Chapter Five

Sofia was about to approach Emma when the bell rang.

"You can talk to her later." Emily held her shoulder

"But I want to talk to her." Sofia's eyes are still glued at Emma who is now walking away from them

"You're hopeless." Jessica mumbled

"I can't disagree with that." Madison added

"You're seat mates, Sofia." Ruby tapped Sofia's bangs "Can we get going now?"

Sofia didn't hear what her friends said, she is still day dreaming about the brunette girl.

"Can we just drag her to our class?" Madison suggested impatiently

"I wish we can but her injury won't help us." Emily sighed and flicked Sofia's forehead "Wake up, Fryxell!"

Sofia glared at her while rubbing her forehead "Why do you have to do that?"

"Because you were like this." Jessica copied Sofia's face while staring at Emma

"You look stupid." Sofia laughed

This is what Sofia needs; her friends that makes her laugh.

"And you looked stupid too." Jessica stuck her tongue out

They proceeded to their first class while the two continued to bicker at each other. They really can't last a day without bickering.

"You're late after being excused for weeks. Welcome back, Ms. Fryxell." Their teacher first said when they entered the homeroom

"Sorry Miss. but my crutches are not helping me to walk faster." She said teasingly to mock her teacher "And thank you for your warm welcome."

She saw the glimpse of Emma looking at her. She smiled at her but the latter glared at her.

"You better behave because your girl didn't like what you just did." Emily whispered to her

Madison accompanied to walk Sofia to her seat "You okay now?" She asked while taking Sofia's crutches from her

"Yeah, thank you, Mads. Go to your seat now, Ms. Smith is not in the mood."

Madison just giggled and left Sofia to go to her seat next to Emily.

When she looked to her left side, the kitten is looking at her making her heart to beat faster than the usual.

"H-hey." Sofia stuttered

Emma didn't greet her back; she turned her attention back to their teacher.

"Your Emma is rude, Irene." She thought

Then Sofia realized something, why is she acting gaga over a girl that just exists in Irene's memories? She questioned the slow-mo and the heart fluttering she experienced when she saw Emma. It is because of Irene's memories or it's just her own self?

Sofia groaned and pressed her forehead against her desk.

"I want to go home." She mumbled

"Ms. Fryxell, would you like to answer this problem on the board?" Ms. Smith called her attention

Sofia looked up and observed the equation "Sorry, Ms. Smith but I can't answer that on the board but the answer is 3x+6x^2-x or you can right x as 1 because x is equivalent to 1."

Her classmates was amaze at how she is good in math, well not just math but also in other subjects except arts that she will love from now on.

"That's correct. I'm glad that the accident didn't affect your brain." Her teacher teased her

Sofia and Ms. Smith are good friends that is why they sometimes can't stop teasing each other. Sofia met her in a coffee shop before she learned that Smith will be their new teacher.

"You can't have smart student other than me." Sofia smirked

Ms. Smith just shrugged her shoulder because she knew that Sofia is right, she's the smartest student in their school.

Sofia glanced at her seat mate who is still listening to Ms. Smith.

"How can I get her attention?"

She has no choice but to listen to Ms. Smith, for a moment she forgot about their family drama but not about Emma.

"Is there a hospital near here?" Ruby asked while they are walking to the cafeteria

"Why? Do you feel off? Are you sick?" Jessica put her palm to Ruby's forehead

"I'm not, I just want half if Sofia's brain you think they can switch half of our brains?"

Sofia and her friends groaned in disbelief. Ruby's mind is unpredictable sometimes, well always.

They reached the cafeteria, Jessica, Ruby and Madison volunteered to get their foods while Sofia and Emily will look for a vacant table.

Some of the popular groups claimed their table and none of the other students are not allowed to sit their but Sofia's group is different; they chose not to be like them; assholes and arrogant spoiled brats.

"Sofia, I thought you're still recovering? Why are you here?"

Sofia and Emily stopped from walking.

"The last time I check I'm not your fucking business anymore, Olivia."

"Sofia, I'm sorry, okay? Michael and I were sorry." Olivia tried to hold Sofia but Emily stopped her

The cheating incident spread like a wild fire in their campus, they still don't know who told who.

The students around them including a certain brunette are watching them.

"I don't care if you're sorry. I don't care about you and I don't care about Michael. You can fuck him, scream his name and make him cum because I guessed you're done with fingers and pussies."

Sofia's harshness made Olivia cried. She slapped Sofia's face "That's too much." She then stormed out from the cafeteria

Sofia just sighed and proceeded to look for a table like nothing happened.

"Sofia, you humiliated her in front of everyone." Emily said

"I wasn't my fault that they are watching." Sofia found an empty table

They took their seat and waited for their friends. Sofia knows that Emma was watching the scene earlier but she can't stop her outburst.

"She saw it, right?"

Emily stole a look first from Emma who is eating her lunch alone before answering "Yeah and you pissed your girl off again."

Their friends came and just like what they've expecting, they already knew about what happened.

Sofia only has four subjects with Emma; Math, English, Chemistry and Arts. It's time for their art class now but she chose to ditch it again, though she's excited about seeing Emma; she needs fresh air to breathe.

She smiled when she saw her usual spot, the old music room. It's abandoned since they created a new bigger music room.

There is an old couch where is used to sleep on during the times she will ditch their art class, just like now.

She carefully sat on the old couch "I'm sure you're watching me right now, dad." She looked up "Your precious daughter just like what you used to call me is ditching her class again."

Tears started to trickle down from her eyes "I miss you, dad. I miss you so bad and it hurts like a bitch because I can't do anything about it."

The door suddenly swung open only to reveal a brunette that was looking for her.
