Ryle opens the door for her parents with a huge grin, she’s thanking the stars that the house has been cleaned up already if not, she won’t be able to keep her head tonight.

Mom!

She exclaims as her mom walks in, she is a carbon copy of Ryle, her brown eyes and auburn hair is in complete copy to what Ryle looks like. Mrs. Rebecca walks in slowly and stares at the house with her nose up in scrutiny.

The house looks awfully clean today. She states blankly, turning back to Ryle who is known to always break the rules of the house.

Really? I didn’t realize that. Ryle tries to hide to fear in her voice.

Where is Jennifer? Her mom asks as she walks over to the kitchen leisurely before she opens up the fridge.

Where is all the food? She asks as she bends down searching the cupboard for anything to eat tonight.

We had large dinner and breakfast, so…Ryle cooks up immediately.

“Oh, really.” Regal too? Rebecca asks.

“Regal, especially mom.” Ryle answers.

While they are still speaking, Steven, their dad walks in and shuts the door behind.

“Honey, I’m starving.” He says as he pecks Ryle.

Where’s your sister? He asks.

“Oh, she has a huge math bowl on Monday, she stayed up reading all through today, and she finally got some sleep.” Ryle cooks up another one.

“Well, that sounds like Regal.” He says patting his daughter’s shoulder. You should be studying too.

“Honey, there is nothing in the fridge.” Seems the girls had a huge appetite. Rebecca says as she closes the fridge.

What! Nothing? Steven says with great concern. Told you we should have grabbed something out.

We have to visit the groceries, ASAP! Rebecca says as she grabs her purse back and tugs her husband and they head out through the door.

Ryle finally lets her heart drop as the tension decreases; she peeps through the window and waits to see if they are finally gone. When she sees them zoom off, she finally eases down her nerves.

She almost decides to go up to them, but she doesn’t have the courage to do so. Hence, she messages Regal immediately.

Regal is at the edge of her room door, the room light is out and she’s waiting to hear any form of footstep approaching, but she doesn’t get one. She gets a beep from her phone and she checks it instantly, it is a message from Ryle.

She exhales when she reads the message, she turns instantly to tell Hector that he’s able to go now, but she bumps at his chest and she hits the door behind her.

Hey, are you okay? He asks immediately.

Yea, Regal is slightly embarrassed. She can’t see his face clearly but she knows his presence very well.

There is silence that wasn’t prepared for and they are comfortable in it while it lasts. She doesn’t know if she’s the only one whose face is moving closer to his, but Regal doesn’t stop what her heart is doing anyway. She can sense him breathing; she can sense his heart beating.

It made slow movements, unlike hers.

Her own chest was beating erratically and she was hoping he didn’t sense it.

Regal feels his hand on her hands and he’s touching her thumb, the feeling of his hands against hers is warm and calm, just like she remembers. It’s amazing.

Slowly, she can feel his lips claim hers, she can feel his tender flesh touch hers in the cool darkness and she melts at his touch while moving her lips. Hector kisses the one he has been in love with slowly and tenderly, he is mesmerized by her voice, personality, everything that comes with her.

He didn’t realize he would lose himself to her this way, but it’s happening still and he isn’t regretting it.

The feeling of her plump lips against his fills him with goose bumps that make him deepen the hot kiss that leaves his heart beating erratically against hers. Their chests are closing up to each other, but they are both lost in an affectionate display that everything seems fated and sated.

They realize each other like a perfect timing and she remembers that her parent could still come back home anytime soon.

Her voice sounds defeated, like she just tasted a spoon of her own medicine.

My parents…

Regal can barely finish when she feels his huge hands pull her waist closer and draws her in for a second kiss. His lip caresses her smaller ones and she places one hand on his waist as he seals it, again.

“I’ll take the window.” Hector says as he releases her slowly like he doesn’t want to let go of her.

Regal is still lost in the feeling of his lips that she sees him pushing the drapes open, but doesn’t even realize that he’s leaving through the window. Her heart is still beating, Regal has confirmed what she truly feels for him today, and she knows that it’s love.

“Of course, it’s love.” It’s been bugging her ever since Hector returned from college. And now that her feelings have been unlocked, she will not let go of it. If she has to battle her parents for it, she wouldn’t have a problem going against them.

She walks closer to the window where he gets from and he’s waiting for her, his hands are in the air and he’s waving it to her. In return, she waves her hand back to him and his smile lights her heart up.

Regal watches him exit into his home and she is full of joy. Huston Wiles who she has loved behind closed doors all her life just kissed her in the dark, and she is being caught in the feeling of his lips, his hands that held her waist, and his enveloping presence in the dark.

Who exactly where you in the dark, Hector Wiles?
