Desiring Her

Prologue

Jergen took a deep breath while facing the restroom mirror.

You're gonna be okay. You need this job but you will be picked up on the road, he talked to himself nervously but he tried to calm down.

She needed to calm down before her name was called for the interview. The president of Callahan Real Estate himself will be interviewing them so he needs to calm down.

She needed this job badly. He was evicted from his apartment this morning. His money is only in the thousands, not enough for his food tomorrow. He can't go home to the province because his parents are also poor and they only expect him. Then he hasn't sent them for three months because he lost his job.

It's because you're his boss, he's a secretary, not a sextary. The sickening thing is that his boss is still married and elderly.

So here he is now, and no company will accept him because his previous boss always gave him bad feedback.

They are in their twenties now applying for the position of secretary to the big boss of Callahan Real Estate. The salary is great and the company is well known in Asia. It was really nice to work there.

The question is, will he be accepted?

Why is he hoping that the outcome of this interview will be different? He was sure that he would call his old place of work and that he would definitely be busy in the next few days.

Cause of death: Starvation.

He left the restroom and returned to where he was sitting earlier. He took a deep breath when he called the girl he was following.

Shit! I'm next!

He tightened his grip on the envelope that contained his credentials.

Jergen's chest rumbled with fear when the woman came out and she looked like she was bleeding from her body. It was pale, like seeing a ghost.

"Ms. Jergen Carbonell Camince?" said the woman peeking through the open door.

He stood up quickly. "Yes ma'am?"

"You're next."

He nodded, then took another deep breath before stepping into the slightly ajar door.

"I can do it," he whispered to himself as he walked and followed the woman towards another door.

The woman stopped in front of a closed glass door. "Mr. Callahan is waiting for you inside."

She tried to smile but failed. "Thanks."

"Good luck."

He nodded, then entered the door the woman opened.

While walking closer to the table, he stared intently at the man sitting there who was also staring intently at him.

The guy was so smoking hot. Those deep brown eyes, his hairstyle, his kissable lips, his well-toned body, and his aura and sex appeal were oozing.

Goodness!

Jergen blinked. Nope! Not going there! Handsomeness doesn't make you full, it actually makes you hungry. And especially these types of men are not the type of women. So it should be no attraction. You have no destination.

He stopped in front of her desk, then smiled at her. "Good morning, Sir, I'm Jergen Carbonell Camince. I'm here for my interview."

He gestured with his hand to the visitor's chair. His eyes were still focused on her. "I'm Lysander Callahan, your future boss if you pass this interview." Then his eyes focused on her pink hair.

He smiled nervously. No one liked her hair. No one, especially inside the office. He won't be surprised if he looks at his hair later. Usual bosses had always disliked her taste in hair color.

The corners of his lips rose. "Let's start."

He nodded, nervously.

"I only have one question," the man began while still looking into her eyes. "And your answer will decide if you will be hired or not. I've read your credentials, and everything is good. High grades, a good university in the province where you're from. So... let's start?"

She gulped. "Yes, sir."

He folded his hand, then placed it on the table and asked her. "Why should I hire you?"

This is it, Jergen! He practiced this several times for this question. He already memorized the answer, but why can't he think of it now?

"Anytime, Miss Camince. The clock is ticking," said Mr. Callahan in silence. "There are many other applicants besides you."

He tasted it. "I'm efficient and I can multitask. I'm equipped with the right skills required by the position and—"

"I don't wanna hear that," said Mr. Callahan. "I want to hear a new answer, the one you didn't memorize before entering my office."

He stared at the man. "Huh?"

He stared at her. "Give me an answer that I haven't heard before."

He breathed deeply. "I'm passionate and I'm really, really, starving to death."

The other person stopped, then stared at him. "You're starving to death?" this seems like an unbelievable question.

"Yeah." He swallowed and looked down shyly. "I am."

"Did you eat today?" he asked when he hugged him.

He shook his head. "I really need this job, Sir. I have no money and I was just evicted from the apartment I live in. So I need this job if you will accept me. But if not, that's fine too. I'll look for someone else ."

The man stared at her intently, then he spoke. "If I hire you, where can you see yourself after five years?"

He breathed deeply. "Still your secretary, Sir."

Satisfaction glimmered in his deep eyes. "Hmm... I'd like to see that." Mr. pressed The intercom is called, then whoever answers is let in.

Seconds later, a woman entered. "Yes, sir?"

The man glanced at her before speaking. "Send all the applicants home. I have found someone."

His eyes widened. "Really?! I'm accepted?! For real?!" He couldn't stop screaming in shock.

"Yes," he shushed her. "Now stop shouting and order me two American breakfasts in the restaurant two blocks from here."

He was stunned. Her eyes widened. "Huh?"

"You're my secretary, right?"

"Y-yes?"

"Then order me some breakfast." He laid a few thousand on the table. "Pronto."

Jergen blinked, shocked. "Shall I start now?"

"Yeah." He glanced at her. "Unless you want me to interview another applicant—"

"No." He stood up quickly and picked up the money. "On it, Sir."

The corners of his lips rose. "Go on. Order me. Then go to the HR Department, sign your appointment contract and you'll start with paper works."

The width of his smile. "Thank you, Sir! Thank you so much!" She wasn't expecting this. "Thank you!"

It just nodded. "You're welcome."

He quickly walked towards the door. When he opened it, he was about to go out when he heard Mr. Lysander Callahan.

"I like your hair," It said. "Maybe you should try blue next month? Or maybe green?"

He stopped and looked at his boss. "Thanks. I'll keep that in mind, Boss."

He smiled. "Go. Buy me breakfast."

He blinked and looked away, then quickly left his office.

Jergen couldn't keep herself from grinning happily. He has a job. Finally, someone accepted him at work! And it looked like her new boss was a good man. She'd be happy to work for him. Very happy.
