For my Family's honor

(This story starts after Mulan has ran off to the war and Meilin is known on his way to the capital to pretend to be Mulan in the companion for the prince's heart)

How did it come to this? Just last week I was tending to the garden with my dear sister Mulan but know I am riding half way across the country to be a potential wife of the emperor's son the only problem is I'm a boy named Meilin and not Mulan not that anyone, but I will know that. If only I was not so weak and scrawny perhaps then my sister would not have felt the need to take my place in the war. If only father had not decided I had to take her place as a potential wife as it would be quite subspecies if she did not show up. I of cores am not trying to win the right to be the emperor's wife I just need to show up not make a fool of myself if I can and stay in the background. Which I will do when we finally get there I feel as if I have been sitting in this carriage for days with no stop. As if the guards outside could read Meilins mined they spoke to tell Meilin that they would be arriving momentarily. This of cores prompted Meilin to look outside the carriage and what he saw took his breath away. Beyond all the houses stood the palace of the emperor as tall as the sky and as brilliant as the sun. As he looked at the view he notes other carriages making their way to the palace no doubt other potential wife's. As the carriage got closer to the palace Meilin could see the other potential wife's getting out of there carriages at the front gate and he had to admit they were all stunning, dressed in the most beautiful dresses he had ever seen. One girl was dressed in a dark purple dress with gold trim and a cut so deep in the front there was little left to the imagination. Other girls were in blue and yellow and every color you could imagine there was at least a hundred different girls which put Meilins mind at rest since he wore nothing special and the prince was never going to look his way with so many beautiful women around for him to pick from. As his carriage pulled up to the front gate Meilin hesitantly got out with the help of a man in a suite who was helping all the girls out of there carriages. Meilin had been watching the other girls being helped out and had noted that none of them had given the man any word of thanks so Meilin being the nice boy he was spoke to the nice man with a slight bow " Thank you so much i probably would have tripe on my way out without your help" when Meilin straightened from the bow he gave the man a bright smile.

Shocked the man spoke "Th-Thank you for your kind words" as he smiled ever so slightly back at him. With that Meilin headed inside to join the group of girls waiting for the prince to arrive. The inside of the palace was amazing with what looked to be gold covering the walls in detailed designs and pillars stood taller than the trees outside. The girls were all gathered in what looked to be some sort of ball room most of the girl had split into their own groups. The groups were not too hard to distinguish there were the girls who obviously had someone back home and wanted nothing to do with what was happening here, the girls hoping to snag a rich husband even if it was not the prince, the girls who were there just because their parents made them come, and the over confident sure they're going to win mean girls. I will admit the mean girls were all vary pretty but they would make the worst kind of empress. I just hope the prince chooses a girl who will be fare and nice. Someone who can be a mother to the people and take care of the empire. I am not sure what category I fit into I guess the weird girl with plane close and the air of a commoner. The mean girls seemed to notice my difference from everyone else so like vulchers they descended upon me.

"Excuse me but the staff are supposed to stay at the walls unless we need you." Said a girl with beautiful blond hair and a white dress that made her look like a goddess but the smirk on her lips made her beauty wilt in my eyes.

"I'm sorry for the confusion but I am here as a possible bride for the emperor's son same as you." Which I said with the best smile I could muster.

She looked appalled by what I said but then she smiled and said, "well at least I know your no competition for me but really no one hear is I'm sure to win, right girls?" And like good little worker bees they all agreed with their queen.

"Yay if he likes mean self-centered bitches." Said a voice coming from behind the mean girls. The mean girls all turn to see a girl with fire red hair and a dress to match standing with her hands on her hips and a huge smile on her face. " Chunhua why don't you leave this girl alone or is being a bully engraved into you're vary existence?" Chunhua as I know new her name to be looked enraged and spoke one last time before storming off worker bees in tow.

"Hong your just jealous I'm going to win so your acting like your better than me."

"Yay sure whatever you say." Hong said waving goodbye to Chunhua as she stormed off then she termed to me and asked, "so what's your name if you hadn't heard from miss bitch my name is Hong"

"Thanks, but you really didn't need to do that I find peaceful resolutions are the best, so no one gets hurt fiscally or mentally and my name in Meilin." Hong looked at me for a second before saying.

"Wow you are one nice kid if I were you I would have punched her but I'm not so nice I'm the first to tell you I've got a really short fuse but hey if you don't have a problem with that why don't we stick together?" She tossed her hare a little bit and looked around before saying "Looks like the show is about to start we might want to join the masses as not to seam rude to the emperor's son and all." So, as she started to walk towards the big group of girls looking at a guy ahead I followed suit and we settled in the back to watch and listen.

The man begins to talk "Welcome girls I am the right-hand man to the emperor's son Cheung and today you will be the first day of many you will spend in the palace and for one of you this is the first day of the rest of your life. Now let us head foreword to the throne room so you may all meat the man you are her for." With those words he began to walk towards what we all amused to be the throne room and walk next to Hong just hoping to get this all over with as soon as possible so I can head home to my family and leave this all behind.
