Chapter 5: The Escape

"Wouldn't it be better if you minded your P's and Q's mister," she said, staring at him.

"Hey miss, don't you have any manners?" asked the guard.

"Again, mind your own business, " she let out, moving forward to the gate.

"This is my business already. Where are you going in the middle of the night?" Furthermore, the guard blocked her way.

"Nathaniel, what's going on over there," Sir Walter asked, as he was on the second floor's balcony.

"Sir Walter, this lady insists to leave now, I'm only concerned about her welfare and the newborn she is carrying," the guard answered back.

"Nathaniel if she is insisting to go then let her go, we are going through so much currently, there are other things we need to look at," Sir Walter shouted, after the lady went out of the palace, he left and there he was moving towards the Queen's chamber.

His hands could no longer hold the sword which he had held for a long time, "It can't be, where is the tot?" Walter wondered, "It should be here." He sat on the bed where the Queen's body was laid in great shock. It crossed his mind that he should look for Angelia, she was the only one who could know what happened to the tot.

"Hey, you were with Miss Angelia earlier, do you know where she went?" Sir Walter asked one of the servants.

"No Sir, I haven't caught a glance of her since--

"Thank you," he said and moved quickly to the entrance gate. There, he saw one of the guards and shouted," Nathaniel."

"Oh my gosh! Chief, you frightened me, have we got any invaders?" he panicked and got his sword.

"No, who do you think would ever break into this palace?" Sir Walter asked even though he knew that someone had broken into the palace and took the newborn's body.

"No one ever, because we are always awake 24/7."

"Correct, now you tell me," Sir Walter let out, "The lady you were with earlier, did you recognize her or know her by chance."

"Know her. No. I don't know her. That would be some fantasy. She was so beautiful to ever know me," he said.

"I did not ask you all of that, can you get to the point."

"Aa, Angele, " he struggled to remember that lady's name, "Angelia was her name. Don't you think she should be nicknamed Lia or Angel?"

"Whatever you say, did you mention to me that this lady had a tot?

"A baby. Yes, she did have one; she was holding him," he said.

"The state of the baby; was it like sleeping."

"I can't forget the way that baby's sound was annoying, I met that lady because of that same sound in the first place. It was horrible."

"I understand, that is how babies are," Walter said.

"Sir, how are you able to relate to everything I say?" he asked, it was like Walter knew and understood every situation.

"Alright, I don't know what that feels like. Was she the only person who went out tonight?"

"She was the second; with this annoying 'tot' as you say."

He thought. "If she was the second then, who was the first?

Nathaniel flashed a smile. He said, "I will never forget the first one. I was surprised by what I saw. It never crossed my mind that I would see him that way."

"He. Who is this 'he' you are babbling about?" Sir Walter asked. He paid full attention to Nathaniel's words.

"Who could it be other than Martin K."

"'Martin K' like Martin Kindler, the doctor who has always been humble and blah blah to the king."

"Yup, that was him. He was dragging this wooden cart outside, which had some sacks, then I approached him and he told me that that was his new profession."

"Nathaniel, I appreciate the job you've been doing over here," Sir Walter said, raking his hands through his hair.

"Chief, does this call for a promotion?

"I'll consider it, you dreamer. Just keep dreaming," Sir Walter said before he left.

"Could the baby we think of as dead be alive? If he is the prince, then, why was he taken away? Why was he declared dead? What is going on in this kingdom?" Sir Walter murmured, speaking to himself.

"Darek, I'm amazed by the way things have been happening. First my brother died and then his wife and his newborn," Prince Edric said, holding two mugs of wine.

"Lord Edric, at first I thought that you were not meant to rule Lovaria, turns out I was wrong," Darek let out.

Handing over one of the mugs to Darek, Prince Edric said, " Darek, we have to enjoy ourselves for we have accomplished what I have always desired to accomplish; having the crown on my head."

"Hey, you scared me to death, Oh my, for how long have you been standing there?" Prince Edric asked.

"Edric, you finally did as you promised, tell me now. Is there a possibility of me being the queen of Lovaria?" asked this redhead lady who had just returned after a month.

"Before it was impossible, "Prince Edric said, moving near her, and held her hands. With great joy, he let out, " Catalina it is possible now, we will rule this kingdom at last."

To Edric's surprise, Catalina didn't rejoice; she just gazed at him; he knew that this was what they had desired for a long time.

"Edric, I have some news for you, I'm pregnant," Catalina said. Edric froze. Not a word came out of his mouth for a second.

"Great, I'm going to become a father, Catalina is this true.

She nodded her head in acceptance.
