Chapter 2: Madonna

Angel

"Don't you know that you shouldn't be swearing in front of the kids?" I ask as my eyes drift for a few seconds to Lily. He looks at me then frowns cutely.

"And you are?" he asks while crossing his arms over his chest, trying to appear intimidating.

"The owner of the land you're standing on," I reply and cross my arms too. He raises his eyebrows in surprise.

"Can I have your name?" he asks. I notice Alex rolling his eyes before taking Lily's hand in his and making their way to their house.

"Don't you have one?" I ask. I watch as he takes a deep breath, trying to control his breathing. I'm annoying the bad boy. Hell, he doesn't even know that I go to the same school as him. It hurts, but at the same time, I don't really give a shit.

"You look familiar," Ace says as he looks at me closely. "And you look hot," he continues as soon as his eyes set on my toned stomach.

"Did I ask you?" I ask with one eyebrow raised while taking a step back in the house. "Goodbye," I finally say and close the door on his face.

"Do you know that it's rude to close the door on the face of someone?" he asks in disbelief from behind the door.

"I also know that I'm not supposed to talk to strangers," I retort and chuckle.

"I'm your new neighbour, and you just had two kids that you barely know in your house!" he points out in disbelief. I can hear the irritation in his voice.

"Goodbye," I say again, knowing that he has a good point. I hear him huff in annoyance then walk away. I walk to my couch and let my body fall on it.

How will Ace react when he sees me at school tomorrow?

We never really cross each other's path, and he is too reserved with his little group of bad boys. I look at my television, and beside it, I see things that my granny bought for me: Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Wii. She won't let me buy my own things. I decide to play Call of Duty as I have nothing else to do. After Call of Duty, I put on Counter Strike. I'm always so good at games involving guns. On the other hand, if you tell me to drive in Need for Speed, be sure that I will lose.

Ace

I walk in my house and run directly to Alex's room. I barge in, then see him with his headset on, playing Grand Theft Auto. I pull the headset and watch as he jumps from his seat, his hand on his heart. He glares at me as I sit on his bed and stare at him, waiting for him to calm down. I could have given him a heart attack. I bite my lips to prevent myself from bursting out laughing as I need information from him right now.

"What's up?" I ask. Alex knows me too well. He takes a deep breath, then leans against his chair while staring at me lazily.

"What do you need?" he asks, crossing his arm over his chest and looking at me as if he had more power over me. I stand up, then cross my arms, showing him how I'm far more intimidating than him.

"I need her name," I simply say and watch as he chuckles in disbelief.

"Why do you need her name?" he asks.

"Because she looks familiar," I tell him. "What's her name?" I ask again and observe as he taps his chin, faking to be in deep thought.

"Her name is Madonna," he says, and I flick his head. I pull his chair towards me and glare at him.

"What's her name?" I ask again.

"M A D O N N A!" he says and pulls away. "Not my fault if she has a shitty name!" I search his face as he glares at me. Maybe he is telling the truth. "Now go!" he orders, and I roll my eyes. I walk out of his room, then enter mine. I sit on the edge of the bed and pull my laptop next to me. A few notifications pique my interest.

Party at Johnson's tonight!

I smirk at my screen.

Time to give my friends a call.

We crash in the party and watch as some guys cower away just to let us walk in. I run my hands through my hair and look at the grinding students. Nearly everyone is here. What if Madonna is here? I look around and keep myself alert for her black hair and hazel eyes.

"Hey, man, you zoned out," Daniel says as he punches my shoulder playfully.

"You're looking for a new prey?" Ted asks while looking around at the girls.

"They are girls, not prey," Justin mumbles with a sigh. He is the most mature and reserved one in our group.

"Sure, sure." Daniel dismisses Justin smugly then make his way towards a petite blond. He is a player while Ted is childish and stupid. Justin walks away, and I follow him with my hands in my pocket. Some drunk girls throw themselves at Justin, and once he gets rid of them, they come to me as I'm just behind.

"Damn, Justin, keep your girls away from me," I swear while fixing my jacket. Justin simply chuckles as I push a giggling drunk girl.

Annoying sound.

"Here." Justin hands me a bottle of beer as we lean against the bar. My eyes scurry the dance floor in search of Madonna, and Justin seems to notice that. "Who are you looking for?" he asks curiously.

"Madonna," I reply, and soon I realize how stupid I sounded when I see Justin's lips twitching in amusement. He raises his hand in surrender.

"I don't want to know," he replies and chuckles before taking a gulp of his beer.
