Chapter 4 Dead Fetus

"Yan Zheng, don't look!" Su Zhi was in a panic as she tried to snatch the report from Yan Zheng, but Su Wan'er moved even faster.

She suddenly retched and curled up in the corner of the wall, her slender shoulders trembling.

"Wan'er!" Yan Zheng's expression changed. He had no time to care about Su Zhi at all. He threw the report on the ground and held Su Wan'er nervously. "Are you okay?"

"It's nothing... It's just a little uncomfortable..." Su Wan'er's face was pale, and her eyes were as wet as a deer's eyes, which made people feel even more pitiful. "Zheng, I want to go back to rest, okay?"

"Okay." Yan Zheng did not hesitate at all. He immediately carried Su Wan'er in his arms and turned to leave. He did not even give Su Zhi a second glance and completely forgot the report on the ground.

Su Zhi watched them disappear at the foot of the stairs before she knelt down and picked up the report on the ground.

Great.

Yan Zheng did not see the report at last.

She thought thankfully, but she could not stop her tears.

"Zhi, I'm sorry. My father won't allow me to marry you." On the phone, Sun Haoran's voice was full of guilt, "But don't worry, I will definitely find a way to pay for your grandfather's medical expenses."

"Haoran, thank you so much." Su Zhi was grateful, "The money I owed you before, I will definitely pay you back..."

"It's okay. Take care of yourself. Your body... Alas, it's good that you understand."

Su Zhi hung up the phone, feeling a little touched.

In her dark life, fortunately, she still had a good friend, Sun Haoran. In order to help her raise the medical fees, he even agreed to do a fake marriage with her to get his father to pay for her grandfather's medical expenses. Although Yan Zheng messed things up, Su Zhi still remembered this favor.

Su Zhi walked to the window of the ICU.

In the ward, her grandfather lay quietly. His body was filled with tubes, and he was so weak that he could only breathe.

"Grandfather." Su Zhi whispered to herself with her nose against the glass. "I will definitely make you better. Trust me."

Su Zhi wiped the tears from her eyes and was about to ask the doctor about her grandfather's condition. However, when she passed by the gynecology clinic, she heard a familiar voice coming out of nowhere.

"I know that I have a stillbirth in my stomach, and I know that I will never have another child again, but I said that this child cannot be taken out now! The child is useful to me! Do you hear me?"

Su Zhi stopped abruptly, unable to believe her ears.

Is that... Su Wan'er?

Before she could react, the door of the clinic in front of her was slammed open and a woman angrily walked out.

"Su Zhi?" Su Wan'er's face turned pale when she saw Su Zhi standing at the door. "When were you here? What... What did you hear?"

"I... heard everything." After hesitating for a while, Su Zhi decided to tell the truth and she frowned, "Su Wan'er, the child in your womb is stillborn? Does Yan Zheng know?"

Panic flashed through Su Wan'er's eyes, but it was only a fleeting moment. She quickly calmed down and a glimmer flashed across her eyes.

"He doesn't know." A moment later, she spoke slowly.

"Why are you hiding it from him?" Su Zhi frowned even more, "And why do you keep a dead fetus in your stomach? Do you know that you are hurting your own body like this?"

"Of course I know." Su Waner's lips curled into a strange smile, "But I should keep this child."

"What's the use?" Su Zhi was confused. What was the use of a dead fetus?

Su Waner's lips curved even more.

"To destroy you."

Su Wan'er suddenly turned around and slammed herself into the sharp corner of the table after her red lips spat out these three words.
