I'm Your Voice

Best Friends Forever

Nanmaya’s POV

I ran to our music room dancing like a crazy idiot. I halted my craziness, hearing his happy whistled tune. He learned onto the door with the crossed leg. I hugged him immediately but as usual, he pushed me sighing in relief but I pulled him inside, ignoring his expressions. He was behaving normally as if nothing big thing happened but that dazzling smile was not leaving his lips.

"Wow, that was a hilarious performance, Cutie Pie. I just can't explain how happy I am. This performance was the best of all right?" I beamed at him.

He stared blankly with that dazzling smile, blinking in assurance, and sat on the sofa. But I can't stay calm so again danced like a mad girl. He shook his head in disappointment with that dazzling smile.

"I know I'm crazy but see how the audience cheered us for ‘once more’," I exclaimed sitting to his right side.

He was thinking deeply with a constant smile playing on his lips. I tugged his shirt to grab his attention, he turned to me smiling and squeezed my right palm with his left and whistle tuned, ‘relax,’ with that never-ending smile.

"We still have a long way to go and these are just beginning milestones, so stop your craziness,” he signed with a sincere look.

I giggled pulling his cheeks. He winced like a kid swatting my hands with cute faces making me smile.

‘Aww, my Cutie Pie, always ready to kill me with his cuteness.

"I knew it my dear Symphony but this is not a small thing, right? For the first time, we performed in front of a huge audience than ever. And the way they enjoyed your music and my voice was the biggest achievement,” I said reminiscing those cheerful memories. “So, can't I be happy with this tiny-winy popularity we are getting?" I feigned hurt.

He signed with a warning gaze, "You can, but I know you very well. So, warning you to be on land but not on Mount Everest,"

Narrowing my eyes, I twisted my lips turning the other side. Why does he have to spoil the moment? I know it but can’t he enjoy the success?

I heard Dad and Uncle’s laugh, we both turned to the source. Our parents were standing at the entrance of our music room. A proud smile lingered on their lips with an adoring look.

"You just leave him and enjoy your achievement Nanmu," Uncle said giving me a bear hug.

Mom, Dad hugged him congratulating us and Aunt joined with the sweet box.

"Come on, have sweets," Aunt gave the barfis box.

We both pounced to get more barfis than each other. Our parents laughed at our craziness. He pulled the sweet box from Aunt and ran away holding it up above where I can’t reach. I chased him but my tall tree was not at all gave me a chance.

I groaned in frustration and stopped as I can't run anymore. We continuously practiced for the last two days, I don’t have the energy to chase him but just want to hug my fluffy bed.

"Eat all the sweets, I don't want any," I exclaimed sadly feigning hurt with crossed arms.

He came to me laughing and placed the sweet in front of my lips. I turned to another side, narrowing my eyes and twisting my lips.

‘Sorry,’ he whistled tune with cute faces and gestured me to have it.

My heart raced to the next level looking at his tantalizing eyes, topping his cuteness. So, I gave up taking the sweet smiling widely and placed it in front of his lips. He bent down a little and ate half of the sweet feeding me the remaining.

Sharing everything with your best friend cum first love is bliss. Smiling I took the sweet box and placed it on the table. He narrowed his eyes in annoyance, I smiled taking his palm.

"Thank you so much for your melodious music Mahi which can make me sing with heart,” I said with love.

He shook his head in disappointment rolling his eyes pulling his palm.

"Your voice can create wonders and I'm sure you will become the best singer in the world then don't forget your this dumb friend," he signed with adoration and the last line with a teasing look, hiking my anger.
