The Fragile Flower Bloomed

The moment I stepped foot in their room, I asked Uncle whether the reason they summoned me was I pointed out their similarities.

Duke Le Merck, you became like a cat who cannot urinate when I stated the fact that crimson eyes are a trait exclusive to the Le Merck family.

He praised me for being sharp and requested if I could convince Miuerella in cooperating with the paternity test.

Seriously, people in the higher part of the pyramid lived comfortably! They passed their important jobs to other people, even persuading their daughter on me.

Of course, I didn’t have a choice or else I won’t get any points. I went back to the roofed deck to check whether the future couple was still alive—what I meant was breathing.

Reyner’s gone. Maybe it had to do with the devilish Duke’s affairs since James also mentioned his name.

Her dazzling aura caused by the power of love almost killed me.

I called her name only to bomb with her future wedding plans, ideal number of kids, gender reveal party plans, the names of their children, and other couple related items which sounded like an obsolete ancient language!

“Have you eaten it?” I asked.

“Oh, I totally forgot that I didn’t.

Slapping the reality right on their face was a great way to save your friend from drowning in their own fantasies.

“What took you so long in the bathroom?”

My dear friend, we belong in the same species; you know girls do in the bathroom.

I fed her a spoonful of her strawberry pudding she ignored because who knows if she was busy in her dream world earlier?

“Forget about the bathroom, listen carefully because the next words you’ll hear would have a tremendous impact in your life.

I expected words such as “what” or “are you sure” brought by confusion and doubt. Amid foggy situations, there was an answer called the power of friendship.

“What if I’m just a worthless crystal having a resemblance with a diamond when you look from afar?” she asked.

“What if you’re the genuine one but mined illegally because you are an enormous fortune?

Honestly, I see myself in her shoes if the road of possibilities led to a dark forest. What if there was a monster, beasts, or ghosts?

Am I pushy because of my knowledge about this world? If it were me, what would I want?

“Whatever this event may bring, I’m still your best friend, who’ll join your journey.

I guess getting used to her hugs was a must.

Hmm... I wondered where I could find a constant person like me?

Hours after the persuasion, we had to pack things because the paternity test would take place in the Capital. It’s time for us to go home now that Luna’s achieved their goal.

I haven’t said goodbye to the Crown Prince since they had some business to attend.

A month had passed, Count Viscar’s illegal activities, her illegitimate daughter who was actually the long-lost daughter of Duke Le Merck became the talk of the town—the empire, rather.

“Nora, you know the drill.”

I handed out a sealed letter as part of my correspondence with Ella. She talked about life in the duchy and her desire to visit. I guess, even though their existence was fictional, they had a share of hurdles.

Also, I had to mention her father, who gifted 2 stores in the capital, a vast farmland in his district, and a chest box full of jewels.

When Nora came back, she put the tray, served the chocolate pudding, and put the pile of letters on the coffee table beside it.

“Nora, give me the most important letters, others would end in the incinerator.”

A purple envelope with the seal of the golden Griffin became the last envelope standing on my table. Opening it revealed a lavender colored paper strip. What should I do with this?

“My Lady, dissolve the strip in water and you’ll be able to know the message,” Nora said.

I haven’t read this in the two volumes of the novel, so I followed her instruction. She also added that only the recipient could make the paper melt.

Nora was right—the holographic video message from the emperor informing about the upcoming celebratory banquet sprung.

Seconds later, a butler knocked on my door informing Ella waited our guest room.

“Ella, if you told me about your visit in advance, I would have prepared earlier.

“Beth!

Is she a human or a dog who waited for its owner and rushed the moment he saw it? I almost tripped because of her!

“Geez! I thought Mrs. Dickens was doing a good job of teaching etiquette.”

“Don’t blame her! Ever since I became a Le Merck, we haven’t met again!

She gained weight, her goddess like beauty shone since people around provided things this flower needed to bloom. The scars in her body healed, her rough skin became smooth as silk, but I hope the hidden scars deep within her heart would disappear as well.

After all, I rooted for her even before I came to this world.

“Have you received an invitation from Imperial Palace?”

“Great! Let’s buy our dresses and explore the Uska Market!

Uska Market is the biggest market in Epria, the Empire’s capital.

The Marchioness clapped her hands when she heard her youngest would buy dresses to the point of providing a money sack filled with diamonds. I would miss wealth once this game was over.

“My Dear, you’re my daughter so your preferences wouldn’t disappoint.

I let out a nervous smile and kissed her on cheeks before I bid goodbye.

Butterflies swarmed in blush pink, blue and violet hydrangeas, the warmth of sun’s rays penetrated on my skin, flocks of birds flying in the sky… There’s no doubt that the blooming season is here.

I was about to step my foot inside the carriage when a familiar voice echoed in my head.

“My Lady, How’s it going?

It’s also been a month since I heard his fruity voice.
