Ryle opens the door for more of her wild friends as they exchange mutual glances in the house her parents forbid her from ever having acquaintances when they were not present. She is putting on a jean shorts and a white crop top as she drops the squares of brownies on the table where her mutual friends are having a hectic conversation.

There are about six boys and five girls in the house; the music is still low because they aren’t on the agenda of tonight yet. But they are getting there. Meanwhile, Ryle’s friend, Ginger is spiking some drink with alcohol and she can’t stop giggling as she uses her hand to stir the liquid.

Don’t tell me you are tipsy already? Ryle says as she picks up her phone from the kitchen counter.

“Of course not.” The night is still young, and did you see, Mason just walked in. Ginger says as she puts a hand on Ryle’s shoulder.

“Yeah, I opened the door for him.” Ryle rolls her eyes at Ginger’s obvious question.

Who invited him though? She asks.

“Probably Hampton and the rest, you guys should talk.” Ginger says playfully.

No, Ginger. I definitely do not have to talk to every cute guy that goes to our school.

“Mason is the C in cute, Ryle.” Do you know how many girls hope they get to hook up with him first? Ginger says as she stares back at the remaining group behind, reducing her voice.

“Then, why don’t you go for it? Ryle asks as she watches her sister runs down stairs.

Ryle is surprised to see Regal in a dress, it isn’t her taste but Regal is in a dress that stops above her knees and it has a space in the neckline. So, yea, still a surprise.

And where are you off too? Ryle asks, turning away from brown hair Ginger.

Tell me, how do I look? Regal asks as she stares at her dim reflection in the microwave.

“You look like Gabrielle from High school Musical. “Ginger answers first.

Really? Regal says in glee.

“NO, more like Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz.” Ryle cuts the compliment.

So, where are you off to? YOU never go out on Saturday night or any night. Regal says folding her hands.

“Well, Hector invited me for movie, we are watching Van Helsing. Regal says as she plays with her fingers.

For a moment, Ryle is shocked to hear that her innocent sister is having a date with Hector, at his home, just them, together, and she is pulled back to reality when she realizes that she’s has been absent for too long in the conversation.

“Oh, so you dressed up? Ryle fuels.

Regal blushes a little behind her cup of lemon water, I always look like this. She says before placing the cup back and Ryle sees her eyes go astray.

Ryle turns to see Benson Mason walking forward with something in his hands and she is a little surprised.

Hi. He says, his voice is normal, but tranquility attached to it.

Yeah, what’s up? Ryle answers.

Regal assumes back to her lemon water and is almost leaving the scene before she hears her name. She turns back instantly, very curious.

Hi. Mason says and even Ryle faces Regal to cognize where exactly she met him from.

You know me? Regal says walking forward.

“I’ve seen you at the public library a couple of times…I’ve also unintentionally heard your name a couple of times. Mason says.

Ryle nods in appreciation, nice to meet you too…

It’s Mason. He answers.

Mason, she nods again.

“If you will excuse me Mason, I have somewhere I need to be. Take care, she says smiling and already leaving.

“It’s a shame that you’re not going to be here with us, we’ve planned out some games already.” Mason tries to convince her.

“I’m sorry, I can’t afford to miss.” Regal says with another charming smile and heads out the door into the coming evening.

Ryle on the other hand is just stunned; she just watched a conversation between her sister and the Mason that is supposedly the charming talk of school now, and they just had a conversation where he pleads for her to join in—in her own house?

She breaths in coolly as if she didn’t see it coming and joins in with the rest at the sitting room, not before taking in the remaining brownies.

Regal, then again, has already arrived in Hector’s house and is walking around the newly made renovations of Huston’s home, it has been two years since she last walked into this place, but she can still remember some places. They played in these staircases and halls a lot of times, and the memories makes Regal smile because she has missed her friend.

There you are. Hector says and smiles; she follows him into the sitting room where there is a large HD TV, set of 3D glasses and multiple pillows, blankets in the almost dark room.

You made that brownie? He asks.

Yeah, why? Regal smiles as she tucks the pillows in.

It’s not that good, Huston chuckles as he says. But, I’ll still collect a recipe if you don’t mind.

Really! Regal says, and she can’t withhold the emergent laughter.

Hus, have you made brownies before? She asks.

“I mean…I can try.” Huston replies as he focuses on her.

What do you know about baking? Regal stops what she’s found and focuses on him too, she can’t wait to hear what he has to say especially when she know that Huston has no idea about baking.

“It’s quite simple.” He starts as he turns his back and Regal can’t wait for him to fall in defeat. And as she follows him, she doesn’t see the pillow that is left on the floor.

She trips with a low yell, and Huston catches her, his hands hug her waist in an attempt to support her from falling. And in doing that, the flowery gown is lifted above her laps, but instead he is caught in her spark of her eyes.
