Gran Matador #3

"I need the key," I told Peacock as soon as I caught sight of her.

She threw the key at me and I quickly caught it. She smirked, so did I.

"Where you going, Gran Matador?" Beetle asked— who showed up herself like a mushroom.

"Dracula's here," I simply replied.

"Take care," they said.

I proceeded to fetch Sandro. He was annoying with his complains so it was better to be early. I ran my car 50mph as soon as I got into the lane.

It took half an hour to finally reach Sandro's place. I hopped out of my car and Sandro's dog's smile welcomed me. He spread his arms wide to hug me but I just rolled my eyes in irk.

"Is that how you welcome your guest, Gran Matador?" He scoffed.

"You want me to fire you bullets instead?" I scoffed, cocking my right brow at him.

He looked at me from head to toe, gaping like an idiot.

"I couldn't recognize you only if I don't know your shape," he commented. "You look so different."

"How much?" I asked tiredly.

He chuckled annoyingly. "I don't need your digits, Berreta. You need me, remember?"

"Right," I replied lazily. "Get in my car before something horrible will happen to you."

He chuckled only. I rolled my eyes at him and went back to my car. I felt him following me.

"So? What's your trip and game?" Sandro asked as we fastened our seatbelts.

"You know Amon Condez?" I asked.

"Prolly no if he's not a part of the gang."

"You're still stupid," I hissed and started my engine.

"Wow! Did you call me here only to insult me?" He said in sarcasm.

"Amon Condez is the governor here in Bohol, you silly. He's my next target." I faked a smile at him.

"Oh," his lips formed O. "Interesting, Gran Matador. When we'll you ever get tired of shows?"

"Unless it's boring, Dracula." I smirked at him.

We drove away already. I took him in my place. I got something for him. Since he was no longer useful to my twin siblings, better yet to serve me.

"Anyway, Magnum and Zenuine plan to fly to Maldives for their honeymoon. You know that?" Sandro suddenly asked between our drive. We just reached Baclayon.

"Is that still my business?" I asked back, scoffing him.

"I just thought you need to know about it. You were always updated about Magnum before," he explained.

"Because he's distracted, Dracula. I told you. Love is a waste of time. It only manipulates your mind."

"But it's a good feeling you know. How sweet it is to love and be loved," he said.

"Have you ever been loved back?" I glanced at him.

"N-Never," he replied sadly. "But it's okay. Who knows you are meant to love me?"

I laughed loudly at his statement. He creased his forehead in confusion.

"Dear, you're not even my level," I taunted. "And you're not my type."

"Ouch," he feigned a hurt, squeezing his chest. "Why are you like this, Berreta?"

"Like what?"

"You're frank!"

"Truth hurts, doesn't it?" I smiled evilly.

When we arrived at my house, I gathered my team together. I needed to plan ahead even if we will not prosper it immediately. Just in case there will be new information, it will only add flavors to our menus.

"You want me to act as your husband?" Sandro mouthed. "But how?"

"It wouldn't be suspicious if I will introduce myself as a married woman, Dracula. In that case, they won't think I have plans against them. Or I have interest with their son," I explained.

"But how sure are you that they won't mistrust you?" He asked quickly.

"I am Berreta Madrigal, Alexander Montgomery. I've been doing this for years," I bragged.

"I know but this is different, Berreta. These people you're messing with are powerful!"

"Will you stay quite rather than exposing the injustice of society?" I challenged him. "Reputation may be crucial but innocent people shall be spared from the greed of authority. Don't they deserve to know the truth?"

He failed to answer my question. I took a deep breath and turned to my team.

"I need you to make a research about this Condez family," I told them. "Each of you will have one member who has position in government."

"Yes, Gran Matador," they answered in chorus.

I shifted my eyes to Sandro. "And you, Dracula. Prepare yourself for tomorrow. We will meet Greg Del Fierro again to negotiate with him."

His jaw tightened. He eventually nodded as a response, eyes were sharp at me.

"What if the Condez will find this out?" He asked.

"Is that even a problem?"

"Of course, Berreta! They will kill you or rot you in jail!"

"That's favorable, Dear." I smiled sweetly at him.

He shook his head in dismay. "You're the worst, Berreta."

I chuckled. "I am, Dracula."

After the meeting, I went to the operating room. It was where all the connections can be traced. All the activities can be viewed. I watched all the video footages on the monitors. I checked the Camp Madrigal. My mother was busy playing Titus while Dad was training Colt.

I took a deep breath. I fished out my phone and opened my gallery. I pressed the "Caelan Aziel" album and the pictures of a baby boy displayed on my screen.

It still hurt me even if it has been three years now. Arila killed my baby. No one knew about this but I guessed mother did already. I didn't know how but just like me, she has wide connections with people.

A seed of tear slid down on my cheeks. I quickly wiped it off.

Don't worry, baby. Justice has been served. Your Dad sought the justice you deserved.

I smiled bitterly. I sniffed and breathed in. I pressed the phone home and switched it off.

The following day, Sandro and I met Greg Del Fierro. He agreed to my plans unlike Sandro.

"But if your target is Abbadon and you will befriend him, he will think you're cheating on your husband," Greg commented.

"Exactly," I replied. "But what love can't do to a desperate lover, Greg? I'll make sure he will fall in love with me harder while I was slowly poisoning his whole existence."

"How will you make him fall for you when you don't even know what love is?" Sandro asked, as if insulting me.

I smiled sweetly at him. "I was once a lover, Dracula. It just didn't work out."

Sandro flickered his eyes on Greg and back to me again. He looked confused.

"With whom? Nobody knows it?"

"Why should everyone know about it?" I asked back.

Magnum knew something about this. But I was not sure what exactly he knew about me. He once teased me that a cheater was once got cheated.

Sandro failed to answer me. I lit my cigarette and puffed it.

"So? What do you think, Greg?" I asked Mr. Del Fierro. "I know I am not good with loving people but I am so much better in making them obssessed with me." I bragged.

"Seducing?" Sandro asked but it sounded more like a statement.

"On point, Dracula." I faked a sweet smile. I turned to Greg again. "I can't wait anymore. Can we start tomorrow?"

"Sure, Lucia. Just tell me your plans so I can prepare myself and make sure there will be no problem along the process."

"Thank you, Mr. Del Fierro. I am counting on you," I responded.

I puffed my cigarette again and held the filter between my index and middle finger. I flickered my eyes to Sandro whose eyes were sharp. I smiled at him and puffed my cigarette again.
