Chapter 2

Meilin pov

As we walk to the throne room I can only ogle the art and carvings on the walls. Hong seems to be doing the same, as many are, but some are obviously looking at what they think will soon be theirs. I simply look because at this moment I can and when I am sent home I won't be able to see such beautiful things again. Then again there are many beautiful things back home like the sun setting behind the barn or moms hand woven tapestry hanging on the walls.

It didn't take long for us to reach the throne room and when we entered we were in the presence of non-other than the emperor himself looking at all the women sent for his son.

Emperor's pov

The first girl that caught his attention was not one of the stunningly beautiful girls in the front but a plain girl in the back who looked more like a handmaid than a bride for his son, but there was something beautiful and kind about her aura that drew him to look at her.

Unknown to the emperor the girl he was looking at was not a girl at all, but a boy in disguise.

Prince's pov

The prince sat in his room looking out to all the women getting out of there carriages. Some of them were extremely beautiful but that was nothing new for him. He actually found it rather distasteful the amount of skin some of them were showing, but non the less he continued to watch the women be helped out of there carriages one by one looking for anyone who mite catch his eye.

"Sir, we need to start heading down soon or your father will begin to fret." Sin new it was Cheung before even looking the motherly tone in his voices gave him away.

"Yes, yes I am aware but there are only a few carriages left. I would like to see the last of the women to step out." Sin glanced at his attendant and old friend to see him frown, then sigh rolling his eyes at the boy in front of him.

"Fine but I do not see the point."

"No point just something I would like to do" Sin then saw something he had not seen all day. One of the women was thanking the servant who helped her out of the carriage. She was rather plain but in a strange way beautiful. The prince watched the plain but beautiful women walk all the way to the castle doors and made his decision right there that she would be his wife.

Unknown by Melien he had caught the eyes of the two strongest people in the country and the simple life he know and loved was about to be obliterated into a thousand pieces. "Welcome to my castle I hope one of you hear today will make my son very happy." The emperor's voice boomed across the room reaching everyone's ears. "Today more than half of you will be sent home to the people you love and will continue as if this never happened. The few who still remain will stay in the castle to prove themselves worthy of my son and at the end of this month one will remain to serve the people of this country by my son's side as his wife and this country empress." The emperor gesture to the right of him ware two big doors behind the throne opened to revel the prince walking in greeting his father with a bow.
