I know you want it. Now..." I pulled away and smiled."Pick anything you want." I chuckled when I noticed she was blushing hard. I watched as she chose some blouses and skirts.

"That's it?"

I shook my head and dragged her to the dress section. "Working for Avilia Corporation, you need to be confident. And clothes can make you feel confident." I said and pulled out a plain white knee high dress. I handed it to her. I looked around and my eyes caught a beautiful black with red straps knee high dress. "This will perfectly compliment your Long slender legs.” I dragged her to the shoe section. "Do you sell any Louboutin's?"

They nodded.

"Because you’re shorter than I am. You need... Six inch heels. What better brand than the red sole Louboutin pumps!" I smiled. I looked at the collection. Love it! "Buy them all."

"I only have 2 feet."

I smiled. "You need them for different occasions. Dinner, lunch, meetings, work, or whatever. You don't wear the same heels for different occasions. You’re my 'fiancée' after all." I smiled. "Now that we're done. Let's eat. I know Sabrina is starving."

Sophia nodded.

"McDonald’s?" Sabrina jumped excitedly.

"I think there's one in this fricking mall." To be honest, I never... Dreamt of stepping my foot in a fast food restaurant.

"You’ve never been here, huh?"

I shook my head no.

"Where have you been?!"

"Well, I do eat outside. But to a five star restaurant or sushi place."

Sophia chuckled. "You need to be taught how to live as a normal person."

"I am normal."

"Caviar as breakfast? No honey, that's not normal."

What did she just call me? "I'm sorry can you repeat what you said?"

She blushed. "I didn't say anything."

"Yes you did. You called me honey."

She tried to change the subject.

"No baby, you just called me honey. Don't change the subject." I teased her more.

"Yes Charlie, I called you honey." She finally gave up.

"I know. Call me that again." I leaned in.

"Why are you leaning in?"

"Call me honey again."

She shook her head violently.

I laughed. "Come on."

She put her hands on my chest to stop me leaning in.

I laughed. “I’m joking, baby."

Again, she blushed.

I looked at Sabrina who was busy devouring her food. Suddenly, I thought of something wicked. I picked up some fries and put them near Sophia's mouth.

She looked at me confused.

"Come on. Open up." If only she could be more red than this. I laughed at her.

She slowly opened her mouth, and I put the fries inside.

"See it's not that bad. I want to try those mashed potatoes.

She gave me the bowl.

I raised my eyebrows and pointed to my mouth. "Feed me."

She looked at me as if asking me 'seriously?!'

I smiled and waited.

She sighed and picked up the spoon, scooped up the mashed potatoes and put them in my mouth.

"Hmmm. Yummy."

"Well, well, well. Look at this display." A guy decided to disturb our peace.

I turned around to see someone familiar. I thought I knew him.

"What do you want, Brian?"

"Daddy!" Sabrina said and went to hug the man.

"Sabrina, get back here!"

This guy picked Sabrina up. "What? I can't hold my own kid, Sophia?"

Sophia clenched her fist. "You threw us out of the house and said you hate my Daughter."

He seriously said that?!

"And you must be the person who was able to make my ex-Wife fall in love again? Don't you get mad that I was the first to take her virginity away?"

I looked up and smiled. "It's fine. You divorced her. Your loss. My gain." I smirked. He was so easy to psycho.

He put Sabrina down and faced me.

I stood, and we both looked eye to eye.

"Your a girl. What could you possibly do to me?" He said with a sign of envy.

"First of all, I'm taller than you. Secondly, I'm rich and have a job. Thirdly, I’ve known them for only a couple of months, and here I am her fiancée and a better father figure than you’d ever be to Sabrina. Lastly, dude, I can pleasure her better than you." I smirked.

He clearly was getting angry. His fist clenched tightly.

I poked his chest. "Don't think for a second I'm afraid of you." I poked him again. "I'm not a pussy who will be scared and hide in the corner just because you said fuck things at me." Again, I poked him but this time harder. "Stay the fuck away from me, Sophia and Sabrina before I punch your ugly face." I watched him move back. "Go before I throw you outside like you did to Sophia and Sabrina."

He looked at me with rage. "You don't know what you’re dealing with, woman." He said.

"You don't know what I'm capable of doing, little boy." I said and whistled for my bodyguards to drag him out. "Be civilised. It's a family restaurant after all."

They nodded and grabbed Brian by the armpits.

"Let them show you how we deal with... People like you." I smiled.

Sabrina ran to me and hugged my legs. "I love you! Daddy bad. Daddy hit Mommy one night."

I know, honey. I looked at Sophia who remained seated. I got back to my seat and shook her. "You okay?"

She nodded.

"Don't worry. He won't be bothering you two ever again." I’d make sure of it...
