“No means... No… I want you to leave right now. I will go from here on my own. You go back home. Anyways, Amy is just right over there… I warn you, do not follow me or else…” Layla blackmailed him and then got down from the car.

Matt did not know what to do. He just wanted to make sure that she safely goes inside the home. If someone is sitting alone at this time of the hour, doesn’t that mean they wanted some alone time?

After looking at that huge pond next to the girl, he felt more stressed. And to top it off, after walking near Amy, Layla tried to sit on the ground. That’s it, he lost it.

He picked up his phone and dialed Julie’s phone number. When Layla asked for the phone number from Jason earlier, he also added the number to his contacts. He knows she would do something exactly like this after they came here.

Julie picked up the call after a long time. It looked like she must be busy with either the wedding preparation or with Mr. Victor. He paced back and forth while keeping an eye on his wife from a distance. At one point he wanted to rush towards them and bring her back. But he knows how upset his wife would be if he did that.

When he noticed Amy help her stand up once again properly, he let out his breathing that he was holding in for a long time. His patience was running out. Once he heard the call was picked up, he hurriedly said,

“Hello, Aunty. I am Matt. I am Layla’s husband. We are here. But can you please keep an eye on my wife? She went near the pond where Amy is! She asked me not to come and disturb them. Can you please go and check on her once? Also, please bring her inside the home. It had already turned dark. She would not listen to me if I say it.”

Helplessly Matt said to Julie. She smiled and said,

“Sure. I am going there right away.”

“Aunty, one more request. Can you please make sure she eats properly? I will message you a list of food that she loves to eat on your phone. Also, please take care of her and ensure that she goes to bed before ten o'clock. Please do not let her eat too much junk food...”

He kept on listing all his demands and Julie just nodded her head with a smile. After knowing how Matt was concerned about his wife, Julie got even more reassured that Jason would also be just like him. She could now be more confident in this marriage.

Once he finished giving all the instructions, he said,

“Aunty, is it okay if I request one more thing?”

“Yes, go ahead.” Julie gave her permission but thought that his one more request would have no end.

“Can please stay on the phone until she goes inside the house?” Matt asked.

“Sure”

Julie then looked at her husband and said, “I think I am going to meet a similar person just like you. He sure loves his wife blindly.”

Victor tried to smile amid the pain that was tearing his body apart. She informed the nurse to keep a close watch on him before walking out of the room.

"I will be back in a few minutes, Nurse Ava. Please keep a close eye on him. If anything please inform the maids to let me know. I will come back immediately. Also, do not leave his side at any time. If you have to go somewhere, then call someone and ask them to stay with him until you come back. I will inform Butler Eric to stand near the door, so it will be easier for you." Julie said.

"Stop frightening her... She knows what she should do... Just go..." Victor said and coughed vigorously.

"How many times should I tell you to not stress yourself? Why don't you listen to me?" Julie complained.

Victor lifted his hands slightly and signaled her to go. Julie looked at him once and turned to leave. Butler Eric was already standing near the door and nodded his head.

"Make sure you keep your eyes and ears open. I will try to rush back as soon as possible." Julie said.

"Do not worry, Madam I will stay here until you come back. Also, please take care of your health too..." Eric looked at her with concern.

From the time, he started to serve the family he had seen the happiness that had flowed in this family. No one had imagined that there would be a day when this family would lose its glory and cheerfulness. From the day, Victor suddenly fell ill and the whole family became lifeless. No one was happy and gloominess surrounded this house. He hoped that this marriage would bring the lost glow back into their lives.

Also one her way out, Julie informed the maids to prepare some healthy snacks for the guests. When she went outside, she noticed Layla hugging Amy. She walked hurriedly towards them. Suddenly she saw a figure near the gate who was pacing back and forth while looking at the pond with desperate eyes. She guessed that must be Matt.

With a smile, she nodded her head at him before she continued to walk towards them. When she saw Layla, Julie understood why he was so concerned about his wife. Once she made sure Layla and Amy were safe inside the house, she walked towards the gate.

“Why don’t you come in?” Julie asked.

“She would not allow me to… She wants to spend time outside without me interfering. I know I am overdoing it but I am really worried about them. She is still like a child and when I think that our child is growing inside her, it makes me nervous.”

“Do not be, I will take good care of your wife. I truly understand your concern. When I was expecting Amy, her father was just like you. But it’s okay to give her some space to breathe. We, mothers, get a hang of it sooner and we don’t need monitoring twenty-four by seven. We are not some critical patients who are in constant need of observation. Many women nowadays go out to work even a day before they go to deliver a baby. Just relax! Use this time to give yourself a break from your constant worrying and also give her some alone time.” Julie patted the young man’s shoulders.

“Alright,” Matt said and nodded his head.

But his eyes still looked at the house she went in with desperation. Julie’s smile widened. She remembered how Victor jumped in joy when she told him that she was pregnant. He was exactly like Matt and never left her alone for even a minute. Sometimes, he would even follow her inside the bathroom, saying that the floor might be slippery and she might need his support.

"Then I will go back to my home without Layla..." Matt mumbled and turned around.

She controlled her urge to invite him inside the house once again and said,

“I think how Amy needs Layla here, Jason might also need your help. Everyone gets nervous before their marriage, especially just a day before. I hope you will help him out and take care of him until tomorrow.”

Matt nodded his head and said, “Yes, Aunty. Then I will come back tomorrow with Jason here in the evening.”

Somehow with half a mind left here with Layla, he walked towards his car dejectedly. This would be their first time staying away from each other. From the time they got married, they had always stayed together, ate together, and slept together. He turned back several times before he reached the car. He even expected that Julie would call him once again to her home.

Then he could tell Layla that 'he could not reject the request of the lady of the house, so he came in'. But Julie did not do so. She waited patiently for him to leave, before going back to the house.

She was about to turn around when she noticed seven to eight cars coming towards her house in a row. She saw that the cars were fully loaded with several items. There were so many huge boxes kept inside each one of them.

The security guards immediately opened the gates widely to let all the cars in. Julie moved back a little bit and saw several young women and men getting out of the cars.

When they noticed Julie standing in one corner, one of the women came near her and introduced them.

“Hello Aunty, we are all Layla’s friends. She called us to help her with the wedding preparations. I hope we are not disturbing you. We will try to make as little noise as possible when we are around."

"That's fine, dear. Come on in. Layla had just arrived and she is waiting for you all." Julie said and took everyone inside.

When everyone entered the home, it finally felt like marriage is going to happen in this house tomorrow. The house became cheerful and all the maids and servants rushed outside to look at the loud uproar that was happening in the living area.

She rushed the maids to serve the refreshments to all the guests. When Layla said she would bring her friends to their home to help with the marriage preparations, Julie expected only a couple of them. But when almost twenty people got down the cars, she was left speechless.
